Hey! Thanks a lot for your question. I unfortunately don't own JXL Brass, so I can only give my opinion based on what I've heard. I think Berlin Brass is the most versatile library of all. It handles both soft passages and loud parts exceptionally well. Layering it with Beaufort would sound awesome! I usually use Metropolis Ark for layering with Berlin Brass since they were both recorded in the same space. However, Beaufort sounds a bit more realistic, in my opinion. JXL Brass tends to sound a bit synthetic, especially in the higher dynamics. I understand that the purpose of this library is not to create a realistic classical mockup. For trailers, it might be very useful. So, with Berlin Brass, you should be good. But Beaufort definitely adds a cool color. Don't forget that it was recorded in AIR, not Teldex. I love the power this library can bring into your composition. Hope that makes it easier to decide! :)

I forgot to mention that Beaufort comes with very detailed articulations, which I've found incredibly useful. Having the opportunity to choose between different marcatos, for example, is very handy for adventurous cues or brass fanfares. It really enhances the flexibility and expressive range of the compositions you can create.

Oh, thank you very much my friend, and my last question, do you think that Berlin Brass worked well with Berlin Brass, taking into account that they were recorded in different rooms? and I think air studios is wetter than teldex.

@@electedmusic7685 yes, you are right there. But since you get a lot of different mic positions it’s not impossible to blend the libraries. I always add a little bit of external reverb on my libraries so they sound slightly more similar regarding the room

It depends on the sound I want to achieve. But I often layer with Peteris Vasks strings. But this demo is only BWS without any other string libraries

I think it really depends on the programming and the dynamic context. I wouldn’t copy the tutti midi track into the divisi ones but rather record every track individually. The tutti violins should sound bolder and louder than the divisi ones so the volume shouldn’t be a big problem. Anyway, you could have a problem with the overall volume of the violins since they might be too loud (tutti + two divisi = two tutti sections).

I don't know why, but the Divisi sound just as loud as the Tutti, it's strange. I'm making all the Tutti independent, that is, the first violins play one thing, the second ones another, the violas another, the cellos another... and then what I did was copy each Tutti line from each instrument, in each Divisi of the same section. To make the sound bigger, and it works very well. What I don't know is why the Divisi sound just as loud as the Tutti. I'm using all of Ben W's activated microphones.

@@electedmusic7685 hm, I don’t know about how they mixed everything. They might have mixed them as loud as the tuttis so they don’t get too quiet in the end on their own.

Thanks a lot! Oh yes, I love Peteris Vasks strings and use them on a daily basis. And not just for intimate scores :) I just finished a trailer album using them. The expressive legato sounds super great! And yes, since you also get the detailed solo strings it’s basically two libraries in one. Awesome quality

Thanks a lot! I exported the score as a graphic from Sibelius and then animated everything using Final Cut. It's kind of extensive especially with lots of tempo changes but it looks way better than just sharing the Sibelius score video ;)

@@electedmusic7685 I would go with the Berlin Woodwinds. They have been recorded in the same place and sound very good combined. I used them both in my scherzo demo :)

Is it worth upgrading to shine? I've seen that they updated the woodwinds legs, but I don't know if it's worth it. And one last thing, do you really think the same as me, are the Ben Wallfish strings the best sounding in the world of samples? I believe without a doubt, yes.

@@electedmusic7685 I only have the SINE version. And I like it! The update sounds super good and I’m a big fan of having all libraries in one place (SINE). And yes, the Wallfisch strings are awesome but I wouldn’t call them the best string library. It serves a very specific purpose and does a lot of things that others can’t. You should take a listen to the demos for Vista II. Incredible sound!
