I’m just starting out and I have the dragon hawk beginners it’s a white one and it starts at 6 and goes to 12 I think and it keeps on going to the highest when I’m practicing it won’t stay at 6 keeps jumping up and idk how to keep it at the same spot! Any ideas?

Have you seen or heard of Dklab? Specifically their Mizar model with adjustable stroke? I'd love to see a review on that (in english). I was on the fence between that and the Z1, but I decided on the Mizar and here's why: 1- It has a wider stroke range (2.7 to 4.5 compared to 2.5 to 4. I won't use less than 3, but I will use 4.2 or 4.5) 2- lighter, and more comfortable shape (33mm x 131mm standard cylinder pen shape) 3- easier to wrap and still access all adjustments. 4- Battery, although shorter life (4-6hours) has a more detailed readout, showing htz, and battery level by color. 5- fits aftermarket batteries better. 6- unique drive bar/mechanism (moves perfectly straight and smooth as butter). Also, not that it mattered as much, but the Mizar was about $40 cheaper. Check it out if you get a chance.

I have the first one I guess series one or whatever had it about eight months and the swash plate is already making noises. I’ve tried to change it still the same was thinking about getting an all-around machine.

I have the Bishop Wand Packer. Used to do old school with a 3.5 stroke machine before and had no issues healing. But since I use the Wand I feel like every tattoo is scabbing up really bad even though my volts go as low as 4,8v. The lineweight was also thicker on the 3.5 stroke machine I feel. My hand speed is pretty low but not that low. But I'm kind of afraid to up my voltage since when starting I used 6 to 6.5v and my work scabbed up really bad. But same thing with 5v, so I feel like this machine is just not made for my hand speed. But then again I have seen people on TH-cam working with the Packer on 8.5v, not moving significantly faster than me. Depth is not the problem. Not sure what to do.

Pink? That's just weird. I dunno why they all just don't do direct drive. I think for the rest of my life when I see adjustable stroke I'm going to think back to the video of David Vega tattooing Franco Viscovi and Franco goes into why the adjustable stroke is a gimmick. He says the power of the motor is what it is. Adjusting the stroke doesn't affect the power of the motor. I emailed him for further explanation. I always thought inertia came into play. Longer stroke length hits harder because the needles are traveling farther. Yeah the power of the motor didn't change but the distance the needle travels does. I think that was just his reasoning to try and sell you 3 machines instead of just 1. Sounds like a question for Carson. 😂

You can take off the top o ring and screw off the top to shange the stroke just like the peak
