Brings back fond memories of my time in the singers troupe.

I have fond memories of the late Hon. Professor Rex Nettleford. A brilliant mind and visionary, he was a favored son of Jamaica and excelled as the artistic director of the NDTC, a national intellectual, and provocative lecturer at the UWI. I was fortunate to be in one of his classes, as well as a young singer in the NDTC. He left a historic legacy of art that still informs our culture. RIP, Professor Nettleford. ❤️💐

Was such a privilege being a member of the NDTC singers in those days. Long may the company continue to inspire and remind us of our rich history. Sadly, we've lost 3 from the above number since this performance. May they rest well on the other side!

Just one correction, I believe - revivalism doesn’t have any shepherd; that is Pocomania. Only church I’ve ever been to that has a shepherd was the Zion Poco. Zion Revival is a different matter yet similar.

Dr Brown, Absolute congratulations on this arrangement. It is beautifully executed and brilliantely costumed.

Oh how I remember so many of these dancers. Little did I know that I too would have occupied the same space for about sixteen years; albeit with a six year break at one point. Later dancers have maintained the repertoire for which I am grateful. This is a wonderful memory and a nostalgic taste of my home country. Was Gerreh Benta this slow in later years? Somehow it felt a bit faster. Thanks again for this walk down memory lane. You can expect that I will be watching this very clip many more times. Tonnes of memories.
