Plugging stuff into the ARP 2600's preamp
that's why you have to keep it simple on tape, the first time is the only one that counts
there is an effect i've found with recording also that decisions get exponentially longer to make as the process goes on. The more committed and vibey a recording is to start the easier it is to work with down the line.
Plot twist: someone actually shows up. 🤣
Amazing. You guys rock. Thank you for this!
That’s fantastic guys! Thank you! 🎉
This is the dumbest video
@PedalTour it’s quite an accomplishment I know
Wish all synth reviews made a song using the synth at the end
You had me at chips-munching
How certain it is that there is overloud second limiter? I can´t find source to this
Other than that really cool sound thanks for this
@@kaidoluht1957 I think it’s more or less a clipper, it talks about it in the original manual
Infinity + 1 ? 😊
What mic/mics were used on the acoustic guitar? Also, was everything here recorded with the Sphere preamps too?
Hey! That acoustic gtr was from a demo recorded years ago, and I can’t remember the mic or preamp unfortunately. I believe it was some kind of small diagram condenser, either an oktava mk012 or a schoeps clone. And the pre was likely either a Capi or an Aurora gtq
Helpful thank you! Your console sounds awesome. Btw have you used the newish Sphere fab 500 preamps or the new graphic 900 eq?
@@herschoolcolors no prob, yeah it’s a fantastic console! We don’t have any of the new sphere stuff, they might be good ? I’ve never used, the brand name is owned by someone who isn’t really connected to the original designs afaik. The graphics in our console are old ones modified to work with the power rails of the eclipse C.
what
Indeed
I have got to record an album here wooooow
Yeah! come on down
Really interesting, thank you!
You're welcome, glad it was interesting
It's pretty amazing that producers could drum replacement sampling with a delay unit in the eighties. Thanks for demonstrating! Fwiw, the comb-filtering effect reminded me of a flanging effect that Derrick May often used on drum loops in his early Detroit techno tunes. I've never seen him asked what device he actually used for that. Probably a cheap stomp box rather than an AMS unit, but that's what your sound reminded me of.
@@AutPen38 yeah I love learning about that old production stuff. Apparently when slightly longer sample times became affordable it was common to use samplers to fly vocal parts around as well.
Superb!
I was always curious about that tiny speaker! Now I know. Thanks man. This was a really cool overview.
sounds really neat, thanks a lot
@@ouzmu thanks for taking a look!
Thank you for satisfying my "digital hoarder-ness" 🤣
you can never have to many samples!
thanks
thanks for taking a listen!
Thanks!
your're most welcome!
Great sounds! Thank you ❤
@@kaiserwilhelmii1827 awesome thanks!
I’ve been doing the same thing with metal drums - recording the drum parts - kick and snare loops, hi hat loops, crash loops. Having different packs for different tempos (so warping has minimal affect on the loops).
@@GoogleAccount-kw1mz oh interesting! That sounds cool
Hell yeah Riley!

Awesome sample pack! Thanks 🙏🏻
@@L71studios amazing! Glad you’re enjoying it
thanks guys!! missed your vids!
Yeah it's been a while!
great video thanks for sharing
Excellent work here!
thanks! this was one of our first videos and it took a lot of time.
thank you so much holy cow
Thank you for watching!
Great video. Currently trying to use this same DI to Reamp with a Neve 88m interface.
Where can i buy it????
you can buy them directly from electrical's website
@@nofunclub2604 i didnt know that!!!! Perfect !!!!!! Thanksssss!!!!!!!
I'll be seeing you guys on the 16th. I'm really looking forward to it. 😁
awesome see you then!
@@nofunclub2604 lol, yup the 12th. 😁
wow wow wow i am in love with these msuic
What did you use to get the oscilloscope reading?
That particular scope was the one built into Reaper, I just screen captured it and added it into the video.
Awesome video on the DMX. The comb filter example really sounds like The effect Eddy Grant used on Electric Avenue to get a motorcycle rev sound. Maybe?
Hi, where i can lising music that has recorded in this beautiful console?
Good recent examples would be the latest Deerhoof, Matt Foster and Tunic releases. Check out Burnstick’s new album too (Drums And bass) tracked on it. Really no compromises aside from less ch’s compared to our Neve. I’d even be so bold to say I prefer it’s pres/eqs for most modern music as well.. incredible console
Thank you!
@@roberthill688Yo, my band wants to record on this. What is your studio called
@@ZeroGNo Fun Club in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada
Winnipeg ? Midddle ? Cold ? If so hello you know the name of take by the tag. We will connect if so..
Hey bro I want to record here I live in Winnipeg a young drill rapper
And the music is pretty dope on a good sounding console!
ai-generated circuitry?
What did you pay for them?
I didn't understand anything lmao :/
What is the advantage of having a half-normaled patchbay? Why would you want to keep the unprocessed signal and where does it go when it's split? Does it blend the compressed 1176 sound with the unprocessed signal because it goes into the half-normaled line input? Thanks for the great video!
I was looking for a video exactly like this. I’m not using tape but I am trying to emulate the workflow using a computer and outboard mixing gear, and this answered all the questions I had
Awesome! Really glad to hear that.
What a garbage video. Not to mention that mullet chick is screaming...I'm a dirty liberal 😂
Listen to those transients, even with TH-cam compresion, imagine in the room with a good pair of full range monitors!
R. Neve as good as he is, could never get rid of the "click" when you insert somethig in of out off the bus, IE, hear the click when he presses "EQ". As a broadcast console, It has very good eq. and preamp. The best output transformers. and design. Neve and API are there at the top and there allways be.
Can you save presets on this unit?
If you have to make a video where everyone is wearing masks...don't make the video.
😂
Albini worship aside...you guys have Burl conversion, so you know that with today's UAD pluggies it is actually not necessary and is still kinda a pain in the ass...unless you go narrow format. Long live the Revox B77!!!
