I orginally showed up with the drone to capture a Canoe surfing contest, but with the Eddie and the current wave conditions, the contest was postponed until the following weekend. While I was there I tossed up the drone to catch the action and the beauty of Makaha.

Not often do the winds, the swells and current line up to run North to South along the East side of Oahu. Saw it stacking up and it was TIME TO GO!!! I wanted to launch from Laie, but we were contrained for time in terms of the sun going down. The last thing I wanted to do is be paddling in the dark as a North swell was building. K-bay can dish up some canoe crushers...Trust me, I know... So gr...

Well...we tried. Need to figure out the best way to capture the footage at Night with the GoPro's. Did not really need the white light to see, but I thought it might be a good idea not to slice through a canoe in the surf zone so headlights were worn. It turned out to be a good idea in that regard. We could keep track of each other. We had a BLAST out there! The back 1/2 of the session was real...

It's been SO GOOD at the Mokes as a big swell has been moving in. This is #2 of 3 sessions. Will get to the other edits....Need faster fingers to edit all the footage between V1, Makaha, & the Mokes. No complaints...Just not enough time. :)
