    what does it mean? raising % lower evaluation, how do investors get profit?? eg. asking $150k to 20%-value $750k, but the counter offer is $150 to 40%-value $350--(1) how does this give profit to the investor?? (2) what does $350 evaluation mean to the shark tank. (3)and how long will they own the company? (4) if the company grows to $1000k will Shark still get 40% to that million??

    This was so helpful! Thank you for finally explaining this well. If you can, please do more on how to value a company/startup by determining that reasonable multiple figure to come up with the valuation itself. Because everyone starts off explaining ABC company has a revenue multiple of 10X but not explaining how that 10x was arrived at to know what multiple to use when forming the valuation for that company is never explained. I know this can vary by industry, market etc. but guiding us on how to arrive at that valuation would be awesome!

      @financewithparkes1401 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, no problem. Instead of saying 10X sales it's probably easier to just say 10 times your sales. AKA a company with $100K of sales, if you apply a 10 time (10X) multiplier of sales, you would be valuing the company at $1M. If you apply a 15 time (15X) multiplier of sales, you'd be valuing the company at $1.5M... so on and so forth.

      A different way to approach it is imagine if you were trying to buy the entire company from someone. You would say I’ll give you $500K for 100% ownership of your company. But what if you don’t have $500K and you only want to be part owner? You could offer $100K for 20% ownership.. your total valuation of the companies worth is still $500K ($100K x 100/20).
