Can't wait to see them return to operation.

Even though 2025 started off very well, it also started sadly at the same time however. As many of us in the railfan community as well as the Thomas the tank engine community already know, we lost Britt Allcroft. A major part of my childhood and one of the many things that helped me create my deep passion for trains. The moment I heard the announcement of her passing gave me pain in my heart, and I understand that’s life and we all have to move on eventually. And so God bless Britt and may she rest in peace in the afterlife along with other people who helped shaped Thomas the tank engine and the railfan community as a whole. 1943-2025!!!!

You know it’s going to be a good episode when the thumbnail has all steam trains on it. Excited for this years excursions and runs. By the way, I was planning on visiting California Oregon and Washington sometime in the summer. What’s some good railroads (with steam locos) that I should visit

I’ve got some new I’ve somewhat been spreading around about Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad’s C39-8 #8212 (Ex-NS 8212, Exx-Conrail 6021). Trying to get others aware of it. Since early 2023, the locomotive has been (or rather was) for sale on Ozark Mountain Railcar. However, very recently, it’s been sold. I’m not aware of who bought and or what’s next for the locomotive.

This was the last excursion of Sugar Express where #148 had its hand swung bell. After that it was the pneumatic clasper for the rest of the season. In December of 2023 I talked to Scott Ogle and asked about it, in which he said that it kept on getting stuck and there were plans on using the pneumatic clasper for a short while before fixing the air piston for hand ringing. I don’t think that is the case anymore, but I never say never.

I wish that 734 can get running again because she is a beast among 2-8-0s

Don’t forget that 734 is officially been moved into the shop at the Western Maryland , they don’t have a timeline for her return to service, but Work is starting

Already knocking the new year out of the park with everybody's success stories, congrats on 1395 for getting that roof installed. I actually know two locomotives here where I live that could use a roof over their "heads" 🙂🚂

765 is also returning the CVSR in April and May!

ASR is anticipating a test fire for 2100 fairly soon. I'm pretty sure the announcement Cuyahoga Valley made about "A Legend Returning" was about 2100. Kinda makes sense for her to run there since she needs to do her break-in runs.

Also steam in the valley with 765 returns this year in the Cuyahoga valley railroad

I'd like to confirm the following steamers returning to operation that I wish you included but I understand: -Ex-Washington & Lincolnton 2-8-0 Consolidation #203, "Lindy", will return to operation in November 2025 for The Three Rivers Rambler's Christmas Lantern Excursions. -The Reading & Northern Railroad's Ex-Great Western 4-6-2 Pacific #425 will return to operation in late 2025 and pull The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway Excursions out of Jim Thorpe. -Ex-East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler #12, "Tweetsie", will return to operation following a serious firebox issue that took the engine out of service in August 2024, in April or May 2025.

Well for smaller scale engines next year granite rock 10 Sacramento railroad tank engine will come into service and there next 2 projects with larger scale engines with Santa Fe 1010 now being put into restoration and after that Union Pacific 4466 will be turned to oil burning sens it’s illegal to run coal in California you should look into it 1010 gots an amazing history
