Are you looking for a new place to visit or live? I know I am, which is why I started this channel. I comb through data to find which communities are worth checking out, as well as which ones should be avoided. Along the way, I also make videos about any interesting things that I uncover about these places, such as who the richest people are, or which states have the happiest people. If you find data, geography, trivia and generally nerdy things to be fascinating, be sure to subscribe to the channel!

Vermont is THE Weirdest State
The United States is comprised of 50 unique, individual states that all have their own personality. Some of them are just downright weird, and I think that Vermont might just be the weirdest one of all. If not, it's at least in the top five. In this video, I cover five reasons for why I find The Green Mountain State to be so unusual.

Reasons to Move to Illinois
มุมมอง 487หลายเดือนก่อน
Given the recent developments in the United States, many women and marginalized people are looking for a new place to live. This is because some states have more personal freedoms than others. My home state, Illinois, has quite a few rights granted to its citizens that the surrounding Midwest states just don't have, so it may be a good place to consider for relocation. In this video, we're taki...
New Hampshire's Poorest Cities
มุมมอง 8K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Every state in the nation has communities full of affluent people, as well as communities where the residents are struggling to make ends meet, but New Hampshire is kind of quirky in this regard. It is home to an Ivy League school, and their residents are more likely to have at least a four-year degree than other states. This means that even those communities that have a lower median household ...
The 5 Missouri Communities with the Highest Poverty Rates
มุมมอง 7526 หลายเดือนก่อน
The sad reality of American society is that there are those who have a lot and those who have very little. The state of Missouri is fairly average when it comes to poverty and median household income levels, but some communities have been harder hit than others by things like failing school systems, a lack of decent jobs, systemic racism, and other problems, so I thought we would uncover the fi...
Kansas City VS. Chicago: How They Stack Up
มุมมอง 1.9K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Chicago is often mentioned by politicians as being one of the worst cities in the country when it comes to crime, particularly violent crime, as well as poverty. But does Chicago deserve all the hate it receives? Maybe another Midwest city that is also known for its BBQ and Jazz music is worse? Is Kansas City an alternative destination for those who are considering Chicago? In this video, I com...
The 7 Poorest Places in Maine
มุมมอง 75K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
All across the United States, there are communities grappling with poverty, lack of affordable housing, food insecurity, and other issues related to low income jobs. However, some states are better at handling and addressing those issues than others. Maine is one of those states. Even their poorest communities are usually more safe than those in other states. In this video, we're taking a look ...

Illinois Exodus: 6 Reasons Why People Are Fleeing the Land of Lincoln
If you make 100k plus a year you will like new england if you dont stay far away.
There are very few 'one of a kind' states in this country. This is one of them. Honestly - it's the only state that really exists that actually 'feels' as if it has retained a large amount of its history and heritage.
Cheap doesn’t involve Illinois lmfao
I love my home state but all these idiots moving in from surrounding states because they voted into morons and supported laws that just ruin your freedoms
How are States Ran? The Governor doesn't see how certain counties need improvements?
Define poorest? When I think poor I certainly don't think of these towns on the list. I was born and raised in central Maine, lived here for 49 years, earned a 4 year college degree in Maine and have been a Maine Realtor for 21 years. With all due respect, you pronounced Orono incorrectly.
I said in the video that these are the places with the lowest median household income. And I'm hooked on phonics, so I pronounce all of the letters. 🤷🏼♀️
Your metrics of judging is slightly off I believe. The problem with using Poverty rate is that real Poverty should be figured based on how much it costs to live in that specific place. Poverty is usually based on if you have the income to provide the basics. The cost of housing is vastly different. Poverty levels should reflect this. Also I think you’re going to find out more and more that college education doesn’t really mean anything. What you’re college education was for matters much more. The only reason College is a net positive in income is be half the majors have a big impact on income and the other half either make little to no impact on income or success. Some majors are actually shown to make you less successful than if you didn’t have one at all. Also the metrics you have used are basically what everyone else uses so don’t feel bad. Just an observation.😊
Thank you for mansplaining this to me. I don't know what I would have done without it.
Kendalltucky lol
Please stay away
Er? Rumford?
I live in moline it sucks ass
Canton?....all there is to do in Canton is get high and drink...might see a domestic violence call on a Friday or Saturday for excitement.
NH is just wicked dynamic and kind of mirrors its neighbors. The seacoast is like Portland ME, the southern/central area is like MA, Keene area is more VT-aligned, and the northern Coos area is kind of like the rural parts of ME and VT combined. I grew up in rural VT, moved to rural NH and lived in every subcategory of NH besides the lakes region and seacoast. I've never heard about being the Texas of New England, but I can see the similarities. Being so "Live Free or Die" while also being the only state that's landlocked from recreational devils lettuce is pretty cool. We get by on the taxes thing in weird ways, but there's also just massive tourism all around. I love NE (not you CT) and I guess that makes it OK if we are just the place no one's ever heard of but wants to come visit anyways.
I grew up and currently live in Bangor. I was in the U.S. Navy for six years and have lived in several different states. It was wonderful to finally come back home. I know I’ll never leave again. So much of Maine is just untouched raw beauty with a lot of history. The more untouched, the better. No billboards. No trash lining the interstate. The coast, the mountains, the lakes, the wildlife, hiking, camping, forests and rivers. We have it all including four seasons in every year ♥️
Rockland is expensive to live!
Where is Ford Heights?
And don't forget the legal system is corrupting them towns
East St Louis Illinois and Washington Park Illinois They are 🚽🚽 Matter of fact St Clair County IL and Madison County IL are Wastewater treatment plants ☣️ Biohazardous waste ☣️ Dead embroidery cells walking around. Moline IL is going to get a whole lot worse does John Deere went to Mexico John Deere pulled out of Illinois and Iowa . 🚜 That's going to leave a very big void . Belleville IL is now a 🚽☣️ because of East St Louis Illinois moved up there because EST IL doesn't have apartments or houses left. 🏚️ I have moved to Missouri ever since 1994 That ever since New Year's Day of 2007 i moved away from St Louis for 18 years now. I graduated from Belleville East high School Belleville is not my hometown anymore . 🚜 Belleville IL East main Street and West main Street used to be wonderful as a kid Now it's all boarded up a lot of those Businesses . Those businesses have on their businesses now leasing Dexter 🧔

when Chicago is the equivent of New York, when a water tower is considered a national monument, when we have no idea what driving distance is, when you overstay your welcome, when there is either a bar or a church on every corner of your hometown, when over half the people you know are from a small town, a city is considered more than 10,000 people, you spend abut ninety percent of your leisure time talking to complete strangers, corn holes was your football durring childhood, your top priority is your family members, if you are from Wisconsin remember, the Packers are better than the Bears, you cant be out in the counry for more than ten minutes without seeing a farm, cow or a tractor.
They talk about hell freezing over… Hell did freeze over it’s called maine
I live close to Sioux Center. I don't even like to visit let alone live there. If I had my way I wouldn't even be in Iowa.
Nice but the problem is they don’t speak about Job opportunities. It doesn’t matter how safe and affordable the area is unless you have income from other sources besides jobs.
I find it hard to believe that Caribou is the only poor town in Aroostook county. Did you look at Ft. Fairfield, Limestone, Easton? Iirc those were pretty poor towns.
Great post! I have lived in IL but never heard of most of these towns. Share with me if you would, how does Macomb rate in the categories of your comparisons? Thanks
What about Ford Heights
Taxed up the wazoo!!!!
Born and raised in New Hampshire myself, it’s interesting to see outside perspectives! We are definitely diverse and do support unique diversity with our political party, we often joke that we are the purple state. As far so the live free or die, we very much embrace our freedom and value our rights highly most of the time. The seat belt is true and we are also a state that are very strong in the beliefs of the rights to bear arms as well! The alien story I have heard of a couple years ago but I didn’t realize that it was based in New Hampshire 🤔
Winslow? Big G's has closed. My heart is broken.
48 years in illinois. It sucks. Don't move here. Get out if you can.
I live in maple grove/ Brooklyn park. It’s not that bad ngl
Yeah richmond sucks its ghetto af
Gardener is a dump, don’t look at the stats, I grew up there.
The Illinois license plate should be changed from the land of Lincoln To the land of corruption. 9 places to not move to in Illinois that's funny. I am from Cahokia IL it is a toilet it is near East St Louis Illinois and Washington Park Illinois they are cesspools . Oh I didn't forget about you Northbrook Illinois Now why do I pick on this town It is because that is a dangerous town Hey wait a minute dangerous Yes It has beautiful homes beautiful cars beautiful clothing beautiful girls It's a pedigree town of privilege They live in beautiful gated communities with beautiful mc mansions . With security and Gates How is that dangerous Those Nissan Altimas I'm giggling You could drop those Nissan Altimas into Somalia and those people over in Somalia will start waving the white flag Immediately All of Illinois is hopeless Not just the northern suburbs of Chiraq St Clair County and Madison County they are hell on Earth down here . If you are considering to moving to Illinois don't Take a hammer Hit your big toe If you can live with that pain you may move here if you if you want. Biohazardous waste ☣️ You can't tell Illinois from North Korea turn the same state
My sister lives in Sorento
I looked at Maine when I was House hunting. Maine is beautiful but it is one of the most taxed states in the USA. They also tax your pension 6% per year. I settled in New Hampshire. NO state tax, No sales tax, My pension is safe, I pay 3,000$ in Property tax on a half million dollar home. I have a beautiful view and NO view tax. FUCK MAINE---New Hampshire beats Maine by a country mile, when it comes to taxes. We also can carry firearms without a licence . If you have no felonies, and are a New Hampshire resident you can carry a gun without a licence. Why live in a government controlled state that taxes your ass constantly???? New Hampshire is ten times better than overtaxed Maine.
A problem woth most of thses towns is the supply and quality of local jobs, medical care and basic necessities. If you are retired, don't have any interest in leaving the house for recreation, and are able to reduce all your shopping to one 50 mile round trip per week they are cheap places to live. The reason that crime is low is that there's little to envy.
Before I even watch this I’d bet Cairo Illinois is on this list
Well I didn’t have to wait very long for that 😂
Anything south of Bangor is liberal..Northern more Constitutional Conservative.. i lived in St Francis and 40 year's later I still miss my time up there . Absolutely Beautiful
Me: Moved to Gardiner. My landlord after I'd already signed a lease: I need you to sign this too. The walls are filled with lead.
Well, we wouldn’t have these poor communities if our politicians would be doing their jobs and offering a high-speed train across the state jackasses
That's really true about the twin cities been having so much crimes over the years to now a days because more and more Ghetto's and Latin Americans crimes are trafficking their crimes from out of other States into MN every other weeks especially more from CA and than Cleveland,Detroit and Chicago than Milwaukee to the Twin Cities and that makes it is not a safe State to lived in anymore theses days with gang violence, drugs dealers, drug addicts, mass shootings, aggravated assaults robberys, pimpin and prostitutions every where now a days and it's not like the 80's and 90's anymore.
"You Know, Like You Do", Hahaha
An older population and a lot of people who won't work. An incredibly beautiful state but it hurts itself.
I live in a very small town, population 1,300 in North Central Illinois. Safest, quietest place you could ever hope for. Chicago’s goofy policies don’t really affect us here.
Most Nh laws suck. I'm on the fence 😂
Ex-Vermonter here, specifically from Barre City. Barre City and Barre Towne are different. I don't know how much it has changed over the years since I left in '99, but back when I lived there, Barre City was one of the more locally known 'Bad' areas of the state. Literally had to have a buddy system in the old school that was centered in the middle of the city and the reasons where for bullying, violence and trafficking. Barre Towne has the more calm reputable portion of the area. Still wouldn't be caught out after certain times after sundown for kids, but you're less likely to be attacked by randos looking for money/drugs. A quarter of my family lived in Barre City on the other side (still in the city) and yeah, not great. That's one of the reasons why City and Towne are used to differentiate the two other than the fact that they are separate areas.
Is Genoa on this list?
Best part of the state is extreme So. Illinois as you're on your way out through Cairo.
In Iowa 10,000 or more is not a small town. Marion has Afroman and his Dad, you don't want to know. The museum at Decorah is awesome.
