So this was my first trip to The Bend dragway in the HQ, wasn't sure what to expect but ended up with a time that I'm pretty happy with. Using the White Bread method to remove a spigot bearing

This is the old school technique to remove a spigot bearing if you don’t have the correct tool. Bit of bread, bolt the same diameter as the spigot shaft and a hammer.

Installing a custom Catch can on the LS swapped HQ Holden, OE 8mm breather lines didn't let the air slow down enough to seperate the oil so I'm doing a custom install with some AN-10 lines and weld in bungs.

After last weeks roll racing and barely being able to see out the back of the track I ordered a set of Stedi LED Homage 7.5” replacement lights. Install was quick and painless and the light output is great.

Took the HQ up to The Bend for some roll racing, first time I've roll raced and first time driving the HQ in anger. Very happy with how it performed, drove 150k's there, about 15 races all up and then 150k's back home.

Feels like an enternity but I've finally gotten the HQ engineered and registered, drives really sweet and can't wait for some track days to stretch it's legs

Finally put together a small video of my day at morpowa’s dyno. Had an o2 sensor issue which took some time to resolve, dead on arrival sensor 😩 but ended up making some good runs and coming out with 316kw on the hubs. Everything, engine , trans and diff are new so it may increase when it all frees up a little. Should make for a fun street car . LS1 out to 402" Bullet cnc 241 heads Crane Cam 14...

The centre pinion bearing failed, housing was warped from the welds on it, all the suspension bushes have had to be replaced already. So in short no would not buy again.

Hi, do you need to drop the tank in the hq to get to the fuel sender unit?
The original Hq one no, it’s a bit tight but can get to it above the diff. Mind you the tank comes out very easily so I would definitely recommend taking it out if you’re doing any work on it.
Dose the ve sender have clearance between the floor and tank or dose the tank need to be dropped
@joeleonello1526 it does need some clearance, some people cut the floor and put a small box in the boot, I spaced the front of my tank down to give the clearance.
Auto meter did send me an email with the file but watching the video made it easy for me to download and update the system now my c10 has the 4th display thanks a lot
Imagine being able to replace the headlights without taking the whole front end off ..... yes VE I am looking at you. Those Stedi's look great to me on the HQ

This shop that has no grease?
This isn’t a shop, just our home garage. Plenty of grease mate, grease is a messy method and the cost is way higher than one slice of bread! Thanks for the comment.

Next use whole grain. The extra fiber helps free the bearing loose.
If you use seeded brown bread it goes faster.
Fuck all the negative commenters. I’ve seen the bits of rag in grease method, but bread is something new to learn. Another tool in the brain box can’t hurt
I used paper towel and grease to do the same job earlier this year.
Would've been much faster if he hit it with his purse.
Show us yours mate, he’s never done this before and 6m total to do something totally out of his league is pretty good.

Bread really.? You can just use some old rags lying around. Everybody has rags and just wet pieces and punch them in there one by one until bearing comes out

The heater rubber grommets go on the cover first before you fit the cover to the firewall, way easier fitment 👍

Would depend if you were getting the signal for your Speedo from the ecu or direct from the trans. I’m getting the signal from the ecu but had to put a different speed sender in the t400 to make the LS ecu happy

Yes, out of a VX commodore.

How much torque she put out bud couldnt read it on dyno screen.
Went 620nm at 2900 mate

Speaking as a YANK, that's a good project car. But I rather put a V-8 in it, instead of that V-6. It's going to be a very good car once you're finished with it. Good luck. 👍 Greetings from the U.S.
How you get updates

The worst thing that people do is remove bolts and nuts and through them in a bucket and when it comes time to reassemble don`t know what is what, so I always tell my apprentices to either put the items in a bag and label them eg: left front guard, tail shaft. Or refit the bolts / nuts back onto the piece removed. this make it a lot easier to reassemble, also there are also different length bolts to contend with, so notice what you take out. Cheers and good luck love to see the finish.
I might get one for my 72 dart that price tho is a little terrifying, but it looks to be pretty damn good.
Luckily I got mine when the Aussie dollar was a little stronger, almost twice the price now 😞

Hay.... Nice HQ!.... & I have to say the stedi head light kit really suit the car, personally I think it gives it a modern look. I'm looking into the same idea with my VC valiant utility as it has the old school seal beams & of course there terrible.... Regards....rob.
