CarSeatSite is where you can learn how to install your carseat and keep your child safe in your vehicle. I empower parents and caregivers with tips and tricks that I've used myself as a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor since 2001. I also own Tesla vehicles, which can be carseat-challenging. I've seen quite a few rookie Tesla carseat installation videos that were downright dangerous, which prompted me to restart making installation videos.
I am a founding member of the CarseatBlog.com writing team. We've done carseat reviews and other child passenger safety articles since 2008.

Evenflo Revolve360 NHTSA Investigation

NHTSA is investigating the Evenflo Revolve360 carseat for 2 reasons: one is a technical reason related to an interpretation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 on how it needs to be installed (49 CFR 571.213 S5.3.2), and the other is based on six reports of the carseat separating from its base. I have the slim version of this seat. Can it touch the back of the passenger seat?
The owner's manual is silent on it, so you should check your vehicle manual. Look in the airbag section and in the child safety section. The information may be in a warning callout box.
We were having trouble with rear facing our 11mo old. We were getting the recline for rear facing in the blue zone but our child looked uncomfortable and knew that he probably needed to be reclined better due to how up right he was sitting. I had no clue about the towel and pool noodle. We purchased this seat because we needed 3 across. Very helpful video!!
Thanks! I’m so glad it helped you!
Very helpful, thank you!
Why is this investigation taking so long? It's very nerve wracking. When we have does car seat to not get any updates
I don’t know. I’m guessing NHTSA is gathering more evidence, meaning they are waiting for more instances of the issues to occur and be reported.
This chair is too complicated for normal people to figure out even with videos. How does that make any kod more safe? This was a bad purchase
Thank you so much for your in depth video! I wish I found this months ago. We got this car seat back in May for my daughter (currently 9 months). I have a Jeep grand Cherokee and we put her behind the passenger seat. The passenger seat has no room to move back. Am I reclining her too much? How reclined should a 9 month old be?? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you.
The good thing about these ClickTight convertibles is that they allow basically as much upright recline angle as is comfortable for the child. I would experiment with angles for your 9 mo old and see what's most comfortable for her and gives you the most leg room up front. Is moving her to the center seat an option?
lol glad u made this vid but also sad americans need this to use products properly
I wish I could hug you 😂🫂
Thank you so much!! You’re a lifesaver.
i wish video showed attachment on the child car seat side
What do you mean? How it's attached to the carseat?
Thanks!
Here is the translated text: --- **Brix One4Life Safety Seat** After many recommendations, we purchased two seats. Today, during the first use, we unfortunately noticed that the straps are too short (for 3-month-old babies). The only way I understand to extend the straps is by raising the backrest (the headrest/support), to a level that is not suitable at all for infants, making the headrest too high-however, this does extend the length of the straps. Do you know how to extend the straps without raising the backrest (the head support)? A picture of the seat is attached. ***Of course, we’ve already loosened the straps as much as possible using the button below the padding.
Have you removed the infant insert? If not, I would start by doing that. That will give you a couple of inches in harness length. The insert is there to boost babies up so their shoulders are above the bottom harness slots. As long as that’s the case when it’s removed, it’s optional.
Thank you for this great video! The official Britax one is hot garbage.
Thanks! Glad it helped you!
It appears that you are actually sitting in the carseat for the video cover. The seats aren't designed to take the weight of an adult and your seat may be compromised. If you intend to use this seat for a child, I would examine it throughly as well as contact the manufacturer.
@TheTiffans Thank you for your concern about the carseat and the gentle explanation! 🥰 Even though carseats aren't designed to take the weight of an adult, they are designed to take crash forces, which you can think of in this very simplistic equation: restraining force = weight x speed (any engineer or physicist will take offense to that, but it does the job of explaining basic crash forces to non-scientific folks, lol). Those crash forces will definitely do more damage than my weight; however, I wouldn't recommended Tigger-bouncing in it. I was careful of the EPS foam in the headwings because I didn't want to break that. Also, all my carseats are training seats and aren't used to transport children, but I do like to offer explanations in case someone else reads it.
@@CarSeatSite Thank you for your reply! Yes, carseats are designed to take crash forces, but they will operate at their best in a crash when the seat is in supreme condition. Doing things like putting an adult fully in the seat/kneeling in the seat during install, etc., can cause concentrated pressure in areas not meant to take that kind of pressure, potentially creating stress marks or even cracks in the plastic. If a stress mark is compromising or a seat is cracked, it may not perform as it is designed to in a crash. It would no longer be fully equipped to handle the crash forces of which you speak.
What if you pull the handle and it's still stuck? I've had mine and it removed fine but I came back from a vacation and it will not detach
@lionessqueen6087 In that case, I would contact the manufacturer. There’s a possibility that something got damaged.
@@CarSeatSite I actually figured it out but thank you so much for replying, not many creators do😭❤️
@@lionessqueen6087 What was wrong with it?
Life saver. 😂🎉
What I really dislike about this car seat is that the crotch buckle is very tight for the child, like it doesnt give more option for adjustment to make it a little more comfortable. I know it cant be too far from the child’s body but with this seat, its way too tight even after adjustment and my child is only 3 and pretty skinny.
It's always a good idea to contact the manufacturer and give them that feedback. Sometimes they can make a running change in production and if they do, you may be able to buy a new buckle. If they don't get that feedback, though, they won't know there's a problem.
Ok, thank you for demonstrating this! The crotch buckle was definitely too tight on by baby’s chubby thighs. I have a question. There are 3 buckle slots underneath. Slot one closest to baby was too tight, so I’m going to move to a different slot as you showed. Do I use the 2nd or middle slot, or the 3rd slot? What are the guidelines on how tight it should be? Thank you so much for this video. Baby still rear faces.
Double-check your owner's manual for which slot to use when rear-facing. Most carseat manuals will have the wording that the buckle should be in the slot closest to, but not under, your child. You definitely don't want to see a gap between your child and the buckle slot being used because they will slide down as they get comfy in the seat, which causes a slouching "C" shape and affects where their shoulders are in regards to harness height. In that case, it's better for them to sit on the strap until they get closer to that next slot out.
@@CarSeatSite Thank you for your time.
Hi I know the video is old but I’m just wondering if the car headrest is allowed to touch the car seat headrest for this seat? I also have a Tesla and I have been receiving different recommendations regarding this. Some techs suggested to disregard britax because of the non removable headrest, but a tech suggested that since the headrest doesn’t press into the car seat headrest, it should be okay.
@tracyhongnhungle1279 I've worked closely with Britax in the past and review carseats for them, so I have a closer than average relationship with their reps. It's OK for the headrest on the One4Life to touch the vehicle headrest as long as it isn't pushing the O4L headrest forward, out of position. That's when it can damage the carseat. HTH!
@@CarSeatSite thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate it!
I have a grandbaby that’s five months old. She has sticklers and hates getting in car seats. She screams and cries. I feel sometimes like it’s too tight on her chest. She also has stridors. I have many wrist issues and will be going in for my second surgery to have my wrist taken care of my daughter. Has chronic back pain due to the epidural so we are looking for a rotating convertible car seat for the baby so it’s easier for us to get her in and out, the crotch button has to be not too difficult to push and I’m not really comfortable with the magnetic chest clip. Do you have any suggestions for Car seats? We’ve been doing research for about a week and have came up with nothing. We want to crash safe test car seat when we looked at the flow 360 slim it seemed to be when we turned baby towards us. It was too slanted, please help
@teresasanfilippo6489 The Evenflo Revolve seats will universally be the easiest to use. However, there are 2 other revolving seats to consider: the Baby Jogger City Turn and the Nuna Revv. The Baby Jogger City Turn's unique feature is that as it turns, it brings the seat toward you by about 7"-great for sore backs. It only rotates in the rear-facing position, though. The Nuna Revv turns beautifully, but is nearly twice the price of the others and it maxes out at 40 lbs. both rear- and forward-facing. I can't help you with which ones will be easier to unbuckle because the federal standards require a specific pressure release on them and manufacturers usually are pretty close to each other in that release range. There's a tool called the Unbuckle Me (amzn.to/3NIy2GX *Amazon Affiliate Link) that is fabulous and is designed by an occupational therapist. Here's a website where you can compare the rotating carseats: carseatblog.com/56503/rotatingcarseatscomparison.

Thank you for making my life easier.
Thank you so much for this video, I was so lost with rearfacing with my two month old
Glad it helped!
Thanks a bunch, I did not see that handle 😅
Do you know how to make it stop doing that?
Why do you want it to stop locking? If it stops, it’s considered broken because it won’t lock and hold anyone or a carseat in a collision. If you need to put a passenger there, I’d try to put them somewhere where there’s a lap/shoulder belt if it’s at all possible.
I fought for more time than I'd like to admit before I finally looked this up. Thank you for the quick help!
Oh no! I’m so glad the video helped you out!
What is the tab, and how do I install with that?
Do you mean the folded over piece of webbing that keeps the latchplate from sliding down to the floor? If it's in the way of a lockoff, you may need to slide the carseat to one side a bit in order for the lockoff to close.
@@heatherw.689 yes thank you!! I have an evenflo revolve…. I can lock it but it’s outside the lock off and still in the belt path. Hoping that’s alright!

Our main issue was the belt doesn’t lock ???
The ClickTight panel locks the seat belt for you. 😊
Is the thing by the feet able to go straight out for extended leg room? Or is it more for forward facing
Because I already have the nuna rava and wanted to get another nuna but I was going to get this thinking the foot thing was for extended rear facing.
@@alyssabrooke7168 For rear-facing, it's use is for anti-rebound, so it is placed tight against the vehicle seat back. The Rava will give your child a little bit more leg room when RF, but the EXEC does have the booster capability.

Thank u for posting this video. I have also been looking for videos where evenflo360 is used on the tesla. I have model 3. And does the forward facing on this car seat work with evenflo gold 360 slim or does it have gap? Does it have a gap? Knowing our headrest is non removable and a little tilt.
Yes, the Revolve360 Slim will work in the Model 3. There's a slight gap between the vehicle headrest and the carseat headrest, which is perfect. You can see pics of it in my M3 here: carseatblog.com/52360/evenflo-revolve-360-car-seat-review.
Yes the evenflo revolving 360 SLIM work on model 3 and the model too but rearfacing you have to move the front passage seat foward can still use that seat if you don't mind begin so close to the dash.
The top tether strap slides down and if tightened causes the car seat to tilt toward that direction. Do you have any tips?
Hi. Are you installing it in a Model X? What I do is pull it as high as I can on the shoulder of the vehicle seat and pull it as snug as I can. It seems to stay like that, but I’ve only had carseats installed for several days at a time since my kids are older now. You could try loosening the tether a smidge to see if overtightening it is causing it to slide down.
Super helpful, thanks!
Does this involve the evenflo 360 extend as well?
Yes, it includes all the Revolve models.
Omg. After fighting the carseat, I can't believe there was a handle the entire time. 😅 Thank you!

Very helpful info. Thanks for explaining
The strap is too short on my 2yr Olds legs. She still rear faces, so she's in the slot closest to her boby. How do I fix this
Hi. There are several reasons this may be happening. Lift the cover and make sure that the LATCH belt or seat belt (depending on which you're using to install the seat) isn't pressing down on the strap. Also make sure that you're using the same slot in the carseat shell as the cover as that will shorten it. If she's sitting on top of the strap, it may be time to move it to the outer slot position; you can use either slot position for rear-facing.
Thank you so much! This video and the one showing how to switch the latch to forward facing just helped me after 20 minutes of fumbling because I misplaced the manual. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! ❤

Thank you for making this video. Constructive feedback: 2mins in, we're still talking about how hard it is to use the center-seat and latch, latch, latch, latch. 4 mins in, use seat-belt; leather is slippery, no to covers. 6mins in, we're talking about movement, challenges etc. This entire video could likely be condensed into 5-8 minutes without the repetitive fluff. 8mins in, I gave up. Slippery leather, car seat moves, narrow place. Over and over and over. The first 8 minutes could be one minute.
NHTSA also now investigating Nuna Pipa lite for same installation issue, I don't think the government is going to let this one go. static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2024/INOA-AQ24002-10514.pdf Maxi Cosi Coral was already recalled for this issue, highly likely that any car seat that does not meet this standard gets recalled
NHTSA ID Number: 11573127 Incident Date November 21, 2023 Consumer Location SNOHOMISH, WA Vehicle Identification Number N/A Summary of Complaint CRASH Yes I was in an accident with my son November 21,2023. We were t-boned on the driver side. My son's Revolve 360 (passenger side) detached from the base and landed on the other side of the car towards the impact point. The carseat was installed with the seatbelt (preferred method) and locked into rearfacing position. We're were in a 2014 chevy cruze and all the curtain airbags deployed. With the Revolve 360, when reclined for rearfacing, there's no way for the seat to swivel to the rightside detach point. In my chevy, the backseat was too small to allow the sweat to swivel inward without being stopped by the door. We believe the force of the curtain airbags deploying and the fact that the vehicle was small, provided enough force to detach the seat. We returned the seat to evenflo for investigation and never heard anything.
Thank you for making this video. It’s very helpful
