It’s never too late to try new things! Once you get good and really comfortable with the baitcaster, you will LOVE it. I grew up with spinning rods and it took me a while to break the habit of snapping the rod forward when casting, but the more I practiced, the easier it got and now it’s second nature!

It was a very rough day 😂😂😂 I may try to magnet fish again some day, it does seem like a lot of fun once you get it down

Yes, I actually have a light setup but I only use it when panfishing. I don’t have a use for it when it comes to bass fishing for the most part.

It depends, I use different line on different setups. It’s also important to note that if you have a lighter lure, it’s going to be super hard to cast if you don’t have lighter pound test. For my spinning set ups generally I run anywhere from 8-15lb braided main line. For most Baitcasting applications I run between 10-20lb Flurorocarbon with the only exceptions being when I’m fishing a top water or heavy cover, I’ll use anywhere from 30-65lb braid.

Nope, you’re totally right they’re still spawning down here in NC in that 65-75° water temp we have right now. I just didn’t have anything really to fish off beds because I mostly packed for the fly trip that never happened 😂😂 Thanks for the support though bro, I appreciate it!

Yep, your way works too. The only thing about your way is sometimes it can be hard to get the folded line through the eye of the hook on smaller hooks, that’s why I always run the line through the eye and then back back through the eye. But regardless both ways work 👍🏻

You want to pull the one tag end so that it’s cinches down. And then once you loop the other one around it and then you cinch that one down on top of it.

It’s sorta hard to see in the video but after the overhand knot, the other knot cinched down in between cuts, I should’ve made that part more clear. On the bottom of the short there’s a video where I better explain that part, sorry for the confusion lol.
