The zoned taste buds in tongue is a myth. We have all the taste buds evenly spread throughout the tongue.

Also acid isn’t used to round out, it’s used to cut fat to bring out the flavor profile that the fat is muting

The tastebud map is actually wrong, it’s more about the bonding of chemicals with your olfactory

we can probably taste (and like) salt cuz it made out of sodium which is how our nerves communicate and chlorine cuz idk our stomach makes hydrochloric acid to digest food. so its the same thing with sugar (high in energy), we like it cuz its benefitial to like it

Curious overwhelming of the senses during this episode. Subjected to not only the “5” food tastes…but the MUSICAL variety which competes with you for our attention as well. As your lips are moving, I keep wondering “What the hell is that music for…and does he really think we need it (much like Ketchup)?” The other “taste” to consider in your video is the graffiti on your arms, which…makes me wonder (as you speak) … has he now run out of real estate to make his political and cultural statements? Will he next carve out pieces of his face to inject toxic food coloring? And …is this really TASTEFUL to see on someone handling our food? IS THIS NOT THE UMAMI OF BAD TASTE? Oh…never mind!

Very high quality videos; been watching a bunch. Sad to see you gave up. My guess: you're mostly rejected from the algorithmic suggestions because of swearing. (Big channels can get away with it; smaller, not so much.) Arrived here by your first mise en place video. Intentional, filtered search; not algorithm. Please consider trying again if you're still well following the pandemic. ✌️

I'm a first year apprentice chef. I challenged the fastest oyster shucker in our restaurant to an oyster shucking competition. When I first started it took me 30 seconds to shuck an oyster. Then after a lot of practice, a few thousand oysters later. I got it down to 15 seconds an oyster. I kept practising, really focusing on quality over speed. Got it down to almost 10 seconds per oyster. The guy I challenged said to me that he once shucked 26 dozen oysters in 30 minutes. So my goal is 5 seconds an oyster. I'm averaging about 9-10 seconds right now, but I'm really pushing for smoothness and refining my technique to reduce the variance of my time. My goal is to hit 5 seconds per oyster in about 2 weeks. Call that an unrealistic goal.
