3 Things You Can Do to Avoid Surgery
Want to avoid surgery for stress incontinence? You can. Here's 3 things you can do now that'll help in the future.
⭐️ About Dr. Bruce Crawford
I’m a board certified urogynecologist with 30 years clinical experience and creator of the Pfilates program. Having worked with thousands of pelvic disorder patients, it became obvious to me that we needed to have an affordable, effective way to treat them without resorting to prescriptions or invasive surgery.
So after studying over 120 personal training, yoga, and Pilates moves, we found the most effective exercises to condition the pelvic floor. The majority of people can improve their pelvic floor - as well as their sense of health, well-being, and dignity - in just 5 minutes in the morning and evening.
⭐️ About Heather Dibkey, M.Sc. & Exercise Physiologist
When I gave birth to my son 18 years ago, I sustained pudendal nerve damage. I developed pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, loss of sexual functioning, and had chronic SI joint pain.
Frustrated with the lack of non-invasive medical options, I finally found Pfilates and tried it as a last-ditch effort. Not only did the Pfilates Method work for me, it is still working for me over a decade later as a menopausal woman.
It is my sincerest desire to make Pfilates accessible to everyone. If you’re reading this and struggling with pelvic floor issues, you don’t have to struggle alone. Don’t wait to begin your healing journey with us.

That was a very good description. Coulda woman have a bladder prolapse as a result of a partial hysterectomy? I believe I have one.
Sadly bladder prolapse is very common but not the consequence of partial hysterectomy
@ well that’s helpful for my understanding but leaves me with further questions. I have an appointment in Feb., and then hopefully a referral . I have been waiting for 4 years to be taken seriously. My Dr. dropped the ball on everything once Covid was the distraction.
I have a vaginal pessary for years fine with me did not want surgery at this age
That is excellent!
M.S. when I hit with my medicine,, I try to get up and pee. And, as I am getting up, I can't get off the Bed. I am Home-bound.

Lower back pains for years then I felt something in my vagina Told to take exercise for 3 months but it got worse and was hanging out of my vagina. Now it's been held up my a coil
Thanks Gloria. Many women get good relief using a pessary device
Thnx for the presentation but would like to learn more about the excercises and treatments other than surgery. I know of so many women going through this and find it very uncomfortable to deal with so in order for it to get Any worse what are the precautions. Pls advise thnks.
Thank you for your comment. Please visit www.pfilates.com to access real practical solutions.
Had surgery for prolapse 10 years ago, and my uterus was removed, my uterus should have been put in a sling instead of removing, which now created my bladder prolapsing so I had to have surgery to put my bladder back in place with a sling. That was ten years ago with the bladder sling and it's been great.
Thank you for your post. I had the same with my uterus removed because it was pushing out my bladder. It helped for years but now my bladder falls down every time I urinate. 3, 10 pound babies!
MESH IS NOT SAFE!!!
i chop a clove of garlic daily, wait 10 mins, swallow with olive oil or honey quickly, and it cured this issue. Research the amazing properties of garlic.
Interesting!
You didn’t say what to do about it

Did U know CAFFEINATED BEVERAGES CAUSE SYMPTOMS TO FLARE UP??? FOODS that stimulate our bladders ACTIVITY/ functions. to note!!!
Thanks, so much 😮😅
Interesting, Thanks 😂
😅
Black Tea daily. Drink reduces bladder leaks!!! Non caffeinated drinks & CANDIES, BEVERAGES, REDUCE CHOCOLATE brownies, cakes, cookies, HOT COCOA, all have stimulants. Drink more water HOT & OR COLD WATER IS GOOD!!!! BACK OFF FROM USING TOO MUCH GINGER ROOT 🍵 TEA. etc. Too stimulating for our urinary bladders. Replace with other foods. Drink more pure WATER ( 64 OZ. of water daily. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Eat unsweetened cooked CRANBERRY Salsa, CRANBERRY drinks!!! CRANBERRY smoothies. Sweeten with fresh pineapple juice!!! Good!!!
What exercise we have to do in this case
Please visit www.pfilates.com. There is a program available there. Good luck!
Very helpfull
I’m 36 and have been dealing with with this since I had a forceps delivery when I was 20 and it was a three I’ve dealt with with it greatly but recently no matter the amount of exercising doesn’t help I’ve avoided surgery at all cost. any advice?
Perhaps talk to your doctor about a pessary device
Thanks for the insight 🤗
I am 72. I had a hysterectomy, bladder repair and rectocele repair when I was 45. When I was 66 I had a bladder sling installed and my rectocele replaced again due to prolapse. Following the surgery, I asked my doctor what I could do to prevent another surgery. His reply was that stool softeners would be my friend for life, and I shouldn’t pick up anything more than 10 pounds. Alas, 3 months later I started to prolapse again. I went to a pelvic floor physical therapist for 10 weeks and saw little improvement. I now have a stage 4 rectocele. Hypopressives help,as do Pilates. Will my pelvic floor ever get strong enough to support my prolapse? Should I have another surgery! (BTW - I loved the video with the sock inside the pelvis!! What an excellent object lesson 😊)
Thank you for your comment! Exercise is unlikely to improve your stage 4 rectocele. A pessary or surgery may help.
*rectocele REPAIRED again due to prolapse.
@@thepelvicfloorsolution thank you. I have tried a pessary and removed it, thinking that it would hinder exercising. I will use it again, and not concentrate on exercise.
@dianelirwin many people find it helpful to do pelvic floor exercise with the pessary in. It can provide good sensory feedback during exercise
Thank you so much. I had a bladder lift 13 years ago it helped so much, the dr says I have OAB its botox or interstim is the recommendation. Vesicare mouth was dry I am willing to try healthy options. Really I just wanted a pill. I've had a kidney stone removed , many bladder infections. I was given Methenam Hip 1 GM to change the acidity no more bladder infections ,way more bathroom trips., or not making there.
Thank you for your comment. Ask you doctor about medications like merbetriq - no dry mouth. Check out PfilAtes.com for a pelvic floor training program. Good luck!
Can stage 2 bladder prolapse be reversed with exercise or is surgery necessary & does Estrogen ointment heal a bladder prolapse?
Hi. Pelvic floor training like PfilAtes can help relieve symptoms of grade 2 prolapse. Estrogen cream is good for many things but does not fix prolapse
@@thepelvicfloorsolution Thank you so much for your reply.💌
Excellent explanation. Thank you. 12:06
Thank you!!!! Join thepelvicfloorsolution on instagram
Can you do swimming or does it make it worse.
Swimming should be fine.
Thank you for this information. I went to my OB GYN because I was having prolapse symptoms and she said I could either have surgery or a pessary and that exercises wouldn't help. It makes me sick to think she would have done the surgery and I wouldn't have thought that I needed to do exercises and then it would just reoccur... This is just an example of why I don't trust doctors except for TH-cam doctors like yourself who really care about people and want to help them.
Thank you!
Thank you for this, I have recently been diagnosed with vaginal atrophy with multi pelvic organ prolapse, cystocele, rectocele, uterine & cervix. Will exercises and pessaries restore something so significant or will surgery be the best option? The prolapses are stage 2-3
PfilAtes works best for stage 1 and 2. Stage three prolapse may be best treated with pessary or surgery if treatment is necessary at all
@@thepelvicfloorsolution Thank you for your reply 🙏
