I’ve reccently rly been deep diving into deleting social media and getting a flip phone so I really appreciate this video cause it rly is kinda scary to think abt making a change like that. I get fears of oh what will other ppl think or oh what I’m not in the “loop” of things or trends but the pros outweigh the cons so much. Looking into this reccently has already fulfilled my mind and heart sm and I’m so excited to do the same and document the changes as well so yea thank you for making this vid it rly helps 🫶🏼

Hi, I just wanted to mention I watched a few of your videos and they really inspired me. I relate to the uncertainty you feel about your current situation and life in general, I feel the same way about mine. I'm currently a first year University student and the transition from Highschool to University has been difficult for me to adjust to. My graduation class only consisted of 21 people, and only 6 of us attended each day. When I started in late august, I felt so much anxiety just being around so many different people, and the fact I was alone without anyone I knew from home. I'm a Plains Cree person who grew up in a reservation most of my life, and the switch from being into a small community to a huge City really gave me a cultural shock. I'm a very introverted person so it's still taking a while to adjust. Anyways I can relate to the feeling of being in place where you were once comfortable and knew people to not knowing where you are and having no one close to you. Your video and just self-reflection really resonated with my personal experience right now. Even so, I think it's a beautiful thing to be able to experience these things, we only live once and we're not getting any younger, so I think whatever your feeling right now is totally valid. Your experience of college really influenced my general perspective of post-secondary, It's really uncommon for Indigenous people to attend University so I'm really glad I made the decision to attend. I hope you can continue to find enjoyment and friendships in the place you are in right now, congrats on graduating too. That's a really big accomplish and I'm very happy you got to experience it all. Good and Bad. Keep up with the videos man, they're really cool to watch :)

Actually one thing I've noticed when I quitted phone use for a month, is that it placated my binging eating problems. My hypothesis is: Because I'm more engaged in the activities I'm doing- instead of passively feeding myself treats whilst binging TH-cam- I'd notice when I was actually hungry being so engrossed with my hobbies. Maybe before my brain was constantly trying to grab all the stimuli possible. Since in actuality watching videos all day was so deprivating stimualy to my brain.

thank you for being so open and transparent, including with all the videos you've done so far. i really like this vlog-diary style too, feels more real. i've felt this way after mid-highschool, which wasn't easy, but had put things into perspective. friends come and go, but you're the only person that stays because you're in your body. still in college, but still haven't found my true footing. anyhow, i hope things wind up working out well for both you and me. much love ❤

i have been of social media since may of this year... and it's hard in the way of a social pressure like why I don't have it or that I don't know what it's happening in everybody's lives, just in my closer ones. but I can live without all that information, all that I seem to 'loose' its not really important or relevant. actually it's more peaceful in the way I don't full my mind with a lot of pointless stuff. I don't want to go back actually, I feel my mind more 'clear' in my mind, and I just can be calm and don't have to worry about see my phone all day, or see a lot of story's or post's or that stuff... I can't say I haven't see my IG by web, I rarely do, but I don't spend hours like I used to be in IG or TikTok, or Pinterest, etc.

Hey I’m 29 and actually what you said about being more excited to POST than just living the thing truly resonates, and actually it’s pretty scary when you realise it. Am I doing it for myself or just to be seen and being loved by the others? So I started questioning myself, is there anything I want to do just for me and only me? Well I guess there is this inner child inside me who were so scared of not being appreciated

My conclusion is you dont need to delete evrything, just limit socials that eate your time and attention span the most and good luck :)

I'm trying to achieve the same but with a zflip, I've gotten so sick of social media taking up my entire life that I decided i'd get a zflip and configure it in a way that would kill the distractions but still give me the vital pieces of software I need for family and college (I study IT so it's required to have a smartphone), I'd say these are a great but expensive alternative if you're seriously not able to give up certain things

What about using android phone but deleting all social media. Because I need basically foreign language dictionary apps, artificial intelligence and taking notes features. I really need my Android phone. Why I am using old fashion phone? what about talking with my people in different countries and cities. I want to see them. calm down these are my opinions. If you don't want social media just delete all. I use without social media. I am not gonna use miserable phone bro. Did I try? Yes It did not work. by the way I liked your video it is so natural.

Hey, I really agree with @Hannah-mj9vg about this, it looks like you're getting signs from the universe to spend time with yourself and get to know who you really are. Sometimes it easy to get caught up in that conventional grind of college then straight career but you just ended a huge part of your life and need to regroup in a sense. This is a huge life change you're going through and you gotta reflect brah. Don't think about this in the mindset of a modern term, think of it as what have I always wanted to do? What am I interested in that I haven't given attention to with myself? Also what are you doing in New York? Your schedule is reflecting that you don't get much you time. Life is a mirror and it's reflecting back to you that you need to get to know and spend time with you. :)

just ordered myself a sonim xp5s. realizing that community and basic human communication is being broken down at the root, i then quickly realized that 90% of that was directly because of smart phones. i remember a time when people HAD to talk to each other to entertain themselves. no head down while sitting next to your friends, no constant dopamine 24/7. we must get back to that and reconnect to real life

This is probably extra hard for you considering you don't have social media, let alone a smart phone. I have been incredibly inspired by you from your switching to a flip phone video, and I have been seriously considering doing the same for a while now. What I get worried about is exactly this, it being a lot harder to make connections and build relationships with people without it. I fear this is a norm in society to really only be connected through social media, which is very sad. I wish everyone would delete it and then we would all have to make connections in real life. I could make excuses and say that I can't trade my phone in for this reason or that, but realistically I probably could. It is just a scary thing to do. I wish I had your bravery and confidence

I am in the process of becoming free of all these tech social media shit. First thing I opted to keep my phone (iphone 8 pretty old) but just with the basics, whatsapp and wallet apps (useful shit). I only turn it on when I need to, like when I need to pay for something or take an important picture or take some notes. Iphone 8 is a pretty powerfull tool if you use it right I found myself not turning it on by days. It was incredible, not having to TURN IT ON. My gf has already started the same trip as me, it feels great when as a couple both walk towards the same direction PD: the drawback is that im a programmer, so my pc is something i cant get rid of, but i guess a healthier environment is always posible. stay positive brothers Another thing is that im from a small town at the north of argentina, if we are so cooked here i dont imagine HOW INSANELY cooked you are in the USA, here life is a minimium of 10 years behind in terms of social evolution. Thats a good thing I guess.
