The Cautious Optimist
Turned an old Reason 5 demo from October 2013 into a wee ambient piece. Recorded everything 2nd Nov. 2023. The (kind of lame) piano patch is from Yamaha TG500, through some pedals and recorded on my old 70s Pioneer tape deck. End arpeggio is 101.
Footage is from the viewpoint at Castle Semple Loch, Lochwinnoch.

'Treetops' (2013) - 2023 Rework
มุมมอง 54811 หลายเดือนก่อน
Revisiting a very old recording of mine from 2013/2014. The original track was one of my first attempts at ambient/electronic music (pre-EPs etc.) and was based around this really broken sounding, heavily filtered organ sample. For this version I took the full original sample and made a tape loop from it, which I'm playing in live on the Tascam 424. I think this just makes it sound a bit more u...
'Up With The Dawn': 4 track tape demo recording
มุมมอง 1.4K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
linktr.ee/paulgstewart Taking a break from recording my new album to mess about with the 4 track. Tried to adhere to a pretty strict old-school approach of bouncing down tracks to another deck then back into the Tascam for overdubs, then back into the second deck again for final mix. I enjoy the challenge and limitations of this method of recording, its a bit humbling and forces you to be organ...

'Skipping Stones'
มุมมอง 337ปีที่แล้ว
From a trip down to the loch on 12th November 2022. I was working on a tune and really wanted the sound of skipping stones on ice, but couldn't find any decent recordings or videos online to sample from. I was hoping the loch would freeze over a bit at least this winter so that I could go down and make my own recordings and it did for the first time in a while which was cool. I've kept the vide...

Recording Impulse Responses in a Stairwell (April 2022)

A sort of "part 2" to my previous (and much cooler) video of recording impulse responses in a derelict chapel (th-cam.com/video/YG2Ys8awtSA/w-d-xo.html). Still got loads of ideas of places I want to do this in, so I intend to make this a bit of a series. I love the whole concept of IRs. I always forget that all you need is a balloon and a mic (you could totally get away with a phone nowadays). ...

I miss my dog.
Amazing, dude.
some dude in a grey t-shirt produces music like its from another planet. how can he just have 1480 subscribers.
This is the next best thing after a live performance from Richard David James aka Aphex Twin. Good job sir. You moved all of us.
Beautiful! I'd love to hear a rendition of Plaid from you
I am sobbing
i love this
Thank god you made this I hate the talking in the original one
People always exaggerate on things like this but i genuinely think this is the best cover out there. AFX would be proud to learn his music inspired this, i’m sure of it.
HOWD YOU GET THAT SOUND ON YOUR KORG??! WOW
Wow. 10/10, the whole video, original and reversed.
Some times I can't believe my ears from the craziness of the song 😴🔥
This is amazing!
Great job, though too bad you didn't do the fade out (my favourite of all time), it would have been very interesting to hear your version of it.
the comfort this song gives me...
Damn dude, really good job! 👏🏼 the patches, effects, and tape sounds are so on point.
It's offically been 2 years since you uploaded this, and I just wanna say that im so glad you did because it's byfar one of the most majestic things i've ever heard
Killed it guys
So cool !!!!
what pedal is the micro korg being fed through ?
Request here! 'Adrift' by Tycho...?
@@richardwhite557 I've written it down 😊 Busy with another project at the moment but more videos to come. Thanks!
@@PaulGStewart No worries at all. Your covers are so on point. Thank you!
Nice sound 👌
I love how the smoke passes along while you hit that first chord
Great cover. True to the original, but not like a sterile xerox copy. Its unique.
so so lovely
Got to give credit to the user Nobody for introducing me to this brilliant piece. :)
Seriously brilliant work on this track Paul !
Amazing work! ❤
Can you make this exact one without the dialogue
This is the best recreation of afx's works i've ever heard. Fascinating how the synth sounds one to one as the original one. Imo you've done a great job covering this one 👍
Phenomenal! Great job on this! Thanks for sharing!
This is amazing!!!
Good cover congratulation !
Awesome stuff man, very Tangerine Dream-esque. Lovely pad sound especially, degradation from the analogue mix-down gives the whole thing a warm authenticity.
Can you do a extended version of this :)
Nice one
Beautiful
Hey Paul, long-time-no-see! Just happened upon this as it's one of my all-time favourite songs, and it's honestly incredible how faithful to the original track you've got the sound; awesome production man. Glad to see you're still making music and spreading the gospel of RDJ & BoC, building up quite the collection of hardware too! Been enjoying your original work too, keep it up! Take it easy man
Spellbindingly exotic. Such a journey this provides.
Bittersweet melancholy. You have the gift of beautiful creation that expresses the universal.
Glorious! Eclectic.
What did you use to sequence the S3000? Forgive me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t have an internal sequencer correct. I assume you just connected it to your computer but I figured I’d just try and find out lol
Hi! I usually sequence my synths and sampler with Reaper
awesome, so beautiful, thank you very much ❤
So beautiful 🙌
You change my day… thanks for all and please …. go on!
P E R F E C T
Coolest shit I've ever seen
Fucking beautiful
It's a Melodie full of Harmonie.
i remember replaying this on vinyl so many times
