We'd stopped by Newbery's for pizza after school. Young girls and boys taking the bus without any fear or threat. May Company was my favorite go to because they had a book section and beautiful Christmas decorations. Those were the days, my friends, we thought they'd never end😔

The building at 6:17 was the Reading Display Services sign company in Boise, on the corner of E McKinley and E State. Company is long gone from there but the building is there and converted to a residence.

So far, I think this is my favorite show! I really enjoyed the music and the composition of many of the slides. The ones with the children and young people make me smile. Some of the architecture is wonderful. My favorite is at 6:09, the buildings on the side of a hill. Great slides!😊

I like how when we see 98% American cars on the roads, and I not seeing anybody getting carjacked or sucker punched in the face like we have today.

How do you get a hold of these photo's? Do you find them in the internet archives? Or do you happen to collect old cameras or old camera photos and film and find these? I love all the different videos you have done and the photo's evoke a feeling of pleasure and nositilga that I don't even have because I'm a Gen Z person. Thank you for all your wonderful videos!

These slides contained images of, Old hwy 30 along the Columbia river gorge, Vista house, Bonneville dam (coulumbia river). landing boats at bonneville dam, The old tunnels on i84. Mt hood view from the east looking west from mountain roads like hwy 35, bennet pass / cold springs rd area. so neat to see old photos of my area!

Just started high school. A couple mile bus ride into Downtown and my friends and I would be walking among the folks pictured. Forgot how nice it was. Thank you for posting and reminding me of those times. Cool music accompaniment.

I dont miss California. Its so expensive. Cost of everything is higher there. The US is getting expensive. I don't like the system of basing everything on inflation. Appraisals and costs. Why dont things stay cheap and not go up.

Grew up in LA. And I’m still driving the Pasadena fwy. Recognize the courthouse area - hasn’t changed much. Hippie days when folks walked barefoot. 🦶 😮

Born in 1961. Grew up in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach. Later lived in Hollywood, MarVista, Marina Del Rey. Those cars and freeway signs take me right back. Can’t say I’ve ever regretted growing up in SoCal back then.

That shot of the clear blue skies, I remember that day. It was in early December that year. I had been living in Long Beach for six months and that morning was the first time I had seen the San Gabriel Mountains.

In 1972 America, a woman couldn't obtain a credit card without a husband's signature. Couldn't serve on a jury, either. Oh, but DID have bodily autonomy, unlike today. In fact, I'll bet most of the ppl in these slides VOTED for Trump. Because....Boomers.

I was born in 1961. Me and my dad were camera nuts. We took photos of So. California mostly. The whole family took a "family vacation" road trip to the deep south, florida, eastern seaboard, niagra. on another year we went up to washington state and that area, and up to vancouver and victoria. I still remember the 1960's and 70's. Turbulent times, but there were good times as well. Thanks for doing these photo compilations. It is important that people know the past and how far we've progressed or regressed in many ways.

SoCal in the 60's and 70's was just about paradise on earth, unbelievably beautiful and a non-stop never-ending adventure for a kid with a bike.
