This sounds awesome I want to see the progress
How could you call a vehicle unreliable if it never let you sit ?
@@barrypeters3578 Because it did. How can you drive a car with a cracked block?
Looking forward to your next update, very good!
Lmao 🤣 you are hyping this video like crazy “let me give you four MAJOR issues that this civic has” .. proceeds to talk about trivial things that are easy to fix. The block problem only happened up until 2009. You should have did what i did and get a 2010 and you never would have dealt with the block problem. Major issues are cylinder rings eroding, or a rod getting thrown out of the engine. I have an 8th gen civic 2010 and have had ZERO issues with it. Why? Because i take care of my civic and do the oil change every 3,000 miles. I have had the car since brand new. Have 124,000 miles on it and have had no issues besides regular maintenance. You my friend, are a liar. And the paint peel problem is due to never ever cleaning it, and waxing the clear coat. Had you washed the car, paint peel would have never happened. Secondly the visor issue cost 10 dollars to repair. Like i said everything you 8th gen haters complain about is all trivial shiit thats costs nothing. Even the wheel bearing problem costs nothing. Airbags are not a serious issue either. If you get into a huge wreck, airbags will not save you.
@@iprophecy6768 You’re clearly another moron that lacks reading comprehension. Read the title of the video again. It says why you SHOULD STILL OWN ONE. Either way, I’m not sure how you think the 3 years from 06-09 of a motor being released in a car, where the block cracks in half is even remotely acceptable. How would you say that “isn’t a major issue?” Even if it was taken care of by recall, It’s still a major issue that leaves people stranded. The paint isn’t lack of care. It’s a literal recall. Use Google before commenting and sounding like a complete moron. I even say that it’s a recall IN THE VIDEO. The car was washed weekly under my ownership and cared for meticulously. I’m a liar, and don’t maintain my car? The car had stacks of receipts from work I did to it. I did the entire front end, from ball joints to axles, tie rods, sway bars, struts all around, new plugs, filters, whatever. Oil changed every 3-4k with 5w-20 synthetic. Name it and it was done once the car hit 100k miles, because yes the parts are dirt cheap like you said. If anything even looked remotely worn, I’d replace it. I do the same with my current 09 Accord. “You don’t need airbags.” I know they won’t save you. I’ve owned older cars without them from the factory, but to pass a safety inspection in my state and many others, you NEED functional airbags. You can’t have an airbag light on, especially for a recall specifically know for killing people. Car also had another airbag issue that was $800 to fix, beyond the recall. Talk what you know dude, you sound like an idiot.
It looks like I will wait for the 8.5 gti.
Picked up a 2015 Accord Sport 6MT yesterday. Black on black with black tinted windows. Exhaust growls 🤪
Yeah the exhaust note on these things stock is not what you expect very pleasant for a 4cyl
NICE!
Looking forward to your continued updates and keeping an eye on your work on MK4!!
Hey brother, I'm doing the same thing as you and keeping an eye on you. I hope you can share more information about the direction of engine and transmission wiring harnesses.
@@kunlingshi Hey dude, thanks for checking out the vids! Unfortunately I won’t be tackling this part of the wire tucking process for another 6 months or so, when I do the secondary emission deletes. There’s a few videos out there for sure though on this subject.
Did you plug the holes that came out of the firewall or did you just leave it the way it was after taking the plastic off?
@@dragandubaic1938 I’m just leaving them. You can plug them or leave them. Whichever you decide.
Nice car, but I would change the rims to a Golf R style rim. I have a 2022 Golf r in Blue. I love the rims and my winter rims are similar in all black. They make a HUGE DIFFERENCE! HUGE!!!
@@stevie1748 The R wheels do look great on these! If I owned the car, I would totally do the same thing.

I have a 13 Coupe V6 x 6 Speed Manual - the power, style and reliability are intoxicating. 260k on mine and I LOVE IT
3:36 I think I have the same issue with my 2005 Altima 6-Speed Manual, when I hit the clutch pedal to shift, the Rev hangs for like one full second before dropping. I don't know if it's natural for the old Altimas or there is something wrong with my throttle system...
I just bought one of these accords, and at least with the honda you can tune it out. Potentially something similar for the Altima as well
@vesta4351 what tune did you go with? I've been thinking about looking into that this summer

Which rental place rents out GTIs?
@@oneblach National/Enterprise. Roughly $260 a day.
@@oneblach The problem with National/Enterprise, is that you can’t truly reserve a specific car. You can reserve by class, but whatever they have when you show up, purely depends on what they have on the lot that day. If you want to rent a cool car for a decent price then check out Sixt. They’re a German based company and have mostly all German cars for decent prices. I’ve rented many BMW’s from them before, including a Z4 M40i.
@@twoguysonecar6321 yeah, that’s pretty much the case with every rental company. Sixt is great if you like BMWs, but not much else as far as selection. I’ve rented cars many times from different companies and I try to rent something that I would consider buying in the future, like the GTI, but I’ve never seen one for rent.
Easily get 10k for that
Excellent resale values
I don’t understand where the “it’s just a 4-cylinder” attitude came from. Honda’s N/A VTEC 4-cylinders are genuinely good-sounding engines.
Yes, they definitely sound decent as far as N/A 4 cylinder motors go. Especially the K series.
Love mine!!! Jumped on it as soon as i seen it was a 6mt
😏 NIce, it has a manual transmission, did you guys drive it up from Central America or South America? cause you only see manual south of the border

@@GTIclubdport9462 Yes, definitely a very fun car and the stage 1 numbers are very impressive from what I’ve read!
@@twoguysonecar6321don't modify you lose your warranty
Is it for sale
All cars have some issues. The 2006 was the worst for the cracked engine block issues. The 07 was better than the 06 the 08 was better yet. The 09 was a no issue as far as the cracking engine block and had very few issues. The bottom line is all cars have some issues but the civic is a solid car. Engine mounts are a maintenance issue with any car. Paint fading also happens especially in Sunny areas. Most mechanics really like civics. Like the guy said who made this video when buying a used car have it checked by a mechanic who knows what he's doing and not all mechanics know what they're doing!
Bunk
2010 civic ex sedan with 199500 miles no issue yust maintenance
Hey i have exact same base model 420000 miles doesn't burn a drop of oil Florida truck interior exterior engine compartment mint
Some corrections. The car you’re driving is 188hp. There is a sports mode on the back of the stick. Also the vc turbo does not come with awd just fwd.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention. To be fair, I would’ve never thought they’d offer the 250hp model without the AWD option. Seems very strange. It’s like getting a fully loaded car, not fully loaded. Just seems odd.
@@twoguysonecar6321 I’m thinking they don’t want to impede on the Infinity line perhaps? Maybe they think the Vc Turbo Altima would be too good at the price point with awd lol. I agree with you though, it def should be offering in awd.
@@marklatham1414 No, you’re absolutely correct, that’s exactly why lol That’s also why I’ve lost faith in Nissan throughout the years. Let’s make an awesome and affordable car…actually no, nevermind.
i have both the 8th gen si and the 8th gen ex coupe (automatic) and i have beat the ever living hell out of the rev limiter, never have had an issue with the engine, never have had any mechanical issues with the car, except the tire pressure meter system went out. Otherwise the car is amazing. But you could have some issues.
I have the same problem with the paint on the roof and the air bag recall. Is the paint and the cracked engine block problem still covered in a recall? I also have the visor problem as well. Thanks for the informative video.
Thank you! Unfortunately the engine recall was only covered under the 10 year warranty, so it would no longer be covered by Honda. The paint is also too old as well, I believe it was a 7 year warranty. My paint was too old at the time of filming this video to be covered as well, that’s why I went the plasti dip route. Looking back now, if I could do it again, I would much rather spend the $600 or so on a Maaco paint job instead.
@@twoguysonecar6321 mine was garage kept until 2020 when I bought a Waverunner. After that and sitting outside it didn't take long at all for the clear coat to start chipping. Thanks for getting back I appreciate it
Great truck!
The cam chain need exchange at just over 100,000 miles and usually the water pump has issues and should be changed. And you should make sure the automatic gearbox oil is changed. Can you not get snow socks that size i would have thought you could
I've owned one here in the UK for 5+ Years. Paid £12500 for it, worth about £7000 now. I think this is acceptable depreciation, particularly as I have put 80k miles on it., Cars in the UK are generally cheaper to begin with also. The one you are reviewing must have had a front-end prang at some point, as the panel gaps are way too large, much larger than mine! Jaguars always depreciate, which makes them an excellent used purchase! Really surprised you highlighted cost of brakes and tyres, no more than any other vehicle I have driven... Helps of course if you can do it yourself, which I do. In my 5 years of ownership - suspension ride height sensor, a cracked screen, and a couple of buckled wheels. Nothing else, other than the normal service costs (brake pads, rotors, oil, filters, etc). Love the thing and very reliable.
Its pretty much for people that want one but cant afford the v8 or just dont want the power not everyone races their cars some people just like the look of the car.
went with the v6 bc it has awd since i live in a snowy area
You missed the entire point of this car. Awful video.
I found a used 2013 jaguar xjl 5.0 supercharged with less than 10K miles on it and in a NEW condition. never driven on the road, only inside a camp. How much maintenance cost should i expect annually?
Wow, that’s an amazing find! Congrats! I’d just get an aftermarket warranty from a reputable company if I were you, so you can limit the out of pocket expenses on your end. A bumper to bumper plan would cover almost everything on the car, minus wearable components like tires, brakes etc. There’s a few solid companies out there, but just make sure to check Better Business Bureau ratings before purchasing anything. Many companies come off as legit, but they’re complete scams, so be careful. Car shield is a prime example of a complete scam company. They have F ratings with the Better Business Bureau, but come off as legit and have tons of TV add time. The previous owner of this car used a company called Auto Advantage Inc, and said they were phenomenal. Do your research and good luck with the car!
yeah never got why people would get the v6 its pointless I guess if you don't care about performance and just like the look.
V6 Mustang is a good cruiser and excellent in the curves
Ring ding ring ring....😷 V6 has paddle shifters and costs much less.
Every car is not perfect
I use to work at a dodge dealership l, even with the employee discount I never thought of buying a FCA product, all there cars are ass, the quality is ass, the interior is ass of the price, the amount of electrical issues is not worth the price, i work on all there models, the issues are insane 🤡🤡🤡
Just to think scat packs are now over $60k just insane
Nobody cares what your opinion is.
Muscle car and V6 shouldn't even be in the same sentence. The V6's are pretty much for the ladies who want the look, but don't need the power, or for the youngsters who don't know any better.
I would agree but I’m broke😭
@@donovancrommedy4580 I get that, my guy. I'm currently looking to get a Charger R/T. I will not "settle" for a V6 model, though.
I happen to own a 2018 Scat Pack Shaker. Love it and I custom ordered it from the factory so i could choose all the options minus a sunroof. I've had it for 5 years now and no issues at all. I do not notice the weight in my scat pack since the 392 Hemi is such a torquey engine. I drove a mustang GT (which is a bit lighter) and it felt a lot slower. Not much torque. The V6 is actually a pretty solid engine in general. 300 horsepower in a naturally aspirated V6 is nothing to scoff at. I agree that it's a waste of money when you could just get a Hemi and i also can't imagine myself ever buying a V6 muscle car. If i wanted a V6, I'd get a Toyota Camry. I found that seat material of the base seats like what you have to be uncomfortable and almost like a slightly softer version of burlap. As far as the volume adjustment setting getting reset whenever you start the car, i personally have not experienced that. The uconnect screen you have is a base model, so maybe that "glitch" is specific to the smaller radio that you have. I'm not sure about the V6 transmission, but the trans that comes with the R/T models and Scat Packs is awesome. Track mode gives the really firm shifts, or i can switch to street mode and get the really soft shifts. There is a chance you could enable track mode using a Tazer from ZAutomotive, but I'm not exactly sure since you have the base model radio. Not sure if that's a rental for you or not, but buying a car right now in this economy should be a last resort option since the interest and inflation are so high.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate the input from someone who is familiar with these cars. Yes, this car was a rental. I travel often for work and these challengers are always on the rental lots as an option in the standard category. Your radio comment is 100% correct with thinking it’s a glitch. I shot this video about 6 weeks ago, and I recently rented another challenger about a week ago. I turned off that volume option to 0 and it stayed turned off, the entire 5 days I had the car. Also the transmission felt like butter compared to the first challenger I rented. I think the first one I had was severely beat on by previous renters.
Buy used! 😂 rt m6 might not be the fastest, but its fun to drive
Throw that shit out
