Break in and dyno time on the 440 engine for the Tommy Boy project. Max torque was about 500 and max horsepower was about 400. Plenty of power for our 1967 Plymouth
I love those bucket seats nice and soft! If I drove If I had that Mustang I would probably be squeezing the cheese on the soft driver seat!
I just bought a 21,000 mile 68 Coupe and love all the originality but this car being a California car is just mind blowing. Thanks for posting.
Very cool! I'm putting a '64.5 coupe back together.
it is the most beautiful car in the world😢😢😢😍😍😍
i am dying for a 1968 mustang😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I wouldn't trust driving this car with all those original but old and crucial for safety components.
She's a beauty!!! I also own a 68 like the one on this video and it's for the most part all stock. Thanks for sharing.
No passenger side mirror, seemed to be an option up to the early 1990s in many vehicles.
I hate the 68 steering wheels, prefer 65/66.
How is all that rubber not rotted and crumbing ?
Don’t ever remember seeing a mustang with painted wheels and small hubcaps. I understand keeping it original but it looks so much better with the styled wheels
Curious about the yellow stripe.obviously it's factory but was it an option and were there different color choices.looks great but was a bold choice.
Nice video. Finding a 68 original steering wheel in that kind of excellent condition is almost like finding a unicorn.
I bought a 1965 6 cylinder coup in July 2023. It has the original owners manual with the original owners name and address and dealer. Solid car but not the original color. No back up lights, they were an extra option at $10. Thanks for your other videos showing stamping, etc. I’ll keep looking over mine.
These things were absolutely everywhere in 1968.
No 💩
One word. WOW! I remember looking at these when they were new on the showroom floor.
These vids are fantastic sir
Our 68 coupe was bought new by my parents in Dec 1967 and delived in Feb 1968. Lime gold witth black interior and vinyl roof. 65C. Louvered hood (which was standard until after the strike). Early 'flush' style rear reflectors. Family medical issues forced me to sell it in 2019 :( I still have our 1978 Fox that my late wife bought in 1983.
Whoever purchased this car new knew that it would eventually become a collector’s item. Most people drive more than 12,000 miles in one year or less. This car is averaging about 200 miles per year 😁 You have one of the finest Mustangs I’ve ever laid eyes on! I wish more classic cars had been cared for as well as this one.
What happened to the radio antenna?
Have you ever removed the cardboard over the trunk drop off and felt around in the area between the quarter panel and the drop off*** many suprises can sometimes be found--- assembly line paint crayons, trim clips etc also i own a 65 merc somewhat a survivor but not even half what the mustang is but original spare never used a bf goodrich with bf goodrich ballance weights
An absolutely beautiful car. 2 things surprise with no radio dogdish. Hub cabs, but they spent money on the "C" stripe. And also that they did not make the dealer. Paint the door jam where the paint was thin. I love survivor cand love to. Study them. And it seems as though a lot of the survivors I've seen have Anamolies such as a thin paint.
Only cars with GT package had dual exhaust ( or an option on the order form) I can’t believe that it’s unrestored- a exhaust system would rust as well as everything else even if storage was inside a controlled environment
I agree. The moisture in the exhaust system would rot it out
Nice documentation Marcus. Subscribing!
Marcus- Great idea to do a cold start-and it fired right up! Nice to see the cold start test work I did at Ford 56 years ago paid off . Gorgeous car you have - I will try and visit your restoration shop if I get to Arizona.
Super Helpful!
Great video. Has the master cylinder been replaced, or did the ones used on the San Jose line not get painted black?
I would hit the rubber suspension parts with some AT 205 to rejuvenate the rubber.
Nice Mustang! I own a 2017 GT and I am jealous! Oh, all of those walled in communities you drive pass suck. If you have to surround your neighborhood with walls, then there is a problem. Anyway, nice car.
It is interesting how the paint thins out especially on the peaks as is shown on this Mustang. I know about a 1965 GTO in blue with the same issue. It's a 35K car and I was friends with the original owners daughters. They would tell me that he would put them in the back seat very carefully making sure their shoes didn't scuff anything. I remember back in the 70's he had the car on blocks in the garage and he would let me have a look at it. Anyhow it was the best preserved original GTO I have ever seen. When the original owner died I had first shot to buy it but at that time I didn't have that much available. It was sold to a friend of mine who has kept it how it was only a little driving to car shows and stuff. These original cars are very cool.
Too bad not highland green fastback with. 390
people seem to think these cars were put together well. Even Iacocca said they were POS's
I was at the Ford plants in this era -there were quality issues on some cars but not all of them. This car was kept in a dry environment - and used very little. Quite a car.
Yep, the same with The DeLorean DMC, actually quite “thrifty” in terms of quality and parts, I was very surprised as to how “Ford Fairmont” like the parts and parts quality are, cheap mass produced, stamped sheet metal parts, with little/no attention to exact fit and detail.
Amazing detail! Thanks for the videos!
Never saw one with dog dish caps optioned like it is...probky would have had full wheel colors
First time I've seen the factory radio delete option.
Real nice Mustang! I guess that's an early 68 since it has the 289 badges.
2 barrel cars were all 289's in 68. 4 barrel got the 302. On the other hand, the Cougar had 2 barrel and 4 barrel 302's in 68
That's what I'm looking for, No Modefecacion.
Like you say, it looks like it was never used.
Interesting to see the actual colour of my car's original interior before it was changed out for black, presumably at the same time the exterior was repainted Acapulco Blue. Thanks for the video.
Amazing condition original '68.
Very interesting car. Surprising that it only has one muffler despite being a V-8. I thought only the I6 cars had those. My November '67 built 289 Fastback was originally Lime Gold but was later painted Acapulco Blue.
Thanks for the video. I'm surprised they were still installing 289 engines in June '68. I would have thought the 302 would have replaced the 289 by then.
I believe ford sent all production 289 to Calif for install 😂this back filling other plants eastward with 302
Great job Marcus
Goose that laid the golden egg there !
Nice video. I have a 1968 Mustang in Tahoe Turquoise. All original.
Thanks - these kind of informative videos are fantastic for us people with cars, just to go check over your own and compare how much is still there or missing. I have a 68 cougar that is quite original j code but not like this one!
