  • Becky Kellar, Olympic and World champion, is with us again to discuss all six teams as we head into the second season of the PWHL! Which team might have goaltending issues? Will the new players adjust to the physical style? Are injuries a factor, and does the length of the season affect how teams approach the start?

    Yeah! Stecklein mentioned! She's my favorite player. But since she's more of a pure defender she doesn't often get the spotlight on her. (although that wicked longshot from the preseason game certainly did). I can't wait to see how the season shapes up. So much potential across all the teams.

    Toronto had no injuries at all last regular season, and they're starting this one with two... with the Euro Tour, Rivalry and Worlds sandwiched in the season, I think plain good luck of keeping your best players healthy will be main factor of making the final four or not

      @@jeanlanglois7892 As Becky said, the schedule is about a third of the NHL, so missing 4-5 games is like 12-15. And missing Spooner is basically like missing McDavid or Matthews. It’s going to be a challenge to say the least.

    So excited to kick off another season! Of course predictions will probably not stand the test of time. Mine never do.

    An issue with Ottawa is holding late leads and OT/SO's are a very serious problem. 6 OT loses last season and they opened this season with yet another loss in a SO. Also spending too much time in the box which with the new rule this season needs to be cleaned up.

    Very insightful interview. I am not sure how Kellar arrives at the conclusion that Minnesota will have a repeat win next year! Not liking Curl and Zumwinkle on the same line.

      @@nathalieconnor5803 I don’t think she said they would, just that they might - like last year, there is so much parity. Hope it’s as close as it was last season right until the end!

      It made sense what she said about the first two lines on each team canceling each other out. So the third line is the one to watch. If I understand the 'No Escape' Rule correctly, much is going to be expected of them. What team has 2-way players on that line? Surely they are a rare breed!

      Minnesota has the best depth of any team. Curl and Petrie will be the best rookie pair and one of them could win rookie of the year

      @ Curl has to stay out of the sin bin first.

    "Les Savage et Sauvage ainsi que leur dimuntif Sauvageau rappellent le caractère peu sociable du porteur, comme le solitaire qui vit dans la forêt sauvage, qui vient de salvage ou salvaye, qui en est une variante" Extrait de "Votre Nom et son histoire, Les nom de famille au Québec" (2006)

    • @guillaumelevasseur277
      @guillaumelevasseur277 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Translation : "The names Savage and Sauvage and their shortened version Sauvageau remind us of the less sociable character of their wearers, likening them to the solitary figure which lives in "la forêt sauvage" (literally the savage forest in english modern lingo, untamed and wild) a word which comes from both "salvage" ann "salvaye" which is a derivative." From "Your name and its history : the family names of quebec" (2006...so basically yeah... it's a common root, but we rarely use Sauvage as a "badass" epithet the way english people use Savage, but maybe we should. @@guillaumelevasseur277 interesting. When I heard the word "sauvage" it was often in a derogatory sense.

      @@guillaumelevasseur277 I like it though, in either language. Imagine having SAVAGE on the back of your jersey...! Daniele Sauvageau is a winner, plain and simple.
