Originally, it was supposed to be the background music for a short radio spot advertisement for a local bookstore... Later, this project was canceled, and the conception didn't work well, not even at the SFX level (it was too busy...). After all, swapping musical themes every 2 seconds was an interesting challenge...

Experiments with generative music in orchestral contexts... There is no written note in this scene, only some Arps, LFOs, MIDI chords, and similar stuff... and of course a finger to play... I'm just putting back this capture from 2022... fun

You really did a great job, what immediately stands out is an excellent orchestration ability. You accompanied the scene very well, congratulations!
Thank you so much 🤗
This is so impressive. You're a wonderful musical world builder! Thanks for treating our ears 🙃
Thank you so much. I'm glad you like it. 🤗
Your scores are sick as always.
Thanks 😁
Man this is incredible both in composition of themes and in orchestration! And what an amazing work in dynamics! Really impressing track! Are they mostly recorded by a midi or made through the computer?
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it. Everything is edited manually in the MIDI editor. Recording can't work well and efficiently for me where a track is automated with at least 10-12 parameters, and I don't have usable keyboard playing skills... Maybe it'll be change a bit in the future: as a former woodwind player, a couple of days ago I began to use EWI and I really enjoy it 🤗
@@ferencbatri Ok, it is difficult for me too, so I understand. I was a trombone player before so I may feel what you say. Keep on this wonderful work bro!
Thanks for the encouragement; that's what I'll do. 🙌
Hey friend! Impressive, a masterpiece. It reminds me of a very Williams-esque style, with elegant and sophisticated orchestration, something I'm far from being able to do myself just yet. Let's say my style is more Zimmer-like. My sincerest congratulations! Cheers.
Thank you, I'm very grateful for that. Indeed, I won't deny that I'm a big fan of John Williams' music.😇
This is fantastic! Your spotting for rhythm, texture, and emotion was 👌. Skillful orchestration as always!
Thanks a lot 🤗
Brilliant work as usual. Well done!
Thank you, I appreciate it much :)
goat!
Thank you so much :)
Bravo Ferenc! Absolutely unprecedented MIDI orchestration, you do it better than maybe most of the professionals out there. CSS is an absolutely gorgeous sample library and you use 100% of its power.
Thank you so much, David, it means a lot. ...yeah, CSS has a soul, and I always discover something more nuanced, tiny thing in it, piece by piece. But of course, it costs for extra work: for example, I design automation curves exclusively by hand for 42 parameters on the five string section tracks (a combined racked instrument with the CSSS, as a two-layered library on four MIDI tracks, etc.). This can be exhaustive (but also exciting) so I really appreciate your excellent attention. 🤗
@@ferencbatri I can hear you are doing it by hand, it is the only proper way to create a MIDI orchestral piece. Millions of mousing on curves, re-automating it after auditioning it over and over and 42 parameters, wow! No wonder it sounds so good. I know a lot of composers who do MIDI but man, most of them barely touch this excellence. Hope to get to some competition composing also but currently I gotta focus on other stuff hehe.
such an amazing score, the tension & release is so satisfying! all the best for this round!
Thank you so much 🤗
There's one of the three winners right here. Bravo
thank you so much :)
Wonderful and gently orchestration...the crescendo is very well built. Rhythmic is fantasticly well introduced with the brass.....Great job!!! I really appreciate your imagination, there are very delicate and beautiful passages, I truly love it.......Best of luck on the competition!!!! I submitted mine few days ago too...Cheers Idol 😉👍
Thank you so much 🤗
Amazing!!! I kept forgetting this is all samples... just incredible.
Thanks a lot 🤗
Bravo! I regret having missed BIFSC2025, the animation is amazing, I had already seen that from the sound design competition
Thank you so much 🤗
@@ferencbatri The score is really good and could easily make it to the top 3, good luck!
I don't think they'll open the competition to previous winners this year either... I'm just taking part in creating something hopefully exciting for a nice short movie ;)
This is incredible orchestral work, excellent storytelling!
Thank you so much, Elijah, I appreciate much :)
GREAT !!!
Thank you :)
This is what I call - great service for the video, not for the ego. Amazing work, man. I love it. I liked the overall balance.
Thank you so much 🤗
Awesome Ferenc, nice deep subs. How's the animation made?
Thank you so much. I made it in Maya (nParticles and MASH 3D motion graphics toolkit...)
Wow!

Very nice job Ferenc.

Thank you so much
This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing this!
Great track! Would you do a breakdown of which synths etc you used?
Thank you. I made a video ;) th-cam.com/video/As0perrGIDA/w-d-xo.html
This is so awesome. Gives me the chromo trigger vibes... most relaxing to me. I love it. Such nice harmony work
Thank you so much
Amazing!
@@歐陽可威 thank you so much

Fantastic

How do you get your pieces to sound so clear? It's Beautiful!
Thank you. Usually, I clean the sound at the instrument, section, and master level too with EQ, and smart:eq, and use Soothe 2 as a resonance suppressor, sometimes I use a mixer desk simulation plugin on the section for further coloring. I use Cinematic Rooms Professional as reverb and Ozone for mastering, Usually, I don't use compression only a few in certain cases (brass, percussion, epic...). Carefully balanced mic settings for each library, I prefer more definition (close mic), and after mixing some filtered ambient with super quality CRooms. Layering is the most important thing, I use CSS+CSSS as a section+first chair combo on a single track for each instrument section (except double bass), but I use layering with solo in any possible case... in a nutshell, that's it :)
@@ferencbatri Thanks for the insight! Very helpful. Cinematic Rooms was already on my list of upgrades and will add Soothe and Smart Eq to that list. Much appreciated!
Finally, the 4th version of Smart EQ contains profiles for each string section. For my taste, CSS needs some color treatments... If you are lucky, you can grab the CR pro version on Black Friday, like me ;)
@@ferencbatri Thank you. Would love it if you shared a video of your process. CSS will add that to the list too. Any books you could recommend on orchestration and or programming?
Apart from the most popular TH-camrs, I can't really recommend anything else. In a given situation, I tend to look randomly for theories or technical details on the web. I have a few breakdown videos, but I don't think I'll ever make an orchestral mixing video, sorry. For this topic, I can suggest Joël Dollié's channel. Good luck.
can I buy the score?
Hi, this piece exists as a DAW project only in Ableton. If you want it I can send it to you for free ;) Just send me your email in a pm on FB (you can find me easily).
Incredible! ❤

Thank you so much and congratulate to your 1st place, very beautiful and original entry 🤗
Good job, as always. It's been a long time since you've posted anything.

Sir can i use this track for my TH-cam video. Please reply
Of course
@@ferencbatri thank you so much but can I monetize my TH-cam video with this music
Please don't
@@ferencbatri ok
The Lydian chunk near the end really kept my interest. Excellent work! And the mix is so lavish.
thank you, I'm glad you like it :)
Awesome job! I really love your composing style. It's really nice that this time you chose to incorporate a melodic theme into your submission. Incredible job to get this playfulness from virtual insturments. I wish to be able to do this as good as you do one day. I believe this is going to be among the top 3 winners, for sure. Good luck! I'm wondering if maybe you will be willing to share a breakdown of how you are creating the animation for the image. I am always amazed by it.
Thanks for following my work, I appreciate it 🧡 I used really basic motion design, I don't think I made a breakdown of this topic on this channel but you can search videos for "how to cut images in Photoshop using pen tool" but there are many similar ways to make an image transparent manually and check this video, maybe it helps: th-cam.com/video/7tVyu-rjHbg/w-d-xo.html
@ferencbatri I will check it out. Thank you!
Beautiful, decent and various orchestration! And congrats for reaching the finalists again!

Sounds like a finalist to me!
thanks, well, we'll see if it comes true for the fifth time :)
How the fxck did you make the clouds move!? Thats too cool!
