Recently we managed to find this whole smoked Gammon on reduced offer price in one of our local supermarkets (almost 50% off the original price)- not being one to overlook a bargain we bought it and here im showing how I prepare it for the freezer and roast the last small piece in our air-fryer.
You can use an 8" Chefs knife but I used a Butchers Steak knife which has a longer broader blade.
Happy Days!

Was this meat precooked when you bought it, or just salt cured?
@@nateb2715 It's just salt cured and smoked. One full slice would take about 7 minutes a side to grill. Thanks for stopping by 🙏
I could smell that as it came out of the air fryer 😇. Nice Knife skills mate 👍🏻
@@MuddyBootz You should have been here mate, we'd have eaten that with a pint of cider each Lol 😆🍻😋 ATB 👍👍👍
Tis a bargain for sure, I wish I could get to the stores to get a bargain like that, it looks yummy. I would be tempted to make pea and ham soup with that off cut. I just bought 2 cheap smoked Tesco ham joints to pressure cook and slice for sandwiches and salads, I got one a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious.
@@kath-phlox Pea and ham soup Kath! Oh that sounds great too 😋😋 Funnily enough I was thinking about a pressure cooker recently as we don't have one, maybe put on my wishlist 😂 Enjoy your smoked ham ♥️👍
I agree looks delicious 😋, happy cooking Woody, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden It was a total bargain Ali, can't wait to get into one of those full slices! Stay warm 🥶🥶🥶🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧♥️
Looks delicious woody 👍🏾
@@lisag9493 That small piece I roasted in the air fryer was beautiful 😋😋😋 Can't wait to try one of the big slices ( with fried eggs and mushrooms!) Thanks for watching 🙏👍
Alright woody mate , looks a decent portable DAB radio 📻, good that its type C charge, would be good for days at the beach, park, camping 🏕 👍
@@GazianoOutdoors Yes definitely mate, we'll be taking it on our van trips for certain! cheers Gaz 👍👍
Hi Woody - how interesting! My mind has often drifted over a DAB radio and that looks excellent. Talking about your camper van, how about you take us for a trip down to the beach, make a brew and show us a bit more about the wonderful coast and what your plans for the van are? All he best Gordon
@@GordonjSmith1 Hi Gordon It's a really good piece of kit and I'm sure we'll use it a lot. Yes, I'm definitely planning for an update on the van and what a great idea to tie that in with a beach walk 😀 Will have to wait for quieter weather though as there's a storm raging over us right now 😳😳 Take care my friend and have a great weekend 👍👍👍👍
Wow cool 😎. Rock on 🤘 Woody, Ali 🥶🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden Thanks Ali Going to get some really good use out of it! Have a great week ahead and stay warm 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶♥️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

If in remote areas or on a flight does it connect to satellite if no network available?
@@claudiochisani4120 Great question! As far as I know the technology is still in ongoing development, so though satellites enhance 5G I don't think at this time they can replace it. Hope that helps 👍👍
I see a lot of good leaves to eat there. I had some bad news this last month. I have Fibrosis and a lesion on my lung. The tell me that it will make me sicker if they try to fix it. I don't think there's any more serious than dead to be honest. How do I feel about it? Not good, but I have plans for the spring and a lot more questions to ask. I will keep gardening as long as I can, even though I have to pay for help
@@kath-phlox Hi Kath Yes, there's plenty of nice salad leaves available in the greenhouse. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but it's positive that you have plans ahead and keep the garden going. Take care my friend ♥️♥️♥️
We could do with some of your rain Woody it has been the driest January in decades 😢 it doesn’t bode well for us come summer. Back yard looks good 👍, Ali 🌞🥶🥶🇨🇦

@@cumbrianhomestead Of course!
Great Video. Do you know if it is possible to take some cuttings during the winter to propagate indoors in a grow tent? Would this harm or be bad for the main plant at all? Thanks.
@@X-Ray_Planet_Earth Hi there It won't hurt the plant to take a few cuttings during winter, wether they'd succeed indoors I could not say ( I've never tried it or have a grow tent. Nothing to lose by having a go 😀🤞 Thanks for watching 🙏👍
Hope so I saw the start of the title the "scourge of chewing...." As 🐰🐰 have got at the ten year old trees in our little orchard I thought you'd been hit. Reckon I'll lose half of the ten trees due to damage However, back on track with your video. Yes hopefully it might sort the station and streets
We have them here I think they are made from recycled chewing gum. Either way it’s a disgusting bio hazard spitting it on the floor and they work when people remember use them👍🇬🇬
Do you pay for a subsription Woody?
@@GordonjSmith1 I haven't at the moment Gordon, you get a complimentary 1G of data. I've read that you can get a better deal with certain SIM cards but I've yet to look into that. ATB my friend 👍👍👍
Thanks for this. I need to move a rambler but didn't want to cut all the way back.

@@TheMusicianTom Thanks for stopping by, a tragic event for sure. A similar tragedy occurred during ww2 when a bomber crashed into the mountain near Coniston .
Hi Woody, If that was here, My first guess would be a Red Tailed Hawk, simply because they are the most common.
@@trollforge Hi Tim I think it was probably either sparrow hawk or possibly a peregrine, though I think there are now red kites in the area so could have been that.
I have had woolly aphids for the first time this year, spoiled my raspberries a bit. I found just hosing them down every other day seemed to keep them at bay.

@@myrustygarden I love the way that this light can be moved around to suit various needs, but thinking we might use it in the van as an emergency backup. Merry Christmas to you and yours Ali 🌲⛄🌲🎅🎅🇬🇧

@@DigwellGreenfingers Lol 😂😂😂 Very true Steve! It's a really great piece of kit and I'm happy to have it. Take care buddy 👍👍👍
I rarely travel by train these days, but I used to enjoy that journey home years ago. Had some cracking times on the salt marsh on the southern side (Arnside -Milnethorpe). As we have no bus service in the village it's too much hassle to drive into Penrith and get the train, more convenient to just drive to wherever we are going. We make an exception if we are heading into Glasgow or similar. Rural buses eh?
@@petercresswell5402 We use train quite a lot, but yesterday had to use the bus as trains delayed 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the home brew update, Woody. Hope you and the family have a wonderful holiday season.

Love your video. Take care and pace yourself. Your videos remind in some ways of what I saw in my childhood. I am so envious that you can have a burn bin. In my own City (now) we are not allowed to burn garden waste. Next by-law coming up in 2025/6 is no wood burning fireplaces to be allowed either. We are enjoying our fireplace while we can. Why must everything be taken out of the natural environment. Makes me sad.
@@kmurray67 I think it's awful that you can no longer burn garden waste or after next year not have a wood burning fireplace, it's the 'net zero' agenda gone mad 😡😡. They're pushing the same agenda here but so far in my county there are very few places where you can't burn Logs. etc. Have a lovely day and take care ATB 👍👍👍
Great looking garden. Onions look great and your cider is cold filtering. I did 10 gallons this year and 1-1/2 gallons of Pinot noir wine from my greenhouse vines. Great video thank you for the update
@@BusyBeaver22 Hey I really appreciate your feedback my friend! 1.5 gals of Pinot Noir ...... Wow fantastic 👏👏 I had a 'black Hamburg' vine on my old allotment which produced large yields but sadly not really any good for wine 😞 Have a great day 👍👍👍
The glass looks lovely though 🥶 I bet the plants don’t think so 😂. I put beets out 🤞🤞 but my spinach is not happy with the cold. Do you think I if you took the lambs lettuce in the house it would be better. That’s how Gerald dries out stuff to burn too, but tomorrow is our last burn day of the year 😢😢. lol looks like a bramble to me but then they all look alike. Keep warm and stay safe, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden Hi Ali Yes that might be a good idea taking the lambs lettuce indoors for a while 👌 Why can't you burn anything after tomorrow? Tayberry closely resembles a bramble; I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens. Have a great weekend ♥️
@ we are only allowed to burn twice a year in March and Nov and that requires a permit. It’s all a faff about whining city dwellers 😅😅 and fresh air 🤦🏼♀️ who don’t understand country living. They all want to live in the country as long as it’s a city environment 🤣🤣
