SCPS Bus Simulation

On this channel, I will be showcasing modifications of various vehicles in a few different simulations, primarily Rigs of Rods, Forza Horizon 3, Forza Horizon 4, and Forza Motorsports 7. For Rigs of Rods (a soft-body vehicle simulator), the majority of the modifications will be recreations of South Carolina school buses. Additionally, miscellaneous content (including educational content) will be shared. The goal of this channel is to share a love for many different types of vehicles, including cars and buses.

This 2016 C2 is powered by the 6.7L Cummins ISB, mated to an Allison PTS 2500. It’s in pretty rough shape on the exterior, interior, and mechanically, but sees the road almost daily. I suppose as long as it starts and gets the job done safely, it’s all good. Thanks for watching!

2018 Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX Cummins B6.7 | Allison PTS 3000 78 Passenger This bus (built mid-2017) was purchased as apart of a set of 3. The other two are equipped with an exhaust break, but apparently someone goofed when building this one, because it doesn’t have it. The exhaust break really comes into handy in certain situations, so this one not having it is less than ideal.

2008 Thomas C2 Still in Action (MBE906 + Child Safety Alarm)

This particular bus, 508-0939, spent most of its life in the school district I graduated from, and has since been transferred to the next district over. Surprisingly, it is still in service daily. These earlier C2’s were built in late 2006, so technically 2007 models, but they’re registered as 2008 model years.

2019 Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX 78 Passenger Cummins B6.7 | Allison PTS 3000 This 2019 HDX floated down the road, as most do. The DD8 still remains my favorite engine option in the HDX, especially because the one I drove had the 6th gear unlocked. That being said, this Cummins still held its own very well.

This is a pretty standard/straight-forward bus, built in mid-2015 and delivered shortly after. Pushing it around is a Cummins ISB 6.7 paired to the Allison 2500. It doesn’t have any of the fancy features that newer buses have (side cameras, backup cameras, etc.), so either you know how to drive it or you don’t. Is this a state owned bus?
District-owned, same specs as a state-owned bus except the seat color. Our state-owned ones (that are left) stay parked.
Nice & I can't wait to drive a school bus soon.
The funnest part for me is maneuvering the bus through tight turns!
I love the smell 😍 of the Mercedes-Benz MBE906 6.4L and MBE926 7.2L
Definitely some of my favorite engines also.
I never smell anything when im around those MBE’s, but Cat engines have a very strong smell to them
North Carolina pretty much orders C2s exclusively now. But where I drive in Union County (Monroe, NC), there’s still quite a few CEs (Maxxforce, Cummins, and Propane V8) and Blue Bird Visions (new propane V8 models). The C2 is superior to all of them. Now, my personal preference is actually the final generation of the Freightliner FS-65 with the Mercedes engine. Beefy, and faster off the line. This may also be because of my other job on much bigger tour buses.

@ they sold those HDX’s to Charlotte-Mecklenburg. They were being used for early college routes at UNCC last I remember. Was kinda sad to hear that because I drive rear engine motorcoaches full time.

@ We have maybe 4-5 school bus versions, but I wouldn’t have the opportunity to drive them. This one will most likely be retired given that its inspection expires next month-especially with the issues it’s having now.

@@amorkenzi Yep, I love them too. I believe BCSD may be down to one or two that haven’t been scrapped yet.
Finally! It sounds just like a broken engine fan. All of the mbe engine on the hdx engine fan in south Carolina is broken.
I dont think its broken, because thats what my HDX’s sound like but some hdx’s have different pitches than others
unless your talking about the squealing/squeaking at idle, my hdx's dont do that part

4:55 the breakdown sounds phenomenal
Apologize to step on your toes, but the “exhaust brake” is actually a Variable Geometry Turbo Brake, or “VGT Brake”, it’s a similar technology but I feel the VGT works better than an exhaust brake does. Thomas just never changed the switch and with the new DD8 offering an actual engine brake they just kept the switch the same, but any Cummins after 2007 epa uses a VGT brake instead of an exhaust brake.
