    Very good video! i like the subtle lead into the next video as well :) You'll do well. Do you have a video that covers speed? All videos seem to cover aiming and applying spin. Very few go the third degree with the speed and the same aim line and spin applied.

    Funny how you mention "adaptation" but you allow none of it and excuse it for hopelessly firing at will. Yes, haters are always going to say what you say they will say...of course, BUT, the real world lays outside the expanse of your insincere mind buddy. You don't fool me with your schemes here. Pool is a realm. You dont play pool, you play game theories. Game theories for pool such as 9ball etc etc have a declared start and end point, built upon a surrounding score that has the final say. With billions of litteral shot relationships and its own criteria, along with its varying degree of demand, ADAPTATION, is an inescapable component in which, the easiest shots as a binary rule of simply pocketing the ball....can be missed, as well as (pay attention) POSITION in every sense of the word as it applicably APPLIES, can, PUT STRESS, on the easiest "of" shots. ADAPTABILITY is the inescapable deciding factor, all things being equal. The only thing GENIUS for you to derive from your lack of integrity is the fact that TH-cam will not allow me to BLOCK your sorry ass. 🤔... what was it that Tony Montana said in Scarface....oh heh😏: "HE SAY go puh yer finger... in'son DYKE"

    As boring as it sounds, planting the rearward foot as precise as possible is the start of my setup routine. But I agree, to cue confidently, you need to stick to your setup routine. As a RH player my left foot placement is my priority after deciding the cue ball strike while planning the shot for position. Then get down, commit to take the shot, trust your technique (don’t overthink that when cueing, that’s what practice is for)

    JL Chang is a great example of a Pro with a SHORT back swing. Chang is a large man amongst his fellow pool professionals, and yet his back swing is very short and compact, and his play is amongst the best on the planet. Shortening my back swing has vastly improved my shot making & overall game...

    As a female pool player, this has been my downfall. I'm known as a 'soft shooter' and have had many people compliment this about me. However when it comes time to get to the other end of the table, I tend to leave myself long shots that while I'm comfortable shooting, are more likely to leave myself bad for the next shot. Hitting more aggressively causes me to miss my ball more, but shortening my back swing has helped.

      With modern chalks like v10 etc, you don't HAVE to do it, but I would highly recommend it. It's something familiar and safe, so it can calm you when you're nervous.

      No, that would probably make you decelerate, so don't do that. But keep it short and quick. I like to think stop when I hit the cloth.

    Nice video and tips. I have to disagree with the “don’t ever get up” tip as sometimes you haven’t lined up straight or got the stance right as opposed to having doubt about the shot. In those cases I always benefit from standing up and resetting and always regret staying down to just play the shot, which 99% of the time I end up missing. But I’ll try the other tips 😎

    • @PoolProblems
      @PoolProblems 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of people are misunderstanding that tip, and it probably comes down to me not being clear enough. When I say standing up and reseting is a "double edge sword", I mean it has two sides, one good and one bad. The bad being you allowing doubt to come into your mind at any given time, even right before pulling the trigger. So the tip is most of all a practice method (and I say this, but people still think I mean "don't ever get up"). If you practice like this you develop a better pre shot routine, since you have to commit to the line of shot and tip placement you vizualize while standing. And you get to experience how it feels to shoot without doubt, meaning you develop confidence. You'll see that a lot of times you feel doubt, you are infact properly aligned. So practice like this for 10 minutes and see how it feels afterwards.

    • @PoolProblems
      @PoolProblems 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should, yes. You can pull off a longer jumpshot with a break cue, but if your only option is using a playing cue with a softer tip and low deflection shaft, I wouldn't recommend trying to jump.

    What I noticed. 1) The top elbow moves out after your pause and before your stroke. Anticipating the shot? It is fine during your pre-strokes. 2) Your wrist is not parallel to the ground, it is bent outward; this could cause your elbow issue…and your straight stroke issue. 3) You are bending both legs, which is fine for some people, but it is harder to keep the body still with all that movement. NOTE: I also have a hard time completely stopping the cue ball on stop shots; it tends to go right or left. I think my issue is not seeing straight on the cue ball. I have been told my stroke is straight, so I figured that is what it is. Need to find my vision center and memorize it.

  • @karenwisusa6258
    @karenwisusa6258 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree with using a bottle to stroke through, but with a modification… I generally shoot right handed, but decided to shoot left handed this year. One of the things I noticed is my cueing is not straight, mostly horizontally. I checked my stance, alignment, etc. and cannot find much out of line to be cueing that way. My solution: I took two clear plastic water bottles (smallest diameter I had), cut them, and taped them together so both small ends were lined up and on each end. I used cardboard to raise the modified bottle to the height of my bridge hand. I started cueing slowly through one, then through both. It was a bit of a pain starting off because the bottle kept moving, but that was instant feedback for correction. Once I was cueing better, I sped up to my stroke speed while cueing through both holes. Cueing through both holes in the bottles put my focus on cueing straight. If I keep practicing this, I am confident I will cue straighter with this technique. Muscle memory: Once I started stoking through the bottle, I could feel my upper arm muscles getting sore. It did not take too long to feel my muscles getting sore. With that said, I think this method is a way of training my muscles to deliver a straight stroke. -> For those who cannot figure out why you do not stroke straight when everything else seems to be ok, try practicing this technique and you may discover a your muscles need to be “retrained” to help you perform better. - The hard part is finding something that keeps your cue straight while you practice your strokes. You can place a cardboard box on each side of your cue while cueing, as I saw in another YT video. I just find the modified bottle method easier to do at home and it can be adjusted as you see fit. You could even set the bottles up to practice a jump stroke. NOTE: This is a good time to review and work on any other stroke or stance imperfections as well. Hope it helps someone.

  • @furin121

    The "shorten your backstroke" tip is one that has served me well when I remember to do it. I'm a tall, lanky kind of guy and I naturally want to have this super long backstroke. When I shorten it to what I feel is the minimum I can get away with my accuracy with the shot and position play both go up. The issue is that it's not muscle memory yet so I still end up reverting to the long backstroke in moments of anxiety.
