At Copper Knoll Farms, our mission is to produce the highest quality products that reduce stress and anxiety while promoting self care. We strive to manage our farmland and forest in an environmentally friendly, sustainable manner while conserving resources and wildlife. Our goal is educate and share our farm with customers to enhance their understanding of how forest ecosystems can be productive agricultural spaces.
4-H Pigs
Our children have been raising hogs in our forest for their 4-H projects. The pigs have enjoyed a diet of nuts, roots, and grain feed. They also received daily belly rubs and head scratches. Through this experience, our kids have learned about expenses, record keeping, and animal care.

Perfect timing. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do with it. Some of the stems have died completely 🫤 I’m bulling this will bring the rest of the plant back to life.

What lavander you think is more compact?
Angustifolias (English) Lavender are the most compact. Intermedias (French) are much larger

My lavender is already established but I’m never sure when exactly to harvest it
We have a video about that coming up! If you want to harvest for bouquets for fresh or dried it’s best to cut them when 1/3 of the flowers are open on each stem. This will help keep the buds intact if you decide to dry them.
Does this work for French lavender, too? Just been out and trimmed my English lavender; thanks for reminding me.

I’d love lavender in my garden! So do you cut it every few weeks in the first year and when the second spring comes around, you just let it do it’s thing?
We cut the buds off every week the year it is planted so the plant grows larger. Then the second year you can enjoy it! 💜

If you want to keep checking you should put a camera in there if you can because it is illegal to harm harass them or interfere with the nesting process
Thanks for the comment but we are trained and under supervision of the NJ Bluebird Society. Quickly checking boxes as part of actively monitoring of a bluebird trail is not harmful or harassing them. Also, The Migratory Bird Treaty Act protects the removal of active *native* birds nests and eggs. We are simply recording data from our trail and reporting it to NJBBS for research purposes.
