I remember this. It reached 99 degrees just north of the Lehigh Valley. Heat index was at around 110.

Here in the Pacific Northwest we've been having a historical heat wave for the past 2 weeks our highs has been over 100 nonstop with half of them exceeding 105 the weather channel at one point forecasted 111° for my area

right you are but it is funny how when i read the records of all time hot temperatures on the weather channel it did not mention that newark record the record of 108 degrees on july 22, 2011 which gets me upset because they are not acknowledging history in the making if you check the weather channel it still has the old record of 101 degreees on july 22, 2011

i remember this year i still had to go to school when it was 100 degrees outside why didnt they cancel school also it was very close to my birthday (august 6th) when the heatwave hit our jersey city area

What a storm we had this in Richmond Va. On Aug.16-2007 what a night 6:00PM-5:00AM rounds storms.

Man - I always have to revisit this storm. Some of the worst lightning I've ever seen. Any time it's that close, it gets your attention. Here in CA, it's never that bad. I miss it...

Newark, NJ was supposed to tie their all-time record high that day, 105F. It failed to reach it. This past summer, during the July Heat Wave of 2011, they shattered the record setting a new all-time record high of 108F.

The Heat Wave of July 2011 is happening right now...today's high was 104 in NYC.

I don't know why, but the bad audio quality actually enhances the music in a way, for me anyway. Sometimes I like listening to this instead of the actual song.

Wow, I would think that if it was already 91 at 10 AM that it would for sure get to 100. Your almanac in the clip says that the record was 105. Did it get cloudy?

@socool775 TWC predicted 104 but it "only" got up to 96, not sure if that was a record or not but it was more than hot enough for me! Actually it made it to 97 the next day while TWC predicted 99. We had a wicked thunderstorm on that Thursday which dropped the temp about 25 degrees (97 to 72). Felt fantastic!

I hate when people say that global warming is fake when they go to those videos of the cold weather on the local on the 8's. but how do you explain this video? note: i don't believe global warming is cause by CO2 emissions
