What Made Loris Capirossi A Great Rider
What Made Loris Capirossi A Great Rider? Well he made history by becoming the first Ducati rider to claim a MotoGP race for the factory during their debut season in 2003. He led the factory in the Grand Prix challenges until Casey Stoner arrived in 2007. He was a challenger and a winner, taking many victories in the 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and even the MotoGP. By the time he retired, he had held the record for the greatest number of Grand Prix starts, a total of 328 between 1990 and 2011, before Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi beat the record. He was a fantastic rider from the moment he got his hands on a bike and lived to prove it. What made Loris Capirossi one of the greats? Let's find out.
His first debut was with the Polini Honda team in 1990 for the 125cc class, which Paolo Pileri, a former world champion at the time, ran. What Made Loris Capirossi A Great Rider at the time is that he was in the top six on several occasions and was on the podium eight times. He claimed victories in Britain, Hungary, and Australia. In his very first full Grand Prix season, he claimed the championship. What’s more, he was only seventeen at the time.
He took to his second season in 1991 and did even better as he defended his 125cc title without giving a sweat. He was out of the front grid only once, took five pole positions, and summed it up with four fastest laps. Out of the thirteen rounds, he stood on the podium twelve times and finished in 6th place in Austria. What Made Loris Capirossi A Great Rider is he took second place five times and won Australia, Malaysia, and three events in Europe. He had 225 totals when all he needed was 200 to rise to the 250cc class.

Francesco Bagnaia is facing a difficult decision. He has carried the #63 throughout his premier-class career, but a new challenge has arisen after grabbing the 2022 MotoGP championship. His victory during last year's season has brought him new opportunities, and he could be the next reigning champion to run the #1 after Casey Stoner since 2012. He changed his mind several times until he decided...

Having seen all the greats from 1963 through to the modern day, I can say with my hand upon my heart that I have not seen another rider that was even close to him in terms of natural skill. He was a grade up from genius. I know that the machinery under you makes a massive difference to how well you race. But to Hailwood it didn't seem to matter. I recall one year before either the 350 or 500 race at the TT, his chosen bike wouldn't start. Some guy who had qualified around 25th offered Mike his 'second' bike. Mike borrowed the guy's second bike, a Manx Norton, and led the race, broke the lap record and then blew the bike up so he didn't finish. I cannot imagine Rossi, Roberts or even Doohan etc riding the reserve bike of a guy that qualified 25th and leading the race on it. RIP Mike...you gave me immense joy watching you race over all those years.

Nicky had 5 years on a Ducati. He was far from unbeatable in Moto GP with a total of only 3 wins over 14 years. He is one of only a few riders to win a Moto GP and a World Superbike race. If the bikes had stayed at 990cc with no electronics I think he would have won a few more races on the Honda.

Roberts senior,s achievement,s on track were matched by his achievements off the track. His contributions to rider safety & remuneration are unparalleled. He made the FIM sit up & listen. And listen they did! So to my mind. Kenny Roberts senior is the most influential GP rider. A true Champion on & off the track.
