Um erro não usar o cola rosca que muitos cometem, e tem causado acidentes sérios esses parafusos são elásticos e também devem ser trocados !
THANKS where did you get your seats??
The video is great but the axle screw is not a hex 22. I believe it's a 12?
When you said the other side are you referring to removing only the spark plug? The valves are only on the one side of the motor?
do you know if the new cardo pro with the 45mm will fit in the helmet ?
The factory recess for the speakers fits the Edge perfectly. I believe the Edge JBL speakers are 40mm.
Were you assuming the gap on the new plug was correct Not a very informative video
These plugs are all pre-gapped. What could I have done better to make it more informative for you?
4th spin on the new bike and I got a puncture- this is just what the doctor ordered, torque settings and all.
Sorry to hear that it glad you got it handled.
Great video! Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Gdzie kupię takie podwyższenie kierownicy? Jaka to firma?

Thanks for the video! I watched both of your videos for the E1 & E2 PT install because I'm planning to pick up one of these helmets in the near future. In your opinion, is the E2 upgrade worth ~$300 more than what I can get a new leftover E1?
I liked my E-1 and wore it for nearly 5 years until I crashed in it. If I recall, the ear holes for speakers were not big enough for the JBL/Cardo speakers. In the E-2 they fit perfectly. I feel like the E-2 fits a little better too, but that's just me. You can't go wrong with an E-1, just make sure that it's not been sitting on the shelf for a long time.
Not the best procedure here at all. Always crack open the fill screw first and remove because if you can't remove the fill screw for some unknown reason how are you going to get the oil in when you've already drained it? Plus, removing the fill screw equalizes the pressure and the oil drains a lot faster
Good tip, thanks!
Yeah, a mechanic told this to me many years ago, and IMHO it´s wise to do it that way. I for some reason the fill plug gets busted, you can still use the bike to fix it if needed, but if you have no oil there because you removed the drain plug first, now you are somehow stuck. Well it´s not the end of the world tho, you still have options. You can take off the wheel , turn the gear 90º or more and fill the thing from the drain hole... But yeah, you are working harder for nothing. The advise is really good. Personally I didn´t had any issue unbolting those screws in whatever order I wanted, but who knows.
Why did they do this
I prefer the approach on the GS.
Love these short and easy videos. I got comfortable with all the basic service work watching your content. BMW calls for the expensive Hypoid G3 oil and it has a short shelf life. Dealers themselves seem to use the cheaper 75w90 oil when asked privately. With the replacement guarantee for 1250 drives for life, I see no need for expensive oil. What am I missing here?
I am not an "oils" expert, but it seems most everyone uses 75w90 gear oil. Make sure that is GL-5 rated.
Thanks for the video and detailed explanation. What tools do you use to service a 1300 motorcycle? Please provide links and the table according to the screw size and torque required for closing
I am working on creating a table. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for all your teturials, they are very helpful. What about to make a video so we can see how to change the Rotors (discs) on the front wheel
That's a good suggestion.
Thank you so much very helpful video with all details
Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you for this. Keep em coming!
You bet!
Nice video! They have an integrated Cardo system coming soon that replaces the Sena based system. Can't wait!
That’s news to me!
Really love your style, no bs, just to it. I have a 2001 Yamaha in mint. Wish you had one of those I could watch you tinker on "-) Keep up the good work!
I appreciate the feedback!
It´s been a while since the last time BMW installed this paper oil filter on their motorcycles. I think R100 and older R engines did, and the G650 with the Rotax engine.
Everything old is new again!
Brilliant
Thanks!
Do you know how many DIY or even regular mechanics will over tighten/Strip this new Stupid cartridge filter set up, instead of the old spin on, How idiotic. Also, next time put aluminum foil over the Headers so oil from this stupid filter set up, doesn’t drain all over the pipes.
That’s a good idea. I use foil when I drain the final drive oil.
I like the idea of the cartridge since there is less waste to contend with - better for the environment. German bikes ABS cars have been using this approach for some time. What I don’t like is the poor location of the cartridge and cover and the 2 drain plugs. Overly complicates a simple job, and makes changing the oil on a hot engine difficult. So the juice is not worth the squeeze in this case.
Did you just say “Better for the environment” 🙄🙄, I just threw up a little in my mouth reading that.
Actually it seems the two drain plugs helps with a more thorough drain. I like it.
@@PacMoto OK. 😏
Hi, die BMW hat eine Trockensumpfschmierung mit 2 Ölpumpen und 2 Vorratsbehältern. Deshalb auch die 2 Ölablassschrauben, denn nur dadurch können beide Vorratsbehälter entleert werden. Gruß an alle 1300 GS Fahrer@@PacMoto
Danke
Thank you for the video and explanations, I have a new 1300 motorcycle, I would appreciate it if you could send me the torque closing table for the BMW 1300 GS motorcycle thank you very much,
I’ll post it when I get one produced.
🤣 GS 13'000 👍
Haha!
Mercedes logo inside the oil filter cover 😂
Haha yeah kinda.
Thanks for the excellent video. Much appreciated! Which lower engine crash bars have you installed? They look great!
The crash bars are SW Motech. Thanks for watching.
Purflux filter👍
Huh, never heard of purflux before.
Why do large modern bikes have such small filters?
Filter envy?
Did you get a new toy, Kurt?
Not mine, but I have a deposit on one! You?
@@PacMoto not a new bike--but a Mini Cooper (used). Have been having fun driving something that's not a truck or SUV.
Thank you for those. I hunted all over for just this video. Subscribed.
Thanks for watching. More R1300 videos coming soon.
I consider a cartridge oil filter a step back. I prefer a spin on canister type.
Maybe so, but it is certainly easier to remove and replace. I like it.
Nice ride 😊
Thanks, Matt.
😍
Thanks :)
Great video. 🎉. Jim
Thanks, Jim!
I use the black original bar ends, the original inserts, then the spacers from the hand guard kit…I have a GSA by the way…..
Okay, good. Thanks for watching.
I’ve just finish installing my hand guards….Looks really nice & level but when I fully turn to the left or right I’m hitting the windshield….what should I do to fix this issue….Don’t want to take them off….thanks in advance…..
Sounds like they are turned up too high??
Very clear video, before I was a little bit afraid but after watching, I am going to do with confidence. Thank you !!!!!!
I love to hear that!
Thanks for the videos, when its time for the pads to be changed I’ll be doing it myself now I’ve watched your videos many thanks 👍
Music to my ears!
Thank you save a lot of money
Thanks for sharing!
Love seeing you back in the garage!
Thank you!
I noticed you spliced the video at 7:38 to remove an hour of finagling. Note to BMW - There's already two bolts on top of the gas tank area. I wish your engineer just added two more bolts and created an easy to remove cover so I could use my day for riding not waste it replacing the air filter. Design rating = FAIL
No doubt changing the air filter in the RT is a total PITA!
The engineer who designed the air box and body work interface on this bike should be ashamed, fired, and prevented from designing anything.
It is certainly tedious!
Excelent explanation...👏👏👏
Well thank you.
The spacer is only on one side?
Yes, there is only a spacer on one side.
Where did the 180ml value come from? I couldn't find it in the Rider manual. Thanks!
Directly from the dealer. Call your local dealer and ask them for confirmation.
100?
Hi sir, is threadlock necessary for the two caliper bolts torqued at 24 Nm? Thanks, Marc, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦😉🏍️ ( this week should end my riding season before winter 😢)
Great videos Kurt. These videos and the service kits you sell really make it easy for a guy (or gal) to keep their bike serviced and save money. I just finished a full 12K mile service on my GSA in about an hour and 1/2 and saved a ton of money. One question; Do you think it matters if the bike and therefore the gear oil warmed up to get all the old gear oil out, or is it ok to perform this service on a cold bike?
Thanks for the feedback. A best practice is to warm the engine up a bit to help drain all the oil. The gear oil is not very viscous so it’s not necessary. I’m glad to hear you saved a bunch of $$!
So much easier than the inline 4. Especially a classic Japanese where you have to pull the tank off man. This is easy because the heads are right there.
That’s quite true!
