A day at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park | The Cotswolds Traveller
I recently visited the Cotswold Farm Park, located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold countryside near Giuting Power and Stow on the Wold.
This working farm run by farmer and TV personality Adam Henson offers a unique and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.
One of the highlights of the farm park is the rare breeds trail. Here, you can get up close and personal with some of the UK's rarest and most endangered farm animals. You'll have the opportunity to learn about the history and characteristics of each breed from knowledgeable and passionate staff members.
The trail takes you through the different fields where the animals are grazing, and you can even feed some of them by hand! You'll also learn about the important role that rare breeds play in preserving genetic diversity and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
But the rare breeds trail is just the beginning. The Cotswold Farm Park also features a discovery barn, where you can learn about farming practices and technologies throughout history. From hand-ploughing to modern-day tractors, you'll see how farming has evolved over the centuries to meet the needs of a growing population.
Kids will love the interactive exhibits, which allow them to get really close and touch all kinds of different animals, from the farm animals in the fields to the small animals in the discovery barn. There is also a soft play area and a cafe, making it the perfect place to take a break and refuel before continuing your farm park adventure.
I visited in the spring, and it was lambing time in the animal barn. This is a magical time of year when the farm's ewes give birth to their adorable and fluffy lambs. I had the opportunity to witness the miracle of life firsthand and learn about the care that goes into raising these precious animals.
The Cotswold Farm Park is committed to preserving the natural beauty and biodiversity of the surrounding landscape, and works to minimize its environmental impact through sustainable farming practices.
Overall, the Cotswold Farm Park is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in farming, animal welfare, or just a fun day out in the countryside. With its rare breeds trail, discovery barn, and animal barn, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Unravelling the Secret Meaning of "Cotswolds" | The Cotswolds Traveller
มุมมอง 901ปีที่แล้ว
The Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the south of England. Do you really know the unique history of charming Blockley?

The village of Blockley, located in the north of the Cotswolds, is a quiet, unassuming village that seems to be famous only for being the location of a popular TV series, Father Brown. This fame draws in thousands of tourists who search for the parish church featured in the TV programs and may miss out on the remarkable history of the village. At one time, Blockley was ranked in the top 20% of ...
The hidden treasures of Bourton-on-the-Water that need to be seen | The Cotswolds Traveller

Bourton-on-the-Water is regularly voted the prettiest village in all of the Cotswolds, and is likely one of the prettiest in England. My favorite Cotswold village, esp stumbling accidentally onto the Perfume Museum behind the "center" of town, the river & bridges... It's a fairy tale place for sure. As an herbalist/women's healer it was the last place I'd expect to find in this peaceful historic place. (And it was very interesting!) Definite past-life vibes up there. I'll never forget it. ❤

The Domesday Book will doubtless feature in many more future videos. It was a census that William the Conqueror held wherein were recorded not only the people, but all the animals, buildings and implements, so that he could determine the appropriate tax to levy against his new subjects. But it does leave an important historic record for us as it creates a vivid snapshot of life in villages throughout England in 1086.
