Gas has gotten so expensive as oil company profits have gone through the roof. It causes inflation and it hurts poor people the most. How much do you take in contributions from oil interests? I just looked but couldn't find any numbers for you. But I did find plenty of scrutiny of campaign contributions from developers to you in 2018. I guess you were able to dodge that bullet. Then just a month ago, you were whining about money for legal defense for immigrants, who need defense and have a right to be provided an attorney. BTW, for someone who uses 500 gallons a month, the added tax will be an additional $10. Of course most people use a fraction of that, so what are you whining about? Two cents more cumulatively will help a great deal and won't hurt people much to pay it. The oil companies raise gas prices much more than that every chance they get. So sit down and shut up.
