In this Coffee Talk we give you four easy steps to help you prepare for the unexpected. 1) Take Murphy’s Law to heart, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong”. But how many of us actually prepare? We want to ‘pretend’ that nothing bad will ever happen so the first step is to admit that bad things ...

Looks like a wonderful place! I haven't been to Virginia Beach in many years, but I'd like to go again someday. Great view from your room too!
It truly is our happy place 😊
It's lovely you have this haven of rest and have enjoyed it's comfort for all those years. Happy to hear you had a lovely family time here. Lovely and light, spacious and well appointed. The view of the ocean is gorgeous. Yes, it would be lovely to to stay here. Have a wonderful weekend. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Thanks Anita! We’ve made so many memories here over the years 😃
Nice and clean and comfortable and a great view too...think I'd be happy to stay there for sure!!
We absolutely love it there! Our happy place for sure 😊
Where is YOUR happy place?
What an amazing tour of the Allure of the Seas! Seeing the ship deck by deck really highlights all the incredible amenities and stunning views. The excursion prices seem worth it for such an experience! 💖
The Allure was a great ship and we thoroughly enjoyed our excursions that we took. Thanks for watching and for your kind words of encouragement. 😃
This is one of my dreams to go OLD REDS WITH BLAKE SHELTON
We love Blake & Ole Reds! 😊
Yes there is a slight hum in the background. Didn't notice it the first time I watched. Reminds me of a fridge motor or something. Might be one of the mics as it tends to go away a couple times during the video. Great video with some good ideas. We also have an all electric house and run into the same problems Y'all have. Weeks without power and we live in town. Handle it the same way(Camp stove and Kerosene heater). Got the camp stove in the '90's from my wife for Christmas. Just so happened we got an ice storm Christmas Eve and I got to open it early. Gets more use during power outages than camping. Take care. Steve
I think we figured out that the hum is our hot tub which sits just outside on the deck from where we film. It sits unplugged and empty in the summer but we just filled it and plugged it back in recently so it was running. Thanks Steve
Recently here we had a bridge (there are two, both being major arteries in and out of the city) have to close as an emergency situation made it too dangerous to remain open. This happened during peak evening commuting time and for most it meant a 30 minute commute turned quickly in to 4 hour grid lock. So experts did some math and have determined that in the event of an evacuation it would take 20-24 hours to clear the city, and that with absolutely no mishaps. I had flashback images of the traffic caused by those hurricanes and the evacuation of many parts of Florida, and close to home, the devastating loses that some have experienced in wildfires. The takeaways from all this the experts are suggesting that one always has an emergency kit quickly available for at least 3 days worth for each person, and the first and foremost advice is to make sure to heed evacuation notices first time and not to wait to the last minute as it may end up be too late or too difficult.
Wow that sounds like a horrible traffic jam!
beautiful, Thank You.
Amazing place to visit!
Thank You!!
You’re welcome
We went on this same excursion about the same time maybe a week before you! Total waste of money! Wanted to see fish under water not on the back of the boat!! Don’t waste your money!!
We absolutely LOVED it! We thought it was amazing
Exploring the shops in Nassau looked fun. So did the price things in US dollars or local currency. How were the prices. When we were in Japan the dollars was so strong everything was like 40% off
Everything was priced US and very expensive! Everything has to be imported in.
@RetiredLovingIt guess the high prices help control those impulsive buying. Loving your cruise adventure.
Great catch on film.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for an interesting talk again :)
We appreciate you taking the time to watch 😊
Oh yes there is a slight hum, but I’d never have noticed if it hadn’t been pointed out. Fridge? Freezer? It doesn’t bother me.
Could be our frig our freezer is in the other room I’m stumped 🤔
Great advice! As I am in Florida we are somewhat ready all the time. We have a gas generator as well as several solar generators to keep our refrig/freezer, chest freezer and upright freezer going. Thankfully it doesn't get too cold here most of the time. We have a gas fireplace but apparently it has an electric start so haven't figured that out yet. We've been stocking up on extra food for a couple of years due to the economy (which hopefully will get better now). We also keep cash on hand for the unexpected including enough to pay our property taxes if something happened near that time of year. At least we would have a roof over our head. We handled the Will, living will etc about 7 years ago after by BC diagnosis. Always hoping something unexpected won't happen but hopefully prepared if it does.
Sounds like you are definitely prepared! Being in Florida you never know when a hurricane might show up and sounds like you’re ready
Great advice. Camping equipment comes in really handy when the power goes out.
Definitely a great tip!
Very good points! It's best to be prepared
It sure does help it be less stressful. Have a blessed Sunday!
Great talk 👍 that’s one of the reasons I like my gas stove. When the power goes out I can still cook.
There are definitely advantages to gas. We used to have a wood stove as a heat back up but it was so messy we decided to get rid of it. There are times we wish we had it though.
These are really valid points everyone, regardless of age, needs to be aware of. The unexpected can happen at any stage of life. I know, as you get older it seems to be more important, though I say, all couples, singles we all need to be prepared and save our loved ones the stress incase of disaster. Good points and I hope people share this knowledge with the younger generation. I know my children are even better prepared than I ever was at their age. Have a great week. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝 - I just want to mention - while watching all videos I wear my headphone and last week I noticed, but didn't isolate, that while watching your video I had a ongoing hum happening. I dismissed it thinking it may be the headphone. Then today, same. A ongoing hum in the background. This is the 5th video this afternoon and I only have this with your video. I stopped watching, went to another channel and bingo - no hum. Maybe there is a disturbance somewhere ( or you have the dishwasher on 🤣) When the ads happen- no hum. Sorry but I thought it important to mention. It has happened a few times before but I kept it to myself. Due to my husband and his Sunday reading time- it is essential I use the headphones. I hope you don't mind me saying so. 👍🙏
We appreciate you letting us know about the hum. It possibly could be our new microphones 🎤 we’ll have to investigate. Have a blessed Sunday!
We think we figured out the hum might be our hot tub which is on our deck outside of where we film.
@ That could very well be it. ❤️
Another very good video bringing to light things that most don’t think about. Thank you
We certainly appreciate you watching 😊 have a blessed Sunday
Good morning Keith & Terri ☀️☕️We are here in NJ with family. On Friday we saw the start of the wildfires while driving on the interstate through Pompton Lakes, NJ. Fires have spread north into NY state. Smoke fills the sky. Today we go home to Delaware, where we have a statewide restriction on open burning due to no rain in the northeast. It’s been nearly 50 days of no rain. Little one can do to prepare for this and natural disasters. Keep your family close and love one another.🙏❤️☕️
You’re correct there are some things we cannot anticipate happening. Have a blessed Sunday & stay safe!
Another tip is to have some cash on hand in the event that banks go down for whatever reason you would have enough to get through for a few days. Any more tips?
Now that's quite the ship!! I always found excursion prices onboard more on the high side, but at least if you return later, the ship ain't going to leave! lol
@@wendingourway that’s true! We just couldn’t see paying some of those prices! Too expensive for us
I had no idea that some cruise excursions were so expensive. I just assumed that after paying so much for a cruise, the excursions would all be reasonably priced. I am glad that had some nice excursions that were also reasonably affordable. The cruise ship looked like a great place to spend a few days at sea. And your room looked like it had everything you would need and plenty of space for a place where you aren't going to spend much of your waking time. Thanks for the tour!
We were very surprised at the cost of the excursions! We’re glad they had some reasonably priced that we could do!
Wow 🤩 what a cool ship for your trip 👍
It was ginormous!
Oh, no! Falling with style though.
Only way to fall 😂
@@RetiredLovingIt Exactly!
Thought the prices was kinda high for most excursions. Enjoyed seeing what was on each deck.
@@addieandkaysenfamilyadvent1418 most excursions were very expensive 😳
Perfect video! Well done! We've been thinking about a cruise but we'll see. The excursion prices seem a bit high? I think you picked well. The inside stateroom gave me a bit of claustrophobia but any balcony room would be expensive. Id be everywhere but the room just like you!
Cruising is not for everyone but the older we get we like them. We get to go places that we otherwise would not go just ourselves. Cruises and bus trips are becoming more our thing 😅
Thanks for the tour and detailed experience of your cruise. Interesting to hear that there was smoking allowed in the casino. I'm glad you had such a greta time. Have a good weekend. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
We appreciate you watching Anita! Have a blessed weekend 😊
What do you think of those excursion prices?
This is great information.
Thanks! We appreciate you watching 😊
This was interesting to hear. Jack is currently going through all the documents that Medicare sent his dad and trying to make sense of it all and see what exactly was changing this year vs. next year. Thanks for sharing some knowledge with us to help us as we research this!
It’s hard to keep up with all the changes every year. They certainly don’t make it easy for seniors
Good enfo got 2 more years to go
That 2 years will go fast!
Great info guys
Thanks! 😊
I visited this in the summer of 1982.
We loved all the historical sites 😊
1. Not everything with Medicare Advantage requires pre-authorization. Usually, pre-authorization applies to more costly services and treatments, like outpatient procedures, hospital admissions, expensive Part B drug administration, etc. But would not apply to routine services, like exams, diagnostics, and urgent/emergency care. 2. If an Advantage plan is a PPO, then you are not restricted to in-network providers-only, and do not need referrals to see a specialist. Out-of-network care will usually result in higher copays, and out-of-network providers are not required to accept you as a patient. For that matter, unless an emergency situation, no provider is required to take you as a patient, regardless of what insurance plan you have.
Thanks for clarification and sharing this information. We are not experts by any means. From our research we still believe that traditional Medicare with a supplement is for most people the best way to go.
Se ve todo bien me daré una vuelta por bubbas 33👍🇩🇴

Very informative. Thanks for breaking it down.
We appreciate you taking the time to watch 😊
We get a month at the end/start of the year to adapt our policies or change over. It's aways a time to reflect about what I might need. Have an awesome week Terri and Keith. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Have a great week ahead too Anita! We were curious how medical care works for seniors in other countries.
@ oh this is an annual possibility for everyone. We don’t have a seperate arrangement for elderly. There is the National Health which covers many treatments and medication. We all have a compulsory excess of €356 per year. So if a particular treatment isn’t totally covered by government we pay partially ourselves. Once they €356 has been used up no extra payments required. It all falls under national health If people can afford it they have private insurance for more coverage. We have that. This is what we can adjust once a year. 🙋♀️
@ interesting
