Apologize to step on your toes, but the “exhaust brake” is actually a Variable Geometry Turbo Brake, or “VGT Brake”, it’s a similar technology but I feel the VGT works better than an exhaust brake does. Thomas just never changed the switch and with the new DD8 offering an actual engine brake they just kept the switch the same, but any Cummins after 2007 epa uses a VGT brake instead of an exhaust brake.
