@@BCRUNK A #6 SAE alan bit in a drill was the solution I found. Just make sure to keep the monitor supported and stop and check every couple of rotations to ensure you aren't damaging the monitor or the arms (the normal "in" setting on a drill is clockwise and "out" is counter-clockwise).

Sucks. I busted mine trying to adjust the arms. It just kept springing back up

Your lower the monitor all the way down. Then tight the joint with an allen wrench. You twist it towards the + sign. Give it like 10 - 15 good turns. Then raise the monitor up and down slowly to make sure it holds. Mine works fine. This process is also discussed in the manual.

i have 2 27 inch msi monitors and a verticle 20 inch no issue with holding up the monitors but i do have an issue with the spacing to fit them horizontally

Our mounts do support vertical orientation. However, the rotating axis of the VESA plate is preset to ensure stability, which may make it difficult to rotate. We suggest attaching the monitor first, then firmly holding both sides of the monitor with both hands and rotating it vigorously to achieve the desired vertical position. The tension of the arm is preset to ensure stability, which may make it seems to be locked. Have you tried to press the upper arm down? Keep it horizontal and then you can turn the inside screw clockwise(“-”direction) to decrease gas spring tension until the arm can stay as intended.
