This was absolutely beautiful. Not gonna lie, I thought it was going to be a silly little animation when the grunts appeared at first, but it turned out as a little glimpse of what Halo can also be and how amazing it is. Halo for me has always been a story about perspectives, and it was ironically, with all the killing and stuff, the way I learned from little without knowing how important empathy and understanding was. With as much fun as I had playing the games, I remember asking myself in CE why we were fighting the covenant. I just couldn’t understand the concept of intelligent species fighting for the sake of fighting. And then Halo 2 arrived, and showed me the covenant’s perspective, which made me even more frustrated, to think that the whole time they’ve been killing each other because of religious beliefs, and ultimately, lack of communication. We know now that it was the prophets plan all along so the covenant couldn’t learn the importance of humans, but imagine what could’ve been if they just talked 😂 Then Halo 3 came out and it made me very happy to see at least the elites in the game ally with humanity, put aside their differences and forgive their past conflicts. I would have liked to see grunts too, but that might be difficult to handle, friendly fire and all that 😅

yk this does make sense as a crew served weapon i've never even thought abt the fact that spartans have superhuman strength and that loading two rockets in a rotary tube would be heavy and awkward.

Yeah...as far as I'm aware, for those concerned this 'humanizes' the Covenant, the Elites were never really involved in the Human-Covenant war until 2552, when the military HQ of Reach was located (the Prophets thought it was humanity's homeworld Earth). Up until then, for twenty-seven years, the UNSC had been fighting large ground forces of grunts and jackals, and the occasional hunter. Elites were only theorized to exist by Doctor Halsey, because humanity was effectively considered a joke,, easily dispatched, so the Covenant never needed to bring in their Elite forces. The Spartans must have left a significant impression on Reach, because that was practically the first time the Elites had fought them. I really don't care for the 343i canon.

I still think its funny how, instead of just reloading the rockets, you reload 90% of the gun.

I think the voice acting and animation is a bit off at times but the story is really good. I think this is one of the darkest Star Wars Short Films Ive seen. You aren't afraid to portray the Empire as the bad guys in this scenario while still reflecting how human all these troopers are as just guys doing their jobs.

In halo you are so used to being able to flip over entire tanks as a spartan. Your average guy wouldn't last long in one of those battles.

This however is accurate, as marines in game are somehow fit and strong enough to reload it by themselves.
