According to the book "Designing Jewelry with Semiprecious Beads" by Kim Gover, sodalite has all shades of blue, sometimes with white markings and lapis lazuli id an intense blue with patches of white and brassy yellow. Looking at your picture, I'm guessing sodalite.

Hi. I did not pass away. I knew the pins were gold. I left the hospital which is NOT a big money hospital. Very small community hospital. I did not want anything to do with the facility any longer and that is why i donated the pins instead of just throwing away. I thought Goodwill could get some money out of them. I guess next time ill just toss. Might not want to throw someone under the bus so quick next time

I find it hard to believe that nobody at goodwill wouldn't scan any piece of jewelry thoroughly. Everyone is in need of money and to find jewelry where family didn't check and also goodwill staff. This seems a little staged.
I do get my share of DUD boxes, so bad I won't even make a video on them. And then sometimes, I get a great box, like this one. I really think it depends on who did the sorting and how much training they've had. I've been sorting estate jewelry for families for around 10 years now, and when the family says "we've gone through all the jewelry and there's nothing of any value in there", I usually find some gold, sterling, or high end costume jewelry to sell for them! I appreciate you watching my channel! 😊💖

Please tell me what you recommend using to clean your jewelry. I have a lot of pieces vintage and new costume and Genuine that really need a good cleaning. I just found your channel and I find it very helpful. I love the way you share the research you do and the knowledge that you have.
Hi, each piece is different depending on if it's costume or find jewelry and if it has stones in them. Gold is pretty easy, you can just clean in a bowl of warm water and dish soap. For sterling I use boiling water mixed with baking soda (you can probably google a video). Costume is so tricky! I don't usually dip them in anything, I'll just clean with a q tip or soft cloth. Too bad the jewelry was all gone. I bet there had been so great stuff, especially the vintage periods of the 50s, 60s, 70s and so forth. Older and younger too. Based on how well they kept boxes and items tagged with the movie history of each piece, there must have been some unique, wonderful things that would be interesting to so many kinds of people!
