Should You Buy a Classic Vibe Squier Jazz Bass?
Went to the Guitar Center today with a goal of buying a guitar in the $350-$500 price range. Did not know anything about Mitchell, sad down in the acoustic guitar room and tried many, what a cool place. The MX430 stood out on the wall with its beautiful finish and when I grabbed it and played it, it sounded really nice and full for that size body. I went back and forth between various brand of similar electric acoustics and the MX430 stood out. It was on sale at 30% off, which made my decision a no brainer. I only tried it in acoustic mode only at the store but back home, I plugged it to my 20-yr old mini Crate and it sounded wonderful. What a nice guitar at that price!
It really is!! Hope you enjoy it!!
Good job man!
Thanks!
I find the click from this footswitch a bit bothersome, especially since I use it in church and need a quieter switch. I'm surprised you prefer a footswitch with such a loud click. My other true bypass pedals are much quieter. 😅
I can totally see that I guess I find the loud harder click more satisfying but from a usability perspective I can see how the other would be better, I mainly play bass at my church and for other performances so I don’t generally bring pedals so i don’t think it’s really gotten the chance to annoy me 😂
Using your fingers creates a "round" sound. Whereas using the pic sounds very "pointy" to me.
Man that’s exactly what it sounds like!
I'm a newer player. Started with finger style and am working on my pick skills. I prefer finger style overall because it allows me more options to vary my playing. It's easier for me to move my hand higher and lower and to vary my attack style or to pepper in other hand techniques - slapping, plucking, hitting with my fingernails, etc.
Totally!! You can definitely put a little more variety in the sound with just your fingers. Also to be thinking about that as a new player is awesome keep it up!!
how the heck this video didn't get viral? This is great! I prefer playing the pick on the bass that makes it so aggressive.
Haha well I appreciate that! I love the aggressive sound too!
@GrantMosher by the way, if you play the pick while your bass tone is in Distortion but less blended with the clean sound, you'll get the Nu Metal tone that bassists used. from what I heard they double tracked the bass the same way guitarists do with their guitars as well.
@Rusli1659LPSoldier that will definitely get a good tone I love that sound!
I usually use a pick for fast songs that are tiring for my fingers or for more rocky music
more people need to see this, this is great advice
That was actually usefull thanks.
Glad it was helpful! 👍
Thinking about buying one of these does it come with the cables for it in the box ?
It doesn’t unfortunately
Nice amp. Glad you are enjoying it. 👍
Thanks for the introduction. I have ordered one and hope I won't be disappointed when I plug in the Tele.
Now compare it to a Roland Blues Cude 😮
In order to save the life of your AC10, cut out the back below the amp chassis, also you can cut out two thin rectangles on the sides of the amp chassis. This allows the amp to stop overheating due to a crap design, as well as gets rid of the boxiness. Secondly install a greenback or creamback. Mine overheated twice, once on stage, and was sent back both times. Cut out the back once it was returned and been happy ever since.
That's quite plausible. I'm also worried that the amp could overheat over time in the closed box. Would a small fan be useful to reduce the temperature?
@ thought about the fan too, but that would effect the speaker acoustically. Just grab the table saw and chop off the bottom of the back. Helps on heat and boxyness. Just be careful if you have small animals. Cats like to climb in there.
@@drewmcdowell1622 haha no i don’t have, a chickenwire would be needed then.
I’ll have to do that thanks!!
Ripping!
Its an overdrive, its just a tube screamer
Why didn't u use it as background, I'm too lazy to look for it lol
it wasn’t up yet lol but you’re right that would’ve been nice, there’s a link to my Spotify in my bio if your interested!
goodluck dude!
This song and Alone are both bangers, make sure to swing by Chicago when you blow up
Haha thanks man!! Will do 😂
I’ll make sure to run up a stream on ur track
Thank you sir!
Decent song dude, added to the playlist
Thanks man! Lil shameless plug I’ve got another one coming tomorrow if you’re interested🤔
This came up for me again 😂
😂😂
not fair comparison
Hardwired Vox ACs rule..... Nothing better..... check them out......
solid state amps are not the same as digitals
That fender is a digital amp not a solid state amp, there is a difference.
You’re totally right I didn’t realized that before but it’s still not a tube amp and certainly quite similar to a solid state
@@GrantMosher True. The difference to keep in mind is that a solid state preamp is an analog circuit but the digital one is ones and zeroes.
@@0N3T1tan that makes sense now thanks!
Great video! I honestly prefer playing with a Boss Katana MK2 50w solid state amp but i would love to buy a tube amp! (i tried my friend's tube amp multiple times)
Thanks! That’s fair one of my friends has a boss katana and I love that thing so I can see how you would prefer that, I think everybody’s gonna like something a little different!
👌I just listend to it
🫡 thanks!!
Awesome vid!
Thanks!!
Good luck bro! The song is wonderful.
Thanks!! That Means a lot!
I dont want to be a dick because you look fragile, but Gaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyeeeeee!

Love the song - gotta a very “driving back home” vibe to it. Good luck man; power to new artists! 😁
Yesssir! Thanks so much!
Commenting for engagement, best of luck man. 🙌
Thank you sir!!! Much appreciated!
Lol
?
Have you had any issues with the truss rod staying where it should? Have you had to adjust it excessively? I've heard this can be an issue with these basses sometimes
I've never had an issue with it, when i first got it i had to do some pretty serious adjusting all around but since then It's been perfect!
@ interesting... thanks👍
I have a 5 string classic vibe bass. I'm swapping out pickups with Duncan quarter pounders and Dimarzio wire harness that comes with new knobs. Both are exact fit and will make it sound better. Also getting a red tortoise pickguard and EB cobalt flatwound strings that should make it sound amazing. I have regular EB cobalts on all my other basses.
man that sounds awesome! I bet those pickups will sound great! have fun with that!!
@@GrantMosherGreat job on the video! Keep playing, music makes life better! Good outlet for stress relief.
Incredibly bad bass player and the muzak in the background makes it even worse. Cheap bass&bassplayer.
I wish they would come to my country too :( last time they were here I was four 😅
I went to the one in Indianapolis, truly the best experience
Lucky you, i hope you had fun!
It was the best show I’ve ever been to!
@@GrantMosher I'm glad!!
FR IT WAS AMAZING
I was there too
omg yesss I was there too
I'm a fan of Squier basses and have two of them in my collection, but I have to say that I wouldn't buy a Squier "unseen" because (like many other brands) you can get a bad one, or you might find one where everything has come together to make a far better instrument than you'd expect to find at that price range. I have an Affinity PJ bass that's probably the best bass I've ever played (it's better than an _expensive_ 1964 instrument that I own) and I feel very lucky to have found it. I only went into the shop to buy a clip-on tuner !
I definitely agree with that they all feel a little different! That’s how it goes doesn’t it, going to the shop for something small and walk out with a bass 😂😂
How! , such a quality content and so less reach
I got an FSR (Fender Special Run) CV 60's jazz bass in Olympic White with matching headstock, and it's a really good instrument. The only things I've done were to fit LaBella flat wounds - I didn't like the factory round wounds - and lower the action to make it better for how I play. I also picked up an Affinity PJ bass after trying it in the shop, and realising I'd hate myself if I left without it ! 😊
Or just get a semi hollow/hollow body electric. Best of both worlds!
definitely a good option!
