The more expensive fakes are the way to go. Almost no concernable differences between them and the $1200 plus authentic duponts.
I got the same Le Grand even the color is the same. I dropped it a few times, got some small scratches... I used different fuels it works perfect, but it keeps working perfect
That’s an amazing watch!
Thanks mate, ordered after watching your video. My wedding band looks brand new
Rock on!
How can i buy it and how much does it cost?
You can email me
Thanks for sharing. Can you provide more context to the video ? for example what made you suspicious (price paid?). Friend had asked you to validate ? etc
Bought mine online and I’ve not had any issues but I understand that it can be tricky and one needs to be careful
It’s certainly possible, just need to pay attention and choose a trustworthy seller.
That is a great looking watch. Super acquisition!
It’s not Saint DuPont , S.T. Is the initials of the founder Simon Tissot Dupont
The date font is bit smaller. but other than that I can't see any difference!
Where did you get the pen box?
It’s from a company called Laban, I used to sell those boxes 15 years ago.
Which gas are you using?
Overpriced DuPont gas
@@F4stFr3ddyDo you have a link for the black lacquered Ali express lighter? I can almost never find the exact product from a comment. I'd rather try my luck with one of those than shell out 1700 USD.
Does it also press the bezel back into place?
You can use the included dies to press it back on
I have the same DuPont Le Grand in gold finish and it works flawlessly. Something not adjusted right. Mine was adjusted for flame perfectly from purchase. Maybe the fuel you are using?
We need those Ali express links good brother lol
I just bought an original one and I'm a bit disappointed about the finish. I paid a huge amount and I expected the edges to line up when closed - well they don't line up, by design. This time I think it would've been smarter to choose the fake version. I never did that, but the pricing is just crazy for a clasp.
Did you actually get a genuine one?
Where do you buy these dies to remove bezels?
I design, print and sell them
I’d like to buy one - what’s your details ?
I agree... I love my trunk classic! It's easier to bring along two pairs of shoes on a two week trip.
Bargain. Enjoy
How do you reinstall it?
Put the bezel on and press it down
Luxury does not equal quality. Its just a markup in many cases
If you have the flame too low on the Le grand it won’t spark the torch part
In this case it didn’t matter, the flame was high enough. But if you have the flame too low the air just blows it out.
Is it safe to use on the side of the watch case?
Yes, as long as you don’t touch the anti reflective coating
@F4stFr3ddy which is the sapphire crystal glass right?
was somwhat said that i have a hard time using duopnt style lighter as a lefthanded person
Hi Freddy. Did you do the Maintenance Service or the Complete Service when you sent it to the service center?
IIRC I did battery service with polish or normal maintenance with polish. Didn’t opt for replacement of screens for example.
@ thank you!
Is this really a 5850? It looks like a good size for a small wrist. Not sure if I should get thr 5850 MB or 6850 MB
Yes 5850. It’s the perfect size. 6850 is slightly bigger, but less common.
emailed you!
I not long ago bought a non genuine clasp for my superocean rubber dive strap online, I knew it wasn't genuine but I hoped it would do the trick, it's useless it's difficult to fit to the strap it kind of locks but sits really weird and pops open by itself. It didn't bother me it was really inexpensive and I only bought it out of curiosity, I've since changed the rubber strap to a brand new genuine bracelet correct model for the watch, which definitely was not inexpensive but looks great and increases the value of the watch anyway.
Thank you 👍
I can't tell the difference between the 2 :( 12.5 x 40 = 500 so you can get about 13 cheep lighters for the price of the cheapest lighter S.T. sells.
There seems to be a very small selection of rubber straps for this folding clasp, and by small i mean 2 or 3 choices, it would be nice if there were a leather breitling 20/18 option.
Well take a look at the Breitling website, they release a bunch of new colors. But it could definitely be more.
Weird that you are having a problem with yours, i own a le grand x montecristo and it works flawlessly You should take it to dupont to let it be get checked
Glad to hear yours is fine, enjoy it
Found that $5 "Parike" lighter on Ali. Your video is one of the only ones showing it working. $5 to $1,500 for Le Grand is not even remotely comparable. I need a torch, and value function first, then form, then sound. To have your lighter not work every single time after e1,200 blows my mind. I also don't want to press the striker wheel "up" and have to hold it in an upward motion for any amount of time, the button looks like it works much better on the black & gold $5 lighter. I feel like these companies, DuPont or Apple (noticed the keyboard) build up a cult of personality where if you take a step back and ask "is this worth my money?" you may find other better alternatives out there. I don't even necessarily agree it's a scam--their target audience simply isn't you or me, it's those that think absolutely nothing of the price. This cohort would still demand that it works, though. I hope the return was successful.
Well said, I returned it without issues. I would have happily bought it for 300 euro, it’s just not worth the insane premium. Apple on the other hand, I make a living with a MacBook, I don’t mind the premium and they’ve never failed me.
@@F4stFr3ddyoh I like Apple products too, I guess I meant “the name carries weight irrespective of the item”.
Post the link to the “parike”

Does that spectre clone require a butane filling adapter?
Nope, just fill it up
@@F4stFr3ddy Excellent, thanks!
Beautiful watch. I cant believe how good it looks with the white dial. Lovely.
Hi! Did you wind up replacing the damaged lock? Rimowa sent me a replacement lock for my broken trunk lock, but I cannot get behind the inner liner to unscrew the old one. Any advice?
Yeah just peal the liner back at the top where it’s glued
Greetings. Do you have links for copy lighters ?
Search for “ping lighter”
@@F4stFr3ddy Ordered that 007 Spectre in black, Thanks!
I’m impressed!
That big red button makes it look cheap
Does that matter?
I have a Tag Heuer where the rubber disengrated, tag wants to replace the case because they don't sell the inserts separately. I'll never buy a watch with rubber accents ever again.
100% agree with you, only rubber parts on a watch should be replaceable strap.
What a wanker.
Thank you so much!😀
I always wanted an ST Dupont lighter, white and yellow metal, I think it’s worth it. Certain luxury items you do have to get used to and learn to adjust to it, like non hacking seconds on Patek, Omega and Panerai watches knowing that cheaper Seikos can hack 🤣, or the fact that new Montblanc fountain pen nibs all need a little bit of tuning when you get it because I don’t know how they pass quality control. But in the end, when you master your product to your taste in my opinion is worth it after.
Interesting perspective and I do agree to it to a degree. Perhaps I just expected too much
Disagree, if you have to learn to use it because its not “tuned” probably, and there is a product (lighter/pen) out there that functions better i will get that. When I pay for a premium product I dont expect to just “flex with the name” i expect it to work perfectly
@@ekstervogel9949 I like luxury things that last for generations, so I personalize with them. I like interacting with them every day. For example, luxury good year welt shoes, they are built in a way that within time your feet will soften the cork, the more you wear them the more comfortable they get. In addition, the more you polish / wax them overtime the better they look, specially with natural patina. Furthermore, sometimes I’ll even strip them to factory finish and color them myself. It’s not a brand flex, as most of the top shoe makers are not even known like that. For example, Antonio Meccariello, Norman Vilalta, Gaziano & Girling and others. To conclude, I like quality but not perfection since I like the personal aspect of things.
one thing is to improve your gadgets to your own style, another very different try to fix something just doesn’t work right, for e1200 i would expect nothing less than perfection on the lighter.
Much Appreciated!! 😊
The blue strap is gorgeous

Can’t go wrong with a sub! But for sure you need a fluted bezel in your life 😄
Impressive, I like the black one the most
