I have pieces from the 1970's that were sold as Alexandrite - look like Amethyst in regular light but will turn to a teal in streetlights. Had mine tested - it was actually lab color change sapphire. Looked the same as your stone.

That's always the trick, where and how to sell to get good prices. :) If I have a minimum price in mind, I usually will sell it at a fixed price on ebay, or set it as an auction with the starting opening bid that I want. I am not a fan of silver patina. The rings were originally made to be bright silver and those big flashy stones really need the bright silver. Sure, many native American pieces were made with shadow box elements but even those old ones look better with brighter silver highlights.
