    I laugh at the Left jumping on every tid bit of information to try and claw back some of the credibility they lost over the last 6 years. They are doing that now, because the more water under the bridge, the better we get, and the more this country recovers. Its early days, but at the end of the next term in Govt, National will have whipped our hapless economy back into shape. My only hope is that we don't then hand the reins back to the left so they can do what they did last time again. That is, ruin us. Dont forget people.

    Im not voting act after Seymore wants to re-inflate house prices. Our youth are leaving because they cant afford to start families because the cant afford to buy home. What a simpleton. Instead he wants foreigners to buy our homes and have their families here. But they leave as soon as they get a passport, because they are of course economic migrants. They move on up and out. Kiwis, want to stay because they have history and family support here. But 27 year olds have no way of affording a home when rent is do high. Seymore is akin to being a traitor. The more you raise house prices and invite instant kiwis who leave ASAP once a, passport is, gained the more you push out our youth to Austrslia. Kiwi are more likely to return due to family if housing gets cheaper, but instant kiwis wont. Grow a brain seymore!

    This is Groundhog Day - almost the same rhetoric of the Lange government that headed up Roger Douglas's GST introduction and the sale of state-owned enterprises in some zealous crusade to pay back debt. All it did was drive New Zealand further into debt, selling off great enterprises like NZ Rail and Telecom for a song. The country witnessed the worst recession ever. Taxing and selling stuff does not get you out of a recession. It seems counterproductive, but the opposite is true - you have to ease taxes and increase spending. i.e., you have to create heat and fuel before you can get a fire going. Removing fuel and heat only results in a dampened smolder. It is a shame none of these politicians seem to have any idea of business or how to generate wealth.

    • @danielpye7738
      @danielpye7738 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      “Increase spending” On what? Easing taxes creates more revenue for the government, in the US. Capitalism still works very well there despite the Democrats best efforts and the Yanks just realised that it’s best for them. Here not so much, too many hands out who get given what they demand. Without the increase in productivity or service.

      @@danielpye7738 To previous ACT, NZ First, and National are the coalition government, and as ACT is talking about fiscal records in this interview, it is taking responsibility as part of the coalition. Yes, the government has control over the Reserve Bank, although it is generally understood that the Reserve Bank should act independently. But ultimately, this is the people's bank, governed by the elected government. If you think about it, there was no thought of inflation during the spend-up over COVID and after, but then came a full reverse. Labour installed Adrian Orr with a view to increase unemployment and reduce house prices, just like John Key signed up to the Kyoto Protocols, which has led to us paying $1.4 billion per year in carbon defaults. This does not mean these appointees or agreements can’t be overturned or thrown out. Each elected government can alter or change the direction. So, the coalition government is complicit in continuing bad policy from previous governments.

      @@danielpye7738 When people buy wine, it increases sales at liquor shops, retailers, grape growers, bottle and label makers, etc. Multiple people and businesses benefit People spend on a mix of things, ranging from what seem like direct investments, such as mining for minerals, to indirect ones like wine, which stimulate domestic trade and international exports. Trying to pay off your house mortgage in one year will only end in bankruptcy. Increasing your share of the market, however, will boost returns for many, and the upward spiral gradually extends in many directions.

    • @SuthernSunshine
      @SuthernSunshine 24 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @@danielpye7738Capitalism doesn't work in the US. The Chinese practically bought their leadership. Every move feckface Biden made helped the CCP. Further, their politicians are on the make, ie Pelosi and Hillary, Bidens. Insider trading, privatising tax dollars via wars etc. Everything can be bought under capitalism. The health system their is effed also. Its a free for all for health insuerers, and hospitals and services love it, but the individual suffers. That country is on its way down really fast. Fiat systems always collapse. NZ, is also a Fiat system. CCP is practically running the Whitehouse. Trump will hold em off in the short term. After that..? Brics will have its, own system. Nzz needs to stay with what weeere and keep our sovereignty. In the 60s we had the 2nd best economy in the world. Youth had a reason to be properous, state housing was in abundance for Kiwis. Some could opt to buy. Now we jave a cycle of economic migrants raising housing costs and rents who eventually head to Aussie as soon as they have an NZ passport. They often sell their homes to the next migrant family. Cuts out our youth who either cant afford to buy a home or syst a family, or our youth leave for Australia, where housing is also expensive, but they get higher wages.
