    I think America doesn't have a "test" afaik. You can buy any bike, ride it on the road, and do the MSF whenever. And that's it. No theory, no mod1 and no mod 2. My cousin lived in America, and when his step son did his car test, he filled in a form afterwards and he had a bike licence. He'd never ridden a bike in his life 😬

    Wearing the gear is so important, I had a horrible incident beginning of the year, it was all relatively low speed (being in London) but a pedestrian ran out in front of me, I just about clipped the person but this upset the balance of my bike to a point I came off it and all 234kg worth of machinery fell onto my ankle I'm glad I was wearing motorcycle boots, although it only had protection up until the ankle portion, I ended up with a badly torn ligament, swollen foot and could not walk properly for at least a few months which was really painful and a good solid 6 months worth of recovery + physio doctors told me I was lucky it didn't break, basically had I only worn trainers that day the story would have been very different. They have not made a mistake. They made the bike better, using science. They race these things in various race series, and they made it faster, more aerodynamic, more stable, and better in the corners... All the folks whining about how it looks different, so what? Get over it... If you just make the same old thing year after year(cough, Suzuki, cough) you just get left behind...

      They made a better bike with science before, it's called the 999... The ultimate goal is sales, not racing. The latter only serves to boost the former, through pedigree and tech advancements. The 999 did great in racing but was retired after just 3 years due to dreadful sales. The reactions to this one are quite underwhelming so far. Let's see how actual sales numbers go...

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Al-gc9ul The 999 was an anomaly and one of the quirky stylings of Pierre Terblanche. I had a 2007 999S Parts Unlimited edition... only 1 of 150 made, hand signed by Bostrom and Hodges. I liked how it looked, but many didn't. He also designed the Hypermotard, which has been a huge success, and he also designed the Sport Classics that had he released those 10 years later, would have been smash hits. The retro vibe hadn't hit yet, those were before their time... People were clutching their pearls when the Panigale came out, because the dry clutch and the trellis frame were gone. Many vowed it was the end of Ducati... The faithful gathered up their torches and pitch forks and rebelled. Meanwhile, they dominated WSBK and I think in 2017, the Panigale was THE best selling super bike, in the world. They sold more of them than any of the Japanese makers that year. So people got over it. This new model will sell. The look will grow on people, it's taken right from MotoGP, and the performance will speak for itself and it will sell just fine. I have seen the folks on social media complaining, and half of them are dudes riding 15 year old Gixxers... lol

    just bought my first ever "street legal" bike. thought about either the r7 or the one i got. people said the r7 got boring. chose a 2007 cbr600rr. rode dirtbikes all my life on the street off the street. yes its too fast for an ABSOLUTELY NEVER RIDDEN ANYTHING NEW RIDER. but if you already know how to rev match downshift, progressive front braking is muscle memory and your used to riding on dusty roads on pure dirt knobbies. its not so much that you cant handle it if you just take it slow. just dont be an idiot and you wont die. you can calmly and safely arrive at the speed limit with basic throttle control. dont buy the baby bikes just go for it and dont be stupid if youve ever ridden any manual motorcycle at any real speed or skill level. i love my choice and scared i almost wasted my money on an r7.

      @Saneka999_ หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MotoMorYT I'd say ride a medium sized dirt bike/dual sport like a drz400 crf 250 and practice everything you can. Once you can whip a 250 and up around like it's a toy I'd say your ready for a 600. If you plan on just riding around town and doing small pulls get a "beginner bike" if you really want to get good at it take it to the track put a knee down etc get the 600 and treat at the same level of respect you should treat gun safety. Also a full msf course and doing the more advanced classes would help alot with new riders confidence. Watch yt tutorials and practice in big empty parking lots full gear but push it bit by bit towards the upper limits. Should feel fully comfortable whipping it around(everything becomes muscle memory) before you start trying to go fast. Beginners develop a false confidence once they don't get scared going fast but don't realize they've never avoided a car or dog darting towards you. My left wrist still hurts everyday bc I got too confident and tried to wheelie set it down too fast and grabbed front brake bc I saw a bunch of sand that got washed onto the street from rain. That happened when I first started had to slowly build confidence back up and practiced everything I could find on yt. As long as you have a healthy fear of the bike and respect it you should be fine. Also 0 drinking smoking etc and riding. Not even if you only had 1. Half of moto deaths the rider had alcohol in their system, also intersections basically people running lights and using the yield turn lane. So if you double check and slow down in intersections and never drink and ride your chances of survival go up by like 75%

    Sorry; but all suggestions are ugly. I will never buy one of those.

    I did the dumb route and I started on a 2019 zx6r. Here in the states there is no tiered licensing. You can start on anything you want. It’s not a good idea to start on a 600, but that’s all I wanted.

      @@RA109E it isn’t like that here in the UK unfortunately. I definitely wouldn’t recommend starting on a 600 supersport for sure but sometimes people grow into their machines quicker and become more comfortable over a shorter period of time

      @@MotoMorYT so no turbo hayabusa starter bike? I heard that the turbo lag helps you ease into the power band 😂

    I'm planning on getting my license. Rode mopeds in the past, mainly Tomos 4tl. I've got my eye on a Yamaha XV 750 Virago (I love the classics). I know it's a rather hefty displacement but being a V-twin and not a high revving 4 cylinder, I think it might be a suitable bike for a beginner in his early fifties who is familiar with the perils of traffic. I want some transport that is suitable for longer distances for holidays and nice weather commuting. Is this a really bad idea or not?

    If you can afford it go for it...I'm from a time where it made sense to learn your big bike craft on a cheap machine similar to what you trained on and if you scraped it it wouldn't matter one iota, ER5 is a great starter bike and will give you a lesson in spannering along the way... plenty of low mileage good ones still out there to this day. 48hp and if need be A2 restriction is a doddle plus Insurance is dirt cheap.
