Our First Offroad ride on Atlas - Our New BMW R1250gs Adventure
Time to jump back to early April, first weekend with the new bike & keen to get out on some gravel roads in our backyard here in the South West of Western Australia. Taking it pretty easy to get a feel for the bike, following a couple of trails we put together to ride through the Ferguson Valley, Grimwade to Balingup, Nannup & back across the scarp towards Bunbury.

      @@scotthuxtable5121 thanks for watching We did actually also test ride the KTM 1290r and the Harley Pan America both really great bikes but at complete opposite ends of the scale the KTM is super off-road oriented just like the 1090 was and we really wanted something more comfortable for adventure touring where the Harley is more on road and not as off road capable as the BMW in our opinion For what we are looking to do we think the BMW has the best road touring along with great off-road also. I think if we weren’t TwoUp then I would have stuck with the KTM 1290 as it is an amazing bike that for sure. We really are spoilt for choice these days with so many bikes on the market. Cheers

      @reganrides 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@stoneybd we are using Continental TKC 80 on the front which I think is a great tyre amazing off-road and still very predictable on road with not to much road noise, the rear is Motoz Tractionator adventure this my go to rear tyre I consistently get 10k km out of these and again a great off-road tyre some say they are terrible on wet sealed roads but I never push the limits in the wet so have never had any problems with it. They do become a little noisy as they wear. Tyres are a hard thing to get right as there is always a compromise for us we would rather have better off road use and just ride a little slower and not push the limits on road. Hope this helps thanks again for watching. 😁

    I grew up in Central Otago and as a kid all I wanted was a motorbike to go and explore all the awesome tracks there, but my mum was one of those worrying types, wouldn't let me have one because she thought I'd immediately die. So, I did what I could on my BMX and later my mountain bike, but there's only so far you can go on a mountain bike in a day and still be back in time for tea. Now, all these years later I'm about to purchase my very first motorbike and I can't wait to get back to Central and ride all of the tracks I wanted to ride as a kid. Hey @Dannyboy974 we have managed to get a few nights on the new pads after initially having to much air in them the first night where we rolled around on top of them we reduced the air and had a very comfortable sleep the next night. Big thing we like is they are not noisy like our old Sea 2 summit pads and being able to button them together means they don’t slide around underneath you. All in all a great product the biggest down side is the foot pump and we have recently brought a flex tail tiny pump to blow them up as the built in pump is painfully slow. Should be able to give to a good review after we return from our next NZ trip which starts at the end of the week. Yes we are taking our camp gear this trip. So many water crossings 😱. This looks like so much fun but very hard work I would imagine for one person let alone being two up! Awesome effort and amazing scenery 👌🏻.

      Thanks for checking the channel out. Plenty of water crossings all throughout NZ so you tend to get good at them after a while. It can be a little challenging at times, we do try not to get ourselves into situations we cant handle but sometimes we get caught.

    Wow that brought back some memories 😊. Travelled this by bus 33 years ago on my way to bungee jump!. Whole thing was an amazing experience. Probably be even better if I did it on my motorbike 😁. Great video guys 👍
