How Gen Z can rebuild some burned bridges
www.bootsonthegroundcoaching/com/parents
As a generation, Gen Z has burned a ton of bridges with employers. So many in fact that 40% of employers won't consider hiring anyone from that age group!
Even if they, as an individual didn't burn the bridge, they're going to need to repair some of the damage if they want to get, keep and grow in a good job.
Here are 3 things they can do when they go in for an interview and their first few days a a new job to set themselves apart........

Todd, I'm going to buy your book. I interact with many Gen Z college students who would benefit.
My daughter wants to be artist and live off of her trust-fund. In a world where AI & machines are slowly taking hold of the labour market: so be it.
Well said!!!
Hey man! Great reflexion and content. Keep it up, you'll get far! Definitely suscribing :)
Teaching something is free: what they'll learn will be a skill they keep for the rest of their lives. It only takes enough time.
Already halfway through the book... it's chock full of the common sense lessons I wish our gen-z cabin leaders knew. Now if only there was a book for old Gen X leaders ;)
Gen X - I sucked a lot of cxxx to get where I am - Regurgitator
The short span of the attention is only some gen z people. I consider myself professional and happy with working but the hopelessness come from the fact that we are required to have high skills but receive sht pay. Our grandfather go to work in a factory while being able to take care his wife his family and pay off 2-3 houses including vacation.
Easily digestible 10 minute chapters. 😂 With such short attention spans, it’s no wonder why Gen Z fails in the workplace.
Well put.
SO GOOD!!!
How much did you pay to advertise this dogshit
Mr. Merlin
If they regret moving in to Canada… they can always move out… anytime they want…no one will stop them.
Canada and the US desperately need governments that use wisdom with immigration. Someone coming to either country needs to be willing to become a part of that country and culture. If not, why did they leave the culture they are from if it's so much better? If I was going to immigrate into another country it would be because I was convinced it would be a much better situation to be in than the one I left.
Best add ever!
Become the exception! Train your teenager to be a mind-broken corporate slave so that the C-Suite is pleased with them. Society doesnt owe you anything, conversely, I owe society nothing.
Dear boomer. You were paid 40 dollars per hour as preteens without high school diplomas accounting for inflation. Pay us millenials and gen z folk if you want us to work for you and I will happily pick up the broom. In the meantime I will continue making 3x what every job around me pays by writing fanfiction for comission. Yes, that's my job. People pay me more for that than any company is offering.
boomers need to get off the internet and get a hobby
I can see both sides of the argument but youre going to be seen as a dinosaur talking like this to them. Most businesses owners dont reward hard work like this. I told the owner of the last business i worked for to hear out the employees....she pretty much only responded with the narrative you spoke of. Didn't realize the pay was bad so no one got the point of caring. She went out of business after me and a few of the massage therapists left. Pay was trash to begin in this case so none of the meetings and bootstrap talks worked. I told the older generation that the meetings were pointless, they all worked part time and became docile about listening to the repetitive talk....all of the young people left and these were consistent people. She would consistently say no one wanted to work, people constantly left after being hired upon seeing their first paycheck. She kept up the chanting of.......no one wants to work and I'm not putting anything else into the business....which is us. Now she's out of business. Although I see how in some fields this mentality is rewarding....for most people on a specific job it won't pay off. You have to look out for yourself or be hungry.
Lol the new version of "clean your room bro". Ok boomer.
@@MaxEdge-pf3pp hahahaha, jokes on you, I'm not a boomer. Maybe you need to clean your room?
I believe you mean well, but unfortunately this is advice that would have been great when you (we) were younger. Nowadays, picking up the broom will mostly just lead to picking up the phone, to making the website, to unloading the truck, to staying late, to coming in weekends, to... wondering how the heck you ended up getting so much work and job responsibility while still making minimum wage. There are exceptions, for sure, but this is failing to recognize what is creating and reinforcing the kind of work ethic you mention in Gen Z in the first place. I'm glad you don't treat your employees this way, but you have to recognize that you're the exception and not the rule in today's job market.
If I am not a manager, I do not need to go above and beyond my tasks. Asking the manager to do more will give me more work for the same amount of cash as the schmuck next to me who is doing half the work.
Excellent Video
Be hard worker -> Get more work, but no extra pay -> Make C-suite/Private Equity owner millions a year -> Get laid off because job is offshored or get "locked down" because of politicians. You are delusional and condesending. At this stage Gen Z might be on the verge of picking up rifles, not brooms.
Some of these kids need to quit watching tiktoks.
This is not going to help you at all. Acting like the well-behaved wage slave is not going to do anything in this economy. If you are talanted in something, keep working on that skill and try to start your own buisness.
Guess youtube hides comments if they're too "politically incorrect" now Part of the lowered literacy rate is due to non-english speaking dreamers who enrich our culture and society and their wonderful kids making up an increasingly larger percentage of the population, a fact which is a good thing
Part of the lowered literacy rate is due to non-english speaking foreigners and their kids making up an increasingly larger percentage of the population
I notice when you take initiative like this you just end up with more responsibilities at the same pay
Are you John Cena's dad?
All yes i see this alot they are like robots. Im in commercial hvac and noticed this alot. im gen z (barely) but having grit and taking initiative has gotten me farther in life then my peers. No excuses when the bad happens you just learn and move on. I left my home when i was 18 for the military and only had 500 dollars in my name now im 25 living on my own with a wife and kid and the only debt i got is my wife vechile, looking to use my va loan after election on a house
Glad you see it. Appreciate the honesty.
Gen Z was born without genitalia hence all the confusion.
I am a birthed in 79' Gen X. Finished my education and professional business experience and now choose to work at McDee's since other financial areas of my life are secure. Even though the "Hamburger Mine" is less than a mile away, I still wake up at 4 a.m. to be at work for a 6 a.m. shift so I have time to "THAW". Que Roger Daltrey for My G-G-Generation.

It is refreshing to see companies that uphold their values and that its not just talk. I have found one of those companies.
That is awesome! Thanks Todd!
Some days I feel like a diamond and some days I feel like a balloon. Those are 3 good points Todd and I have used them.
the old adage of can't see the forest for the trees or its hard to remember you object was to drain the swamp when your up to your kister in Alligators. All of us need to take a step back and look at the big picture. It helps to refresh your focus and align your objectives. Good video Todd.
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign that you know you can do better and asking for a little help from a mentor or getting somebody else's ideas can make you a better leader. Great job Todd and ps thanks for the help last week.
Yes, those two words can make a big difference in the way you are perceived by your piers and by the people that work with and for you.
Being prepared is the number one leaders role. Having everything you need with especially on northern job we things can and usually do go sideways. In my early years 4H and Boy Scouts taught me to always be prepared it was their motto. It has served me well. There are several Military terms and sayings that also point this out like adapt, overcome, and succeed. the last word may be wrong but I think you get the idea.
good job
