I was ball boy for that 0-4 watford game.
putting players in the wrong position is like asking someone to write with their wrong hand. its difficult .just put players in the correct positions.
I listen all the time on audio but first time seeing the video. I always thought Bettaro was black hahaha Great stuff lads, love listening to your pod, look forward to it every week.
Watford play badly away from home. I think you will win. BUT that will be a sticking plaster for Rob
Dave, you need to stop predicting 3-0 wins for us. Believe me as soon as you start predicting defeats we'll start winning.
A return to a more direct style would be something that most Luton fans would welcome. The irony is not lost on me that Watf#rd were so successful playing that way in the past while we were pass and move side at our best. No Gabe or wee Alan to help us out this time, so time for a new hero to pick up that yellow gauntlet. 🎩🪜
I think it will be draw. Our away record is poor and you have lost form from last season. This is a huge derby match for both sets of fans and to use the old maxim 'form goes out of the window'. You will have to watch Baah in particular as well as Kayembe ,if Clevs brings both men on as subs. As you Hatters's fans are aware we have this tendency for our defenders to 'switch off' when under fire and fast wing attackers crossing, and are also prone to free kicks just outside our box. Surely both clubs will fired up for this game?! I am going 1 1, could be wrong!
What’s wrong with chanting Edwards sort it out? For heaven’s sake! After that fiasco, it was soft. He is paid more than enough to do just that in spite of being massively let down in the transfer market. But our one ‘big’ signing, who clearly is super ambitious, isn’t delivering which points to Edwards losing the dressing room. How nice Edwards is is irrelevant; what matters is winning.
To many heads were turned and its showing just my 2 pence
Another Watford fan here. Keep the faith although obviously I want us to win, however our away form and that fact it's a derby mean form means nothing. If your defense is currently pressured into making mistakes we will score, however ours although sporadic never much looks like keeping a clean sheet. May the best team win.
Me too. Hope we stuff em and every team in the League stuffs em. COYH WTID 🐝🐝🐝
The irony in Watford possibly finishing off Edwards.
If we're embarrassed by Watford at home there's no chance of getting the fans back on board
Should not have let Luke Berry and Alan Campbell go 😢
Watford supporter here. You will turn your season around. You have too much talent to be in your position and Edwards is a good manager. In regards to the derby game form does not matter. It will be a close game.
That has to be one of the worst performances of a Luton team since the days of Graeme Jones. I reckon the squad we had in League Two would have put up a better fight. If your best mate had put that team out you would certainly fall-out with him. Maybe there is some clever strategy which our limited footballing knowledge just doesn't see. If that was the thinking behind Saturday's perplexing line-up, then it didn't work. Sure, we understand that coaching staff are going to try different things. But if by half-time you can see that it isn't working, then you change it back to something more familiar. Nobody wants to be having a go at the manager or coaching staff, but this performance was inexcusable. If football clubs acted a three-strikes and you're out rule, we would all have to agree that Saturday was strike-one. There's losing and there is losing.
@28:59 You may be right, Dave, but without something drastically changing, we will be relegated. And right now, despite the formation and tactical changes that have been tried, nothing that's being done is having any impact.
I'm sorry but it's all broken, think it's time to start looking for a new gaffer and maybe some players that can score a few goals, it's been repetitive for months nothings changing is it, Its funny how there has been no aftermatch video on the LTFC TH-cam channel from Rob Edwards for the last few games, i think they have realised he says the same thing for every lose from the last 40 odd games
There's a huge disconnect between the manager, Board & fans. RE has lost it & I believe he may have lost the dressing room too. The signs were there in an awful pre-season & we are being steered toward a precipice. Gary Sweet needs to earn his massive salary now & act!
Get Edwards out.8 wins in 47 matches since the play off final. Get your head around that.
Just a question, what makes you think we won’t be relegated? What evidence after 9 games is there? And where’s the evidence that Edwards can turn it round? Nothing wrong with optimism, but it has to be evidence based
This problems isn’t just down to Rob, recruitment in the last two windows has been really poor.
We asked for Rob to try something different and it didn't work. Personally I think we need to go back through a more direct style of play. We were awesome on the counter over the last 2 seasons. And unless we find ourselves adrift of safety I think Rob has at least until Christmas. We need to do our bit and get behind the team.
Edwards is too much Mr Nice Guy and tactically clueless. He needs to show a bit of mental toughness and just looks weak.
My question is what Paul Trollope sees? Does he see what we do? Does he not see the Rob is over complicated things I mean Burke doing a diagonal run to the box to help eli..... wtf is that all about. Does he not tell Rob to play players in there good positions? .is he just a yes man?
McGuiness is our record signing and has not improved us one little bit, in fact the defence looks worse than ever.
You seem to forget, on player recruitment. Who would want to go to Luton ?
That argument doesn’t stack up. Look at last two seasons and those who have come in aren’t all nobodies or crocks

Too many players going through the motions. Who is really trying? Kaminski, Doughty, Mengi, Burke, These are all defenders, that are making mistakes. Are they making mistakes because of the pressure being put on them. Of course they are. In front of them is a complete mismatch of players being played in wrong positions and most importantly, players who can't win tackles. Lose the ball and you are under pressure. Clark and Chong do not win the ball, ever. In fact they lose it quite a lot. So: Baptiste, Nakamba and Krauss, in midfield. Up front: Taylor, Adebayo and Moses. This is 443 by the way. Walters at right back, if Hashi isn't fit. Brown as a positive substitute. Forget the rest.
Without Kaminski we'd be bottom of the table
What is Rob scared of? If we play basic 442 with Alfie left back like he did 2 seasons ago. Ruell right back. Mengi and Burke two centres. We need more experience in defense. Mengi is too quiet and positionally wrong. His athelictism gets him and the defense out of trouble. Bell has a calming influence at the back. I think k Ron is trying too hard to be clever. It's not working with this young and inexperienced team. Burke making the cross ball? .... wtf is that all about. If we play 442 with players in there correct position we can beat most teams in the champ. But Rob is too scared too
Great pod though chaps
Doughty on the right he is left footed, bad recruitment mcguiness waste of 10 million it's as though Edwards wants to be sacked with 4vyears money of course. Has he had a better offer ? Who knows but this is a very different team from last year. So sad to see 😢
If he's had a better offer then he isn't doing his credentials any favours.
He just looks as though he is not interested anymore and that is affecting the players. Something has happened behind the scenes. I think we can forget about promotion, I just hope we stay up.
If we lose badly to Watford, Edwards is stuffed.
0-4 to Watford...i'tll happen again 👊😂😂😂🐝🐝🐝
Great pod lads
it was uploaded 3 minutes ago😂
I’m a quick listener. 😂
I think everyone is forgetting 1 very important thing the weather made the game awful 4 both sides u can't play proper football in that rain keep the faith...C.O.Y.H.
We have a Prem league hangover. Staff and players. The break should sober us up with a chance to assess our season so far. What better way to restore the fans faith than a victory against the vegetable wavers down the road. Improvements required across the board, players, staff and yes fans to live up to hype of pre season optimism. COYH🎩👏
Generally a good video until it turned into the Pelly Fan club. We have to face facts the guy is getting old (As we all do) and his body and football brain are starting to let him down now. I was there in person for this game sitting in the Bobbers in the rain, if we look at his performance first of all with our heads rather than rose coloured glasses, he came on, gave the ball away 3 times (when oxford almost scored from one of those) was cheered when he actually passed the ball to a Luton player (which says it all). The last time he scored a goal was the 22-23 season. He has not played for a year for a reason - he is simply not good enough - he is not the player he used to be a few years ago. This will be his last year for LTFC so, I hope they arrange a testamonial for him as I will be the first person to buy a ticket but The King is Dead, Long live the King. The first half was not too bad but the second half was dire. Someone next to me said that we did better without Chong and the way he disrupts play but I did not see that. There is something wrong with RE I was siiting about 10 meters away from him and he appears to have the whole world on his shoulders - I think he is very stressed, maybe he has problems at home and needs to be rested for a couple of games to sort himself out? He is a highly emotional guy and the board have a duty of care to him. Oxford were great though - very much a team rather than a bunch of individuals - the hype of LTFC is a family from the cleaner to the Chairman has cracks in it at the moment.
Oh here we go. Peter on his favourite subject, slagging off Pelly. How many years is it now Peter, must be 5 at least. I don't think i have seen you make a positive comment about Pelly. First ticket at his testimonial? Who are you kidding? You must be revelling in the fact he is struggling now eh, bet you're feeling really pleased with yourself. Well done.
Another woeful night at the Kenny & the time is coming to make a big decision.
Good podcast guys Saying about Oxford only getting a point away is not a fair reflection . We lost to a penalty that never was at Bristol, an intercepted back pass at Coventry in the last second, and like this game , missed a bunch of chances to beat Blackburn. Worrying for us our finishing is still very poor. Luton missed a few chances as well, and like you said the pitch was aweful. Tense game to watch, but exciting match really . Look forward to return match . I hope Baptiste Is still out for that game , he's a good player and think Luton will be stronger with him .
Just on Pelly, (Clarke and others over the years have had the same problem to be fair), is they've never learnt that you can't always wait for the ball to come to you. Frustrating. On Walsh, Dave is probably correct. He wanted to get the crowd going. If the Oxford player went in has hard as Walsh, it would have been fine but he didn't. Therefore it ends up a bad challenge. It's a red but it happens in a split second. It was reckless because one player stays on his feet and Walsh doesn't but it wasn't deliberate and I can see why he made the decision because it was a 50/50 ball when he launched himself.
There was a sense of resignation throughout the crowd the moment that first Oxford goal went in. I think the fans are drained after SO many bad performances and a team that are simply unrecognisable as a Luton team. Sorry, it IS the managers responsibility. Not sure he can change it now.
Agreed about the atmosphere in the ground last night, oxfords fans helped them big time
Biggest issue is that our defence and our midfield isnt connected we havent used the same back 5 consistently, and when we got injured players back we are rushing them, it causes times where our players are making mistakes due to not having the chemistry required to play together , the exact same thing happened with NJ the 1st half of the 22/23 season he left and we got a whole month off due to WC and we was able to push on from their we need something similar this season
I don't understand the notion that you can question a manager, you can question a coach, you can question the board, you can question a player but you cant question the fitness staff "because they are professionals".
We dont have the team for the style of play Rob wants us to play, if we did we wouldnt be watching what the mess we are.
Kept NJ's team going? Are you serious? Ffs, have a look at the changes he made like bringing in Alfie and changing the system! I'd have gone to a back 4 last January so I'm no 'happy clapper' but don't rewrite history around Jones.
Completely right Dave. There's reasons to be disappointed and unhappy with some of the play but it's 6 in 9 and could be 9 in 12. Perspective.
This time in 2022 we had 9 points. So we are not that far off. I think we need to defend better from the midfield back. And shoot more. The interchange of passing was pretty good. We got forward easy enough. Just can't finish. 15 corners and at least 10 went beyond the far post.
Look like a bunch of amateurs, half the players just dont look interested, and Edwards seems to have no idea whats going on
Imho Joe Taylor should get a run in the team, but he must be paired with a target man. Morris is injured, Elijah doesn't seem to function as a target man.
edwards doing a great job, just think he is a tactical genius, hope he keeps 343 formation
🤡
Plymouth are always underestimated, 4hour trrip away for Argyle fans is nothing 😂
