eh yeah echoes does got some bad gameplay a lot of the time but thats the only point i can agree with i like the characters in echoes a lot one of my more liked FE casts still not as good as like three houses but still i like most of the characters in echoes and thats a good thing since in some FE games i like dont care about half the cast

In a game that has Soren, Titania, Shinon, Ranulf, Muarim, Reyson, Tibarn, Naesala, Jill, Haar, Mordecai, Nephenee, i could literally go on, like "Makalov is funny and likeable"??? Where? And then Pelleas and i just burst out laughing, i dont know if ive ever given him a second thought, never used him, probably never will

Look i know people hate doing this one blind but hinoka is such a peak map. The dragon vein gimmick is honestly one of my favorites especially since a boss uses it and it does that on top of the usual fates special of packing many smaller challenges into one map that all relate to each other. From the large open water that can be traversed in a single turn on the east to azamas hexing rod to the reinforcements from the south it really does have so much going on. A little begginer unfriendly but rewards heavy planning and reliable tactics like a good cq map shouls

I think the word "best" should be replaced with "favorite" instead. Best, at least to me, implies their usage in battle rather than character or design. Favorite would fit characters like Ogier more than best does.

I love when the jokes end up way too dark and controversial but the Hamster still manages to be funny and lighthearted doing it. Definetly my type of humor.

One of the smallest things I love about Heirs of Fate, is that when Shiro, Kiragi, Siegbert and Forrest talk to their parents, they say things like: "I want you to mess with my hair like before" "catch me when I jump to your arms" "put your hand on my shoulder" "hug me when we reunite" and they show images of Ryoma, Takumi, Xander and Leo doing that at the credits, IT'S SO SWEET!

Dude, your content has to pop off sometime soon. Your production value is really good. Too bad FE content isn't doing too well right now. The Fates to Three Houses era of content creation is sadly in the past.

The best part of this DLC was we got to hear Matt Mercer's stunning singing voice. That duet with Rena Strober in the finale was just... *chefs kiss*.

My way of fixing the latter half of the game (though this would admittedly run into some MAJOR story and gameplay re-balancing issues) is to introduce the Dark Emblems after that point. Like, we've defeated the Hounds and now have the upper hand. Sombron knows we likely stand a valid chance at defeating him, so starts bringing in weaker versions of the Dark Emblems (and potentially some of their minions) to reinforce his army. This would solve 3 things: 1) Escalation of power. The Dark Emblems were such a cool idea that didn't have enough screen time to get the necessary depth out of them. You don't even need to make them talk, like in the final battle (though it'd be cool), just thematically important to each of the chapters after that point. 2) Escalation of character. Sombron not using this power before can be handwaved with "he didn't take you seriously enough before" or some such (which is admittedly a bit lazy, but I can't think of a good enough reason other than he's *slowly* regaining power), but the impacts can be seen almost immediately. His regaining of power is starting to increase in rate, and establishes that even with only a fraction of it left, he's a major threat to everyone. Yes, we got back a lot of the Emblem rings and can now take the fight to him, but its not going to be easy. It helps ties in Engage's role as a 30 year celebration game of reinforcing him lore-wise quite possibly THE strongest villain next to threats like Grima. Also highlights one of Sombron's weaknesses of being too tunnel-visioned on his goal of reuniting with Zero Emblem being one of his downfalls in the end. I mean, if he was more active and less dismissive of the world around him, Sombron could've won pretty handily IMO. 3) Escalation of gameplay. The Dark Emblems don't need to be anything super out of this world (and they shouldn't be unless playing on Lunatic on the final map), by the midpoint in the game you now outnumber the Hounds in terms of Emblem rings. It can be fun for a chapter or two, but gets real steam-rolly until the one chapter where you have to pick them up off the ground (DLC not included), and then goes right back to snowballing. I think taking a page out of the escape chapter could be a decent idea, with the Dark Emblems effectively using the inverse of each of the Emblems' abilities in terms of gameplay, but being granted to the Hounds or similar as a "2nd health bar" for each time you fight them afterwards to up the ante. For example, Medeus could slow down foes within a 1-tile radius, reducing their Avo and making them easier to hit (opposite of Marth's effect), and Anankos could create a small "poison pond" that buffs Corrupted's movement by 1, but only once (corruption of Corrin's effect). Obviously, this is a major overhaul, but that's the point of it. One thing I think Engage did really well was combining story beats with the chapters Emblems are introduced/reintroduced, and you could literally keep going with that all the way until the game is done.

The only thing that was correct here is your saying the map design is bad, everything else is BS

You know they could have had you kill the Hounds here and then have Sombrom summon FE villains from old games as his big plot, so you may have beaten the Hounds but now you have to fight an unknown but large number of extremely deadly threats like Garron, Gharnef, Duma and Mila, and just all sorts of other Big Bads in a gauntlet revisiting the other kingdoms that have been besieged by the armies and forces these characters could bring to bear. And then after fighting multiple armies you arrive to Sombrom who has been infused with the power of the villains that weren’t summoned yet making him a multiphase boss who swaps between all of these other End boss’s fighting styles ending a big-ass dragon. IDK I think that sounds like a way better end game for a game celebrating the series.

I absolutely disagree with Alan being boring in the first episode. His neurotic tendencies and weird accent that always makes him sound zesty or sarcastic, the fact that he immediately breaks character bc of the wall guy, the fact that he was literally crucified and all he has to say is his cheese. He's the whole reason why I even watched this show.

Accidently saved over my save file of the final chapter with the prologue and got so upset I just never picked up the game again. I only found out theres an arc based around Grima after the main story literally yesterday.

How does one even get heirs of Fates these days

I love Echoes so much, it is up there in my favorites list. But it is a game with little replayability in my eyes. You play it once and done. I love the music, characters, art style so much

Honestly as cool as Fates split path idea is, the DLC shows that a shorter or just a more condensed story would have really helped. To be fair part of why this DLC is as good as it is, is because of the split path of the base game so... I just wish one day we get a complete version of Fates officially released. Since it's just a easy money maker sitting in there laps.

Kinda sad that many refused to pick up the DLC out of principle, because these were pretty damn good. I believe in a theory looking back at Fates as a whole: whoever wrote the DLC stories was in a separate silo from the main team, there were several inconsistencies ESPECIALLY the Corrin’s origin DLC ones. A related note: I’m still extra pissed they completely ignored the Festival DLC. What a massive let down.

Honestly Heirs of Fate is so good that I wish it was Revalations instead. Imagine getting a full campaign of this quality with these characters instead of the few we get from the dlc. Also it's just a far more interesting concept then Rev is. The children of a post conquest timeline teaming up with the kids of a post birthright timeline is so much more interesting than Corrin refusing to chose a side and magically getting everyone to jump off the cliff with them. And now that the ideas are flowing. I'd say take the child units out of base Birthright and Conquest (because I hate the deep realm concept) while still keeping S ranks and then the pairs you made in your Birthright and Conquest playthroughs decide how your units for this new Rev route are.

YES! I love Heirs of fates

Man, the Heirs of Fate DLC story hits me incredibly hard whenever I play it. I bawl like a baby when I get to the end and see all the heartwarming CGs of the Kanas and the royal kids with their parents. Not to mention, Shigure's situation and backstory are so heartbreaking in this story, cause it's more fleshed out. (This is bordering spoiler territory, so continue at your own risk). When going up against Takumi in Heirs of Fates, if you see his weapon, he's wielding Skadi. He only wields this in the endgame of CQ. So does that mean Kiragi is going up against an already dead/possessed version of his father in Heirs of Fate? If so, that's kinda sad and a bit mindfucky lol.

It's actually crazy how much better and cohesive the Fates dlc is compared to the main story. I used to play Heirs of Fate over and over, trying to get shorter and shorter turn counts every so often, just because it was genuinely so much fun.
