Gearing Change Kawasaki Ninja 400: Rear Sprocket Mod Review
มุมมอง 11721 วันที่ผ่านมา
Sections of this video are in my other Ninja 400 modifications video, but this one goes a little more in depth about the sprockets. Going up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket won't change the bikes actual horsepower, but will make the bike accelerate quicker which gives it the illusion of more power. Our customer liked this mod so much I decided to do a video on it. He was very happy with the bikes ...

My favorite mods on the Ninja 400. This is the best beginner bike in my opinion. With a few tweaks it gets even better! Best Motorcycle Under $10K

In this review of the Kawasaki Z900 I found out it is actually a really great naked bike. In fact, I dare say it is better than a 1000! The Z900 is underrated. Not many people talk about the bike which is a shame. The engine revs so fast and pulls so hard. It really does not feel like you are riding a 900cc motorcycle. The best part is this bike is still really cheap! As of 2024 it still only c...
Does The Last R6 Still Hold Up

We are officially getting a Yamaha R9! Does the last gen R6 still hold up to today's standards? I took a test ride on the last gen Yamaha R6 and was surprised how much I ended up liking it. I thought I would go into the video thinking I would hate on the R6 because I have never liked the R6, but that was not the case. I had to give credit where credit was due. This is the only Yamaha R6 worth b...

Finally getting my 25 ZX-10R delivered tomorrow i don't even know how to feel 😂
How is it!? Congrats!
@akcycles its a huge adrenaline of speed haha i love it man
I’m picking up myZX-10 RR NEXT WEEKEND ❤❤❤
That's awesome congrats!!! Now that's a fun gift for the holidays 🤗 lol
Gen 6 ZX10R is like the 03-04 ZX6R Timeless look
My favorite 600 of all time
I just picked up a 2010 ZX10r with 30k on the dash. Full Yoshi exhaust. It rides awfully smooth, so my question is, would a flash or tune make it more powerful enough to unsettle the balance? Or would it be subtle enough?
Why not just 750
Better question is why the 750? If you want more power than a 600.....sure if that's going to be your forever bike. If you know you want to get a 1000 eventually.....just get that. The newer ones with a flip of a switch can feel like a 750 and you don't waste your time or money in the 750 range which is really not that great anymore. That new R9 is going to dominate!
I need it to be for a 5’2” girl…. 😢
2ct vs s22?
Your video keeps helping people! Thank you. I found you through a duck duck go search.
My 1000sx autoblips are very rough. I never autoblip, I always downshift with the lever. My bike is factory
I loved my MT09, guess you never learned how to be smooth on a throttle. Just because you can’t control a bike doesn’t make it suck 😂
You're entitled to your opinion, but I would encourage you to ride other bikes. Literally any other liter bike I’ve ridden was better. New gen Gsxr 1000 would probably be my favorite, but I’ve never ridden a cbr1000rr of any gen that I didn’t like. If you want to compare naked bikes, the z900 or the Triumph street and speed triples are wayy better bikes. They are ACTUALLY smooth unlike the MT09. I would also choose the new CB1000r and the new GSX 1000 before the MT09. I’ve owned countless bikes and hundreds of motorcycles come through my shop every year so we constantly get to ride the newest nicest stuff. Thanks for the hate though, every comment helps 👍
I put on m’y zx14 2006 And it is not a easy bike too corner but whit 2 ct it is the first Time i can say Than i can push-pull harder whit confident. Thé Power 5 is not so Near
Is a 2009 650r still a good bike it seems like people don’t like it?
I think bang for buck it's still a great bike and honestly very similar to the new 650s lol suspension feels the same brakes power.... pretty much the same. Really the only thing that has changed much over the years is the styling and adding electronics like dash and LEDs. Older ones are hard to find really clean that's the only downside to them honestly. They just may need a lot of TLC to bring them up to par
Thank you for your review my son was on vacation he called me and ask if I could get his bike serviced so while I had his bike serviced I ask the technician if my son needed tires and yes….so I have them installed the Michelin Pilots 2CT
Keep it real those continental tires are pure trash!!! I have know 2 riders personally who couldnt Make it through a half season with those!!! Pirelli tires are the best Rosso 3, Angel ST, Angel GT, also the Michelin pilot power 2 CT period!!! Anything You Ride thats a 1kcc these tires are da truth!!!! The Dunlop Q3 plus is trash also!! In rain the you'll be in a graveyard and thats why they are discontinuing them. They are only good In the summer on clean roads or on the track period!!! The last Michelin road 5 are trash also they really mushy when you lean into a turn and they don't like to be pushed in a corner or elongated curves. They are not stable and they move around to much. When you are broke and wanna ride hard I suggest save you money and get the proper tire to ride on.
Suka
Thanks so much for the comment =) every single one helps
Sell me those slip ons!!! They sound sooo good!!!
I listened to your opinion and have summarily dismissed it. Why? Because you have zero experience actually riding the R9 and saying that every bike using the CP3 engine is "garbage" is patently untrue. Thanks for saving me the trouble of watching any of your other vids.
@@Ocires1 lol okay ride it then?
#yamaha #motorcycles #r9
I mean you did buy a low version to be fair
Rosso 4 is just the replacement for the Rosso 3, Rosso Corsa 4 is the next tyre on the line up more track orianted compound but still decent street use in dry and wet in the summer than its the Supercorsa sp for mainly track and a bit of road use then its the supercorsa sc for mainly track use.
What grit did you use for wet standing
I love that you put your fail in there too. I'm sure I'll fail first try too!
Nicely Done Amanda. The Camera work needs work, the guy filming sucks balls.
No such thing as a "beginner motorcycle" piss off.
For me no abs, traction control, throttle by wire, Tft display ect is a great selling point for the GSXR. Less electronics to fail and just a somewhat raw machine. Yes needs a quick shifter that’s about it.
Lol after working on a lot of the modern bikes I'm starting to miss the days of less......either that or I'm getting old 🤣
@@akcycles picking up a like new 680 mile 2023 gsx-r600z tomorrow morning. I am 56 been on the street since 17 and dirt before that’s So started and learned on raw bikes and that’s just what I like.
What quick shifter does it have?
I don't remember but translogic makes the best ones in my opinion
Dog shit of a video. Why put zard on title and put music? People want to hear the exhaust.
Love these tires! Have been running Pilot Power 2CTs for 15+ years on multiple bikes… super bikes, sport touring, supermoto, naked bikes, etc.
If you have the suspension set up for your weight with the proper sag then any bike has a great suspension. You just need to tune the springs to your weight.
Not entirely true. The internal valving is what really makes the difference in overall performance. Which is why the KYB on the last gen R6 or even the new R9 is a great stock platform. We'll have more videos over the winter about this topic 👍
First
What a g 💪
I have the same motorcycle. What kind of exhaust have your motorcyle? Great Video 👍🏼
Thank you. It's a two brothers exhaust. Check the link in the description we sell a few options for the Ninja 650s.
Also I think we have another video on our channel specifically about the exhaust
is the front tyre grip good ? even down the mountain on twisties ? have anyone prblems with the grip in the front ?
did you have to jack the engine when doing this?
It's always recommended to have one to support the engine and put a piece of wood between the engine and jack. If you do one side at a time you can sometimes get away with no jack. However, if the engine shifts even just a lil and your threads don't line up perfect don't force it get a jack 👍
@@akcycles what exact jack did you use?
Do you think I could start on a 650 while being 5’10 155 pounds
It depends on your confidence not size. If you take the class and the 250s they have you on make you feel uncomfortable (meaning uneasy or nervous) and you struggle with balance that's fine start on something small. If you were confident on it and had zero issues in the class a ninja 650 is a really fun bike you can learn on. If you are buying new though look into the new Ninja 500. So much cheaper 👌
@ i bought the 650 and it’s been super fun it’s a big difference from the rebel 500 I learned on its lighter and very comfortable too easy to keep up and move
@ you’re video gave me push to go get it bought a 2019 650 with abs
0:28 “ im not gonna be riding this black booty” 😭
Beauty....beauty.....but I don't discriminate just sayin 🤣🤣😍
are you able to remove the x2's charging port cover the same way?
Yes you can just pull the x2 out 👍
I don't understand why we call these beginner bikes. There's plenty of power and manageable throttle control. On City roads in traffic, why would you want to constantly be focused on babying the throttle? These bikes are fun and plenty fast. Believe it or not I've ridden everything from 1100 Ninja which I started on, to 1300 cc's but I am having the most fun right now on a 300 Kawasaki Ninja 2013 SE edition. The 300 is a l little sluggish uphill I'll admit that but still super fun and peppy with plenty of speed for around town and highway Riding. I've also been riding for over 15 years. I agree, at this point a new suspension setup would definitely make it better. Especially since I'm a taller and heavier rider. However, we can always find something wrong with whatever we are riding and can always tweak it to make it better. Great video by the way.
Glad you liked the video 🤗
Ok so I've just brought one 2021 and it's so under powered it's at stock but my friends 600 is faster. It won't wheelie let's it's me but I've got it on sports and rider mode 1. I have a feeling its me with the settings and not the bike but not sure. Any help appreciated
I doubt it's you lol the new zx10r is heavily restricted from the factory. You will need all your rider tcs aids turned off if you want to be able to carry a wheelie for any kind of distance. Your rider mode preset may still have it on which can be changed. I heard it was hard to do stock in general due to the throttle restrictions. A tune from a local tuner or ECU flash makes the bike feel like a completely different bike. Turning your tcs off once flashed is a huge change just take your time to get use to it. It will be a monster I guarantee it 😂 We did a Moore Mafia ECU flash review. Despite the thumbnail it was great after sorting some bugs. I'd highly recommend them if you were to send your ECU out. A local dyno is always best 👍
How come you have the white bottom fairing, i though that was on 2022 and the 2023 is green with red in it
Shhhhhh 🤫🤣
That's what I think
Sick demo, thanks for the opinions too
"I wanted to go straight for the Hayabusa, but as a semi-new rider, I think I'll pick up a 650 and maybe move up later. There's no way I'm starting on a scooter! 😂 I'm a pretty big guy."
Sounds like something I said or thought in another realm 🤣
Yup that’s my exact dilemma right now 😭I want a busa BUT ima new rider I’m also tall soo man idk 650 seems like a nice choice
40th anniversary 500 or the 650l? I'm really torn between them as I absolutely love the 40th colours but I'm stuck riding LAMS for 3years so I believe the torque from 650l would be great (own 500 already). If money wasn't a concern what would you guys buy and why. Thanks heaps in advance
Ninja 650 for sure. Mainly because if you want to modify your bike there is already a bunch of products out there for it. It can take a long time for some models to ever get aftermarket parts to actually be readily available. Also the ninja 650 is a proven platform to be reliable. I am sure the 500 will be as well but you never know. It could end up having issues and needing recalls but you are guaranteed to have a good ownership experience with a ninja 650. However, that's if money is not takin into consideration. The ninja 500 is sooooo much cheaper. If I were a new rider and know I'm not keeping the bike long. I'd get the 500 and save the money for the next bike
i know this video is over a year old now but wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me as im looking to install a full m4 system on my 2023 zx10r. the servo buddy/removal of the servo isn't needed on these with a full exhaust install? and also regarding the baffles, ive seen other videos where people bikes surge and feel like they're going to stall out at low speeds ONLY when they have the baffles out, even with a flash. is this true or is the flash their getting not accounting for the removed baffles? thanks in advance!
For the new zx10r you do not need a servo buddy if you just leave the stock motor in place with the cables removed. If you want the motor removed you should be able to have that disabled in a flash so you don't get a check engine light. We did not notice any stalling issues with the pipe before or after a tune. It had no tune for about a year and no issues. It does have a low idle but I do not think the baffle in or out makes a difference with that. It does supposedly make a big difference on power according to some dyno tuners. I recommend taking it out. The exhaust is loud no matter what and the longer the baffle is in the harder it will be to remove later, just a nature of the M4 GP pipes. I would say people are just not getting the best tunes. I always recommend a local dyno tuner over mail in ones but the Moore Mafia tune was pretty good.
Clark Matthew Moore Mary Jackson Ronald
What fi cleaner did you use? I went to healtech site and it only goes up to 2010 on the zx10r list. But I have a 2023?
It's an Abs bike so the abs version which does cover this year. An abs version should still work fine on a non abs but double check with heal tech
I know little but his tunes seem like they are primarily drag bike oriented. I just get the feeling he may not be the right guy for a canyon bike or track bike. If I am wrong you can let me know, I will not be offended..
Where can I get some short chrome pipes for my 2008? Any good sites....oh and I live in California 😢
Weird my 2024 zx10r feels smooth enough for me I don’t like it too smooth
What’s its usual psi?
