Which Pickups are in your Tele?
Very very nice job
Awesome lesson, thanks for the inspiration!
Put your guitar in standard tuning and play like its in drop d
Capricho Arabe is a prime example that drop D is a lot more than just easy power chords.
I think you are talking too much about something you don’t play and compare … 👎🏻👎🏻
What is the name of this backing track? Is it available for download? I can't seem to find it on your website
Open tunings are way more interesting . Drop d just means your standard e position is dropped a step
What pickups do you recommend as the CV upgrade? I have a cool doublebound Squier, but I want to upgrade the pickups, and I want a better neck. Recommendations?
So funny this is exactly what i have noticed weeks ago and worked on since then. It helps my playing a lot. It´s such a big tool for melodic and professional soloing.
The faces comes with the tuning
excelente geniooooo
Love drop D. Lamb of God and Psycroptic come to mind. But I love this style of playing too, and now I’m just a meathead metal player trying to learn how to slow down and play some beautiful melodies.
Tele is the most emotional and powerful, brutality 8)
Do a quick lesson on inversions that would be awesome. Btw I bought your course and love it!! Thank you, Joey!
No, thank YOU for choosing my course!
I thought the cheat code was pulling a face for a second
What a STUPID video ☝️
⚡️Sounds like Nick Johnston⚡️
00:28-1:17 made me subscribe... That was EPIC! Reminded me a lot of Mark Tremonti 👌
If you learn triads all over the neck for a given chord and different voiced (inverted) triads and use those notes from the triads and the inversions of those triads to create solos,.you can not lose. Triads created from the root, 3rd and 5th notes of the key or targeted chord. Use any combination of the 1st, 3rd and 5th. Always taking special note of where the root (1st) is in every case. This was a great example of how effective it is !
Agree!
Tasty
This explains why your solos have such a melodic sound and feel. This is very helpful.
That’s just a base concept, I go much deeper on melodic concepts in my courses.
Come on Dude, nut width ? it's the distance across your two nuts .................. Nut Width .......
GOATED
Great lesson! I'm sounding a little more pro already.
Glad to hear that!
Very nice. Your essentially using B major caged shapes, correct?
Correct. Just wanted to simplify it a little bit and not throw around all sorts of terms. I’ve had good results showing people just 3 examples of something, so it’s easy and digestible. 🤘🏻
@joeyjooones Cool. After 40 years of playing modes I finally sat down and learned caged and am now studying triads to try and tie everything together so this really hit home!
Wonderful tone! Made me buy the pedal today! haha! What is that beautiful Telecaster? A vintage Telecaster or a custom shop? Cheers!
I just came across you last night and ended up diving down the rabbit hole. Love your phrasing and tone. There were multiple times that i was picking up Seether and Joe Bonamassa vibes. Would you consider them influences? Or do you feel you simply share influences with them?
Love both, definitely influenced by JB.
Because it is a Necdiving hellguitar...I have an Gibson SG..HP 2019 its a good guitar. BUT.necdiving hell
I remember discovering Drop D on a whim when I was young… “HOLY SH!T… HELMET!”
There's no wrong way in music
What a bonehead.First lesson to this beginner. There is no"right or wrong".Just different ways of doing things.
Laurindo Almeida's version of "The Lamp is Low" is in dropped-D.
Best do nothing know it all coments section in history!
I've been playing primarily in drop d since 1992 after hearing Undertow by Tool. While your playing and sound are really nice, I was hoping to find something different here. You've only scratched the surface of possibilities in drop d. Puts me in the mindset to do my own video on how I approach and utilize the tuning. Thanks for that.
Great playing. 👍
Awesome video just wish when you looped and did the solos that you threw in what scales were being targeted
sounds normal...a great sounding guitar. speaker, mics and all. its probably the patch cable that the crazy tone comes from.
Hey Joe i had a gang of amps over the years, i still have some but i prefer the marshall jcm 800, the one i have is promlematic, i believe its an old tube socket. it works good then fades to nothing. i paid 250.00 to have it repaired but again got ripped off and its the same. i have a fender twin that for me is useless but i could use it if i wanted to its up for sale, i have a junk marshall twin that is mg 250 dfx and it is junk, it hums and makes way too much noise that sounds like a bad cord or other crap. i'm so sick of buying junk, i tried to get expencive and cheap, they all die out, i had two marshall super duel lead 100 wat that i sold they were junk at 1700.00 each, the bogner idea sounds good but i was leaning toward mesa or 5150, am i gonna be making grave mistakes? buying used is ok if its from a place that takes returns that is close. nothing is safe on used, it can be a dud. i have 2 4x12 marshal cab for the basement just need a good head to power them, should i go 50 or 100 wat?
That riff demo with the lead reminds me a lot of porcupine tree for some reason … like blackest eyes mid section or shallow mid section
Most of us figured that out within a few hours of tuning that top chord
Great playing! Yeah I have a bunch of these guitars you mentioned. And some you don’t. Vintera road worn,Highway One,a Joe Strummer one, they are all fine guitars I think. I think I even have a Classic Vibe somewhere. I have an American V 2 Strat that’s awesome so I’m not sure about the hate on that series. But today…… I entered the Fender Custom Shop club! 52 Journeyman Relic Nocaster Blonde……. OMG what a beast! Anyway keep making vids. They’re great!
I honestly prefer the cheaper one.
Inversions are a necessary tool to use alternate tunings correctly..
You play really well. I am surprised this is the 1st time I have ever heard you.
How things changes in 5 months (and with a free guitar from Fender?) th-cam.com/video/EKH0RrtkdyI/w-d-xo.html
Don’t tell me what I’m doing right or wrong!😂
Many other ones from yours. Use your pinky too on the one finger chords. You will find it easy.
