That is really a cool mini. Great job on the wet blending. Its a scary thing to try at first but once you get the hang its loads of fun. Very sad that you did not add Styx Purple #09423 to the mix but I will let it slide this time. 🧙‍♂

The size of dragons is one of my peeves. From 3rd edition on, they have been getting ridiculously big--so big that not only would they not fit in dungeons, but it would be absolutely impossible to hurt them with any weapon held by a human. I didn't watch the movie, but I understand that Smaug was made ludicrously big; like, how on earth would he crawl around in dwarven halls big. "But aren't dragons supposed to be awesome and dangerous?" Yeah, but not so much so that a sword wouldn't even get through their skin if you drove it to the hilt. And I think something the size of a tyrannosaur, that can fly, breathe fire, use its front claws, and is intelligent to boot (and possibly able to cast spells) is plenty dangerous enough, thank you. The biggest dragons on my table are the metal Reapers. T'raukzul would be an absolutely epic dragon, like Glaurung or Ancalagon the Black. I guess that's what those ridiculously oversized swords are for.

Tabletop world still the best

I tend to use smaller dragons because ancient dragons are extremely rare. I do own some very large dragons because they are cool.

I always liked this dragon. It just looks right. Nice work on the dragon and vid.

Makes sense to have a dragon small enough to fit on the table. Players can imagine it's 3 times the size if the story calls for it.

I bought this at a game shop in like 2002. Have only primed it and pinned the head/legs/wings with some difficulty (took some huge and multiple pins!) but never painted it. Recently got back into historical military models and have an airbrush setup now. Been thinking of pulling him out of the shoe box he’s sat in 20 years! Wish I still had the box though.😢. Sucker is heavy as hell too! Beautiful mini.
