    I peorsonaly would like to mention a huge flaw to you about this that being you designed it to roll around but the rod handles are gona rub on the ground and get caught on stuff etc but if you added a 1.5 inch spacer and a 3rd peice of wood with no holes and then reattached the casters it would still hold well and keep the rods off the ground. Although it does look slick, I just wanted to point that out, and I assume you have already found that flaw.

Because I will have a commercial role of spool. Can you get back to me and let me know if you can build me one. This would totally help me with speed as I make 50 a night the old fashion way. Thank you sir.

    • @Saltwise
      @Saltwise ปีที่แล้ว

      Since the line is wrapped around the pegs it stays nice and tight

  • @Floridamarty
    @Floridamarty ปีที่แล้ว

    Great!! I would like to make a continuous spool of rigs so I can spool one off as needed while surf fishing. How much space between last and first droppers should I leave for sinker and swivel? I am thinking 36" so that there would be 18" line outside T and B droppers to attach sinker and swivel? More? Thanks.

    • @Saltwise
      @Saltwise ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! I like that idea! I think 18 inches on each end is good so that you have enough tag for your swivel and sinker rigging. Also, try a single drop rig especially in clearer water, some people think that the double drop can scare away the pomps. The double drop is nice because you have a chance to double up when the school runs through and of course for different bead, float, bait, and depth combinations.

  • @Floridamarty
    @Floridamarty ปีที่แล้ว

    You rock! Best instructionals I'vs seen so far on fishing. I do have some question though. What are the final or recommended dimensions of a pompano rig? Distance from swivel to first dropper?, distance between droppers? Distance to sinker from bottom dropper? Length of droppers? Store bought rigs always seem tight and short, kinda jippy. Lots of rigs out there, but no one agrees on dimensions. Larry Finch even uses short dropper above longer dropper below? Any help would be appreciated. I want to become very proficient at catching Pomps. Thanks for everything!!

    • @Saltwise
      @Saltwise ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, appreciate the comment! Swivel to first dropper 12" to 16" - distance between droppers 20" to 24" - sinker to bottom dropper 12" to 16" - length of droppers about 4.5". Everyone makes these rigs just a little different. Justin Reed has a good youtube channel and he's pretty technical with his approach. Make sure you can identify rip currents and set up rigs at different distances in those rips and different baits like sand fleas, fish gum, fishbites, and ghost shrimp!

    With 5” triangle how long of a drop loop does it creat? Thanks

    • @Saltwise
      @Saltwise ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment! 5" triangles will get you a dropper loop that's around 4.5" long. Really depends on how tight or loose you tie it down, but approximately four and half inches give or take.

    • @Saltwise
      @Saltwise ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome to Surf Fishing! Peg locations for the drop loops are two equidistant triangles 5" apart. The two top pegs are 16” apart. The spool peg can be placed anywhere as long as there's enough space for the spool to turn freely.
