Miles Davis Tribute w/ The Joe Policastro All-Stars Fitzgerald's 2/27

A Tribute to Miles Davis “Kind Of Blue” was performed by the Joe Policastro all-stars at Fitzgerald's. The Berwyn nightclub has an evening every month where a group comes in and performs a classic jazz album. This month on 2/27/24 they outdid themselves by having Joe Policastro assemble a band of noted Chicago-based jazz musicians to perform one of the greatest albums of all time.
Here is the group and the parts they play; Chad McCullough / trumpet / Mikes Davis, Alex Beltran / sax / John Coltrane, Lenard Simpson / sax / Cannonball Adderly, Kevin Ford / piano/ Bill Evans,George Flutas / drums / Jimmy Cobb, Joe Policastro / bass / Paul Chambers
The joint was jammed and the cats wailed away. I wish I could have recorded the whole set but I got enough good footage for a couple of clips. This one introduces the band and then does “Freddie The Freeloader”
