New Codling moth Trap| Pheromone Trap| Protect your Apples| Planting up the raised vegetable Beds|
I purchased a new Codling Moth Pheromone Trap after having huge damage to my apple crop last year and have hung this in one of the fruit trees on the Micro-orchard. I've also ordered a replacement/refill kit for my existing trap which I will use to protect our multi-grafted apple tree at home.
The raised beds in our back yard veg plot are getting gradually planted out and I have lots of seedlings coming along e.g. french beans, multi sown turnips, onions, beets, lettuces, radishes, Kale, Squash, basil and Coriander.
My early (Rocket) and second early potatoes (Nicola) are looking healthy and I've fed them with some extra NPK to boost yield. There was a Sparrowhawk on the orchard.

Oh very interesting 🧐. Sounds like it’s pouring there again, here too 😢😢. All my basil is in the house as it’s way too cold outside it’s supposed to drop to 4c nights 😱😱 it’s nearly June. I have leaf miner in my chard. They over winter in the soil so this is my fault I had it on beets in same bed last year. I’m going to til the soil in winter especially if it snows that should kill off some. Great update Woody have a super week, Ali 🌧️🌧️🇨🇦

Yes, we had some really intense rain and strong winds Wednesday.
4C 🥶🥶🥶🥶 and nearly June too, it's crazy 😧😧😧.

i found that in my years on the plot, late growing plants, including peppers, seem to grow quicker growing in the open beds rather than in pots...................brian

Hi mate, I've got the green trap, but like the look of new one better. Where did you get I from and can you buy the lure refills? Sparrows are wrecking my peas and beetroot. Plot looking pristine 👏👏👍

I bought it off eBay ( just search for 'codling moth trap) yes, I also found someone selling just the lure refills.
I recovered my beets and spinach with enviromesh but going to have to have a new plan for the peas, the amount of damage is shocking 😲🥺.

I watched a sparroe hawk defeather a sparrow while it sat on the arm of my garden bench. I was shocked that the hawk was so small.
