not working for me. the connection via browser to the [IP]:[PORT] is not working. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED is there something else I need? phpmyadmin? tried the same on my synology and on my qnap. none of them is working Docker Terminal Log: Fatal: role "studioserver" does not exist

So can this also backup the actual footage?

I can't seem to get past the sudo nano /etc/14/main/postgresql.conf stage. Every time I type that in I get an error code that says "[ Directory '/etc/14/main' does not exist ]" I thought maybe it was a versioning issue, so I tried 15, and 17, but I'm having the same issue each time. Trying to get this installed on my UGREEN NAS running linux Debian. For the record I am a 100% complete noob at terminal commands and am just trying to be able to save my resolve project files on my NAS for remote work.

Hey, thanks for the vid! On my current version of Unraid, I didn't have the red cross next to the drive at around the 12:18 mark in the video. The clear function seems to be off by default (called "destruction mode") and needs to be added in settings for anyone wondering for future reference!

I had a had time until I noticed the eth0 part of macvlan settings and looked up what mine was on my Synology DS1821+. Soon as I changed that to eth5 everything ran really smoothly. Thank you for this!

Hello, It's great video, but I watched till the install and deploy section. I have a Synology NAS, so tried to install on that. I had problem, got an error as "error response from daemon: failed to create the macvlan port: device or resource busy." If I changed the IP's got other errors, but this is with the correct IP's. I had to find out when creating the macvlan, as the parent is incorrect in my case. In your video is "eth0", in my case is "ovs_eth0". Possible because I have VM installed. Worth to mention in the video description, if facing an issue, check with the command <ifconfig> what is the correct parent. Same as where can find the NAS IP address. Now it's time to watch the rest of your video! :)

Hi, yet again you have come to my rescue. Your video clearly explains what needs to be done. I'd pretty much done it on my own, but I forgot the part where you have to stop the array to actually add the disk DOH! The good news is that i'm up and running with a shiny new 8TB Ironwolf HDD added to my Unraid server. Its amazing just how much storage you consume when you start adding UHD Blu-Rays to your media collection. Thanks for your clear explanations.

Does Ubuntu server have a gui interface? Most video I saw on a headless server add a gui as root. Not sure if it can be done in vm.

If the camera already came with an internal ND filter why did you purchase a 3rd party ND filter & turn off the internal one ? My ZV-1 does not come with a hook on the camera body to attach the string leash & its also super difficult to attach it to the adaptor so I eventually gave up when the black olive attachment fell off. The latter issues defeats the whole purpose of the leash. None of the youtube videos show anybody actually attaching it at both ends Hmmm!

Thank you so much for creating this... and for making this tutorial. Just btw the mkdir part wasn't obvious from the written instructions, but I do have a habbit of skimming! I've set this up on an AWS EC2 instance. the web dashboard seems to work no problem after i opened the port, but resolve will not connect, even if I enable all traffic on the ec2 (i.e. disable the firewall) is there a configuration that i'm missing potentially. I know that EC2 instances have an internal and external IP address. I'm just confused that the web dashboard works fine but resolve can't connect manually or with the key file...

I created a Win11 VM and installed the official software, and after 30 minutes of trying to figure out why it wasn't working and connecting, I found this project, which seems to work incredibly well and runs on Docker (so no need for Windows or macOS), ideal for my Proxmox server... I'm beyond surprised that this is not the official way to do it. AMAZING work, thank you so much <3

Just trying this out now, decided to move the command into a compose .yaml file, and now have three systems using it. thank you for putting all the pieces into one place!

Finally got it working as my previous Postgres install can requiring me to update the pg_hba.conf file everytime I updated my NAS... anyway I can pull that database into the new one so I don't have to rebuild ever project? I tried installing to the same IP but couldn't access the dashboard unless I followed the exact IP settings listed in the documentation. Now I have two postgres project servers on my Synology NAS.

Is it possible to remote into the database with Docker on Qnap?

Question... So I did this, everything worked using the IP address. However, I'd like to be able to refer to this VM by its hostname rather than IP. When I try to ping it by hostname, I get an error saying that the ping request could not find the host. Any suggestions as to where to look for this? Is it in Unraid somewhere?

Should colaboration also work with remote stations (via dyndns und portforwarding of the two ports-singleuser already woks,only colab is crashing)? Thanks so much in advance.

Just found this after searching for a way to collab (with myself) on editing across two machines. Been using Syncthing for moving files back and forth between two systems, and having to remember to export and save to the local directory. Been a pain when I forget to take OBS recordings and put them into the proper directory, resulting in lost time and effort if I'm not near my regular machine. Found your original video to setup postgres on Ubuntu (because I didn't want to install project server on a resource hungry windows machine either), and saw you'd made updates to have a dockerized version. Easiest freaking install ever. UI is slick and easy, everything got setup per the docker commands and I'm about to put my project into it. thanks for the help and you've got a new subscriber!

I can't believe that I finally got it to work! NO OTHER TUTORIALS on the internet even mentioned the firewall settings for PostgreSQL (creating a rule, and the port number). I have spoken with Blackmagic, and they referred me back to the manual so many times, I was sick over it. I used this rule to fix my network tabs on iPad Pro, Microsoft Surface, and two other editing stations on Resolve 18.6. Saves me on the storage plan, especially with my Cloud Pod. 😀

This is so cool! Currently testing this out on Ubuntu 22.04, working so far! Just a couple question - i know i can change the backup path but its on a .gz file extension. Can i change this to a SQL extension or something similar? - like prevous comments, if my system crashes whats the best way to restore any backups or project files in docker after re-creating it on another machine?

Great video. Thanks. You said something that is not quite correct... you said that the largest drive you can install into an Unraid server must be equal to or less than the size of the parity disk. This is true only when talking about adding a disk to the array. You can still install a larger disk into an Unraid server as an unassigned disk. Alternatively, you could replace the existing parity disk with the new larger one, use the old parity disk as a data disk and add that to the array, then rebuild parity. You would have a period where the array is not protected by parity but you could still potentially do that safely if you have backups. It is a small point but I just wanted to mention that so people don't get the wrong info.

After selecting the try/install option I get an Ubuntu splash screen then black and it stays black. This walkthrough is not working for me. Any advice is welcome.
